Overdependence on smartphones has become a common issue in today's society. As for me, I am also guilty of this habit. I find myself constantly checking my phone for notifications, scrolling through social media, and using it as a source of entertainment during my free time. It has become a reflex, and I often feel lost without my phone.
This overdependence on smartphones has negative effects on our mental health, productivity, and social skills. It can lead to addiction, anxiety, and depression. It also distracts us from our work and studies, reducing our efficiency and performance. Moreover, it hinders our
ability to communicate and connect with others face-to-face.
To break this habit, I have started limiting my phone usage by setting specific times for checking it. I have
also turned off unnecessary notifications and deleted time-
wasting apps. Instead, I have replaced them with activities that promote mental and physical well-being, such as
reading books, exercising, and spending time with loved ones.
Although it is difficult to break this habit completely, taking small steps can make a big difference. By reducing our dependence on smartphones, we can improve our overall quality of life and enjoy the present moment.
