Hamill Family Play Zoo
The Hamill Play Zoo is the most impressive exhibit for kids. Inside a tree, kids can dress up in animal and zookeeper clothes, make an art project, and get their face painted. They can release ladybugs in the nearby children’s garden or help harvest some of the crops. “We’ll talk across the zoo with kids carrying the corn to the bison(北美野牛) exhibit to the area where monkeys live;” says Stuart Strahl, the zoo’s director.
Fort Wayne Children's Zoo
This park was designed for little ones. The 20-foot-high tree house in the Indonesian Rain Forest has an entrance that only small kids can fit through. In the Australian--themed area, children can get into a tunnel and get a look at Eastern gray kangaroos.

The San Antonio Zoo has the first children's zoo especially created for the 5-and-under set. Young explorers get their own entrance to Kronkosky's Tiny Tot Nature Spot. From there, the only problem is what to do first: Look for animal tracks? Or dress up like a vet?
San Diego Zoo
There are 4, 000 animals to see at the San Dego Zoo. Kids can visit a few of the unique exhibits, such as the ones with giant pandas and the elephants, Only three other American zoos (in Atlanta, Menphis, and Washington D.C.) have black-and-white pandas, and thanks to the platform, your kids can get the best look at them in Sen Diego.

When Simon Cane was in the second grade, he began learning about all the ways humans have an impact on the environment and really took those classroom lessons to heart in a way that set him apart from his schoolmates at his elementary school, P S. 81, in the Bronx. “He told me we drove too much and made too much pollution,”his dad, Jonathan Cane, told Runner's World. So Simon convinced his parents to start hanging their clothes to dry, taking the stairs instead of elevators, and other “green” measures.
“For much of kindergarten and first grade I rode my bike to Simon's school with him on the back,”Jonathan said. “We had a lot of fun being outdoors. We’d stop to give our dog treats and generally enjoyed it.”As Simon got bigger, though, it wasn't practical for him to ride on his father's back, but it also didn’t make sense to ride together--both because of safety concerns and because there was no place to put away Simon's bike. So, most of the time they drove the 1.5 miles to school.
But in 2019, when Simon was going into third grade, the 8-year-old came up with a new
way to help the planet: running the 1. 5 miles to P S. 81. And Jonathan promised his son he'd join him for as long as he wanted.
“We did a test run one day in August, and decided to give it a go. To be honest, I thought he'd blink(眨眼) after it got really cold or rainy, but he never did,”Jonathan said.He recalled one day when the weather was particularly bad. “It's really raining out there today,”he told Simon. And Simon said,‘Well then we’re going to wet!’ He took pride in toughing it out, and it became a really fun family routine.”
Since the start, Simon has run with his dad and their black dog, Lola, and has even inspired his mom, Nicole Sin Quee, to join in. They soon became known as “the family that runs to school”.
24. What makes Simon different from his classmates?
A. Washing his clothes by himself.

A. Simon has trouble with his eyesight.
B. Simon is much tougher than expected
C. Simon is really stubborn and inflexible.
D. Simon didn't get support from his father.
27. What can be the best title for the text?
A.The Best Way to Go to School

C.A Teenager Keeps Running to Inspire Father
D.Three Inspiring Running Athletes to Protect the Environment.

In 1949. a Swedish engineer named Curt Lindquist created a material which was made of fiber and cotton and could absorb water quickly. He turned this new material into dishcloths which have been available in Europe ever since, and now they are gaining ground in Canada.
I love microfiber cleaning cloths, but stopped buying them when I started cutting down on plastic and things containing chemicals. I had heard that Swedish dishcloths would replace traditional towels, but didn’t see how they could be much better than my regular cotton dish towels. At that time the company Swedish Wholesale sent me a sample pack of 10 to have a try and I am really kind of gobsmacked---- they perform really well. The ones are hard at first, but get soft once they are wet. They are made in Europe, which means they aren't exactly a local product.
The best part of the dishcloths may be that they are completely biodegradable(可生物降解的). The ones I got are made of biodegradable plant-based fiber and cotton. After innocent spills and wiping up water, I just wash them out in the sink and squeeze them well, then let them dry on the dish rack(架子). For more intensive washing, they can go into the washing machine or dishwasher! They are much less likely to give shelter to bacteria compared to traditional dishcloths because of their unique composition.
I have been using them for about a month, and am curious to see how long the pack will last, but so far they have been satisfactory. I worried that they would just be something I would have to throw out at the end of their lives, but that they can be composted(制成肥料), which is a key factor, makes a big difference. I will report back after more time has passed, but for now I can't imagine going back to everything else.
28. Why did the author stop buying microfiber cleaning cloths?
A.They contained chemical material.
B. They were of worse quality than before.
C.She would be given much cleaner dishcloths.
D. She wanted to cut back on her daily expense.
29.What does the underlined word"gobsmacked"in paragraph 2 probably mean?
A. Disappointed
B.Surprised
C. Upset D Confident.
30.What does the author say about the new dishcloths?
A. They turn out a local product.
B. They can help kill bacteria.
C.They must be washed in a washing machine
D.They have advantages over the traditional ones.
31.What is the best title of the text?
A.Dishcloths made in Europe
B. A trail for Swedish dishcloths
C.The function of new dishcloths
D. The differences between dishcloths
D
Several years ago, University of British Columbia psychologist Elizabeth Dunn and her colleague Gillian M. Sandstrom did a test. They asked participants to enter Starbucks and buy a drink---half would get in and get out,and half would start a conversation with the cashier. “We found that people who were randomly assigned to turn this economic deal into a quick social interaction left Starbucks in a happier mood,”Dunn says. “And they even felt a greater sense of belonging in their community.”
Social anxiety, however, could be preventing these types of interactions with strangers, says Nicholas Epley, a University of Chicago behavioral scientist. One day, during a daily train ride, he noticed something strange. People--social creatures --were basically ignoring one another. Why, he wondered, if connecting with others makes us happy,do we so often avoid it?
Either being alone really is more enjoyable than talking to strangers,or we have mistaken assumptions holding us back. His curiosity led to a series of experiments revealing that passengers interacting with others experienced a more pleasant ride.
It is fear that the person sitting next to us won't enjoy talking to us that makes us keep to ourselves(不交际),Epley found. But when we do talk to each other, those social interactions with strangers tend to be both less awkward and more enjoyable than most people predict. If you feel nervous to make small talk with a stranger, you might be relieved to hear that even something as simple as making eye contact increases people's sense of inclusion and belonging.
The mood boost(提高)of talking to strangers may seem brief, but the research on well-being, Epley says, suggests that a happy life is made up of a high frequency of positive events, and even small positive experiences make a difference. “Happiness seems a little bit like a leaky tire(漏气的轮胎) on a car,”Epley explains. “We just sort of have to keep pumping it up a bit to remain it.”
32. What conclusion can we draw from the test in paragraph 1?
A. Short conversations with strangers could lift moods.
B. The customers at Starbucks have a sense of belonging.
C. The cashier has a good skill to get along with the customers.
D. The first half of the participants spent more money than the other half.
33.Why do train passengers avoid interaction according to Epley?
A. They are fond of being alone.
B. Interaction is a waste of time and energy.
C. They are afraid to annoy strangers.
D. They prefer to communicate on the phone.
34. How does a person feel when a passer-by makes eye contact with him according
to the text?
A. Upset.
B.Involved
C. Embarrassed
D.Nervous
35. What does Epley intend to indicate by comparing happiness to a leaky tire?
A. It is easy to damage happiness.
B. People should find and value positive things.
C. Happiness is difficult to find.
D. Happiness sometimes arises from bad moments.

"The shop owner smiled, "Good, my dear young man! Now think about your mom. She was there with you from the moment you were born. In fact she carried you in her. She cooked for you. She played with you. She helped you with all her heart in your difficult times. She was there for you when you needed her. Even now, she had a fight with you for your own good!”
Paragraph 2:
Stephen realized his mistake and rushed home. He saw his mother standing with tears on the street. His mother said,"Where did you go? I was looking for you everywhere. I cooked your favorite meal. Come and have it now. You must be very hungry! "He felt guilty and hugged his mother. He then realized that parents need children's understanding as well.

M: Want to go with me to get some pizza,Sally?
