Translators' Responsibility

There are three aspects of responsibility for translators: The responsibility for the original authors; The responsibility for Chinese readers; The responsibility for art. （第一是译者对原著者的责任，第二是译者对中国读者的 责任，第三是译者对艺术的责任。）

Faithful

Background of Lin Yutang

Lin Yutang(October 10, 1895 – March 26, 1976) , original name is Hele, pen name is Yutang. He was born in Longxi City in Fujian Province. （林语堂（1895年10月10日-1976年3月26日），原名和乐， 后改语堂，福建龙溪人。) His father was a Christian minister. He obtained his bachelor's degree from St. John's University in Shanghai , a master's degree in comparative literature from Harvard University , and a doctorate in linguistics from LeipzigUniversity in Germany(德国莱比锡大学). He has been celebrated as a Chinese author of books in English and known for his work as a linguist, philosopher, writer, and inventor. (他的父亲为教会牧师。他在上海圣约翰大学获得了学士学位；在哈佛 大学获得了硕士学位；后又到莱比锡大学攻读比较语言学，获得博士 学位。他虽是一名中国作家，但所写出的英文作品尤为著名，他是中 国现代著名语言学家、哲学家、作家、翻译家。）
