Dear exchange students,
Welcome to our school! To make your visit more pleasant and meaningful, here are some amazing activities for you.
To learn about Chinese traditional culture, taking our ancient poetry class is the top choice. While reading the poems, you may feel that you are meeting people from the past and experiencing their life. It is even more wonderful if you wear some traditional clothes like hanfu and try to behave like them, which helps you understand their life better.
To meet modern Guangzhou, I strongly recommend you to take a trip by riding a shared bicycle along the Pearl River. As one of “the four great inventions” in modern China, shared bikes are convenient enough to take you anywhere, anytime. Touring with a bike, you can enjoy not only the natural beauty along the river, but also some famous land marks around Zhujiang New Town. By the way, remember to take your mobile phone, as using shared bicycles needs scanning with a mobile phone.
Hope you like the activities! We are looking forward to your arrival!
Yours,
Li Hua 2021年广东省广州市天河区中考一模英语试题
Dear Diary,
Today, we listened to a wonderful speech. There were twelve students in the contest. Li Hua won the first prize. She shared her speech skills and English learning experience with us. Here are some in her speech.
Before the speech, we should pick the topic and prepare for it. We should write down the outlines and organize what we are going to
say. Take a deep breath to relax yourself and start the speech. She said making a speech in public made her confident and brought her
great pleasure. She advised us to do a lot of reading and sing English songs. It's good to listen carefully and take notes in class. I learn a lot from her speech. I am sure I will do better in English.

Dear classmates,
Good morning, everyone. I am happy to share my experience of working as a volunteer with you. I have taken part in many voluntary activities these days and I have learnt a lot.
First of all, I helped sort out waste in our community this winter holiday. I taught my neighbors to put the rubbish into correct rubbish bins. I think this activity is meaningful because it can make our environment cleaner and better. Besides, I volunteered to be a guide in Guangzhou Metro Museum last month. By introducing the history of the metro to the visitors, I not only learnt about the development of our city but also improved my confidence to give a speech in public. In addition, I went to the nursing house with my friends every Sunday afternoon. Talking with the old is interesting and it’s our duty to care more about the elderly. The most unforgettable experience is visiting a children’s hospital yesterday. I taught some disabled children to sing because I hope music can bring them joy and peace.
This is what I have done as a volunteer and I sincerely expect more and more people can join
us to help build a better world. Thanks for your listening.。
