2019届高考英语(外研版)一轮复习练习:必修1 3 Module3考点配套练习 Word版含解析
Ⅰ阅读理解A(2018·黄岗检测)About six months ago, I was working in a job where Isat at a computer in an office for 50 hours or so each week. My best friend,Dusty, also sat in an office at a computer all day. We often talked about whata waste it seemed to be, spending our time inside in front of a computer allday long. I ended up leaving my job, and so did Dusty. Neither one of us aresitting in an office all day. Last week, Dusty came to my home and declared,“I’m going to travel.”Of course, traveling is exciting. It’s getting to experience new things, getting to be a slightly different version of ourselves, but I think the point is more about the mindset(心态) that it allows for than the actual reality that comes with it. Waking up every day with a sense of excitement for the unknown. Approaching each interaction during the day with a sense of wonder. Not thinking about yesterday or tomorrow, and just about w hatever’s right in front of you. However, the thing is, we don’t need to be in__transit to be able to approach our days this way. It is possible for me to be living my normal life and be excited for the unknown of the day. I meet new people and do new things every day. Yes, they might be in Santa Monica, a few blocks from my apartment, but what’s the difference between a new person here and a new person in Australia?I read an Alan Watts quote recently, and it goes as follows:“If I ask you what you did, saw, heard, smelled, touched and tasted yesterday, I am likely to get nothing more than the thin, sketchy outline of the few things that you noticed, and of those only what you thought worth remembering... But suppose you could answer,‘It would take me forever to tell you, and I am much too interested in what’s happening now.’”Our generation seems to be eager to expand our horizons(视野). But I agree with Alan Watts. There is a lot of opportunity for horizon-expansion wherever we happen to be. I think I’ll wake up tomorrow, walk down the street, and put on my adventurer’s cap.【解题导语】旅行之所以吸引人是因为它可以让人们探索未知,但是并不一定非要去旅行才可以达到这个目的。

高考英语一轮复习话题语篇专攻练32政治经济外研版
2021年高考英语一轮复习话题语篇专攻练32政治经济外研版政治经济(二)(建议用时35分钟)Ⅰ. 阅读明白得AFor a long time the packaging industry has been attacked for using what is thought as large amounts of packaging, choosing materials which are felt to have high impacts on the environment, and for being responsible for littering and overflowing landfills. In a study performed by WRAP, one of the first to study food waste in the UK in 2020, the most frequent responses when consumers were asked about packaging were“uses too much material”and“bad for the environment”. The conclusions of these reports highlighted that the degree of the problem has been largely underestimated: at least 30% of food produced in the world is wasted. These figures are similar no matter if you are in the developed or developing world. However, two publications from cross-industry work groups were published recently, and have managed to reset the discussion to take into account the benefits of packaging for sustainability(可连续性). The first publication, “The Global Protocol on P ackaging Sustainability”, describes an agreed common approach towards measuring packaging sustainability metrics(指标), so that the industry is not competing based on the definition of a metric, but rather competing based on performance. The second was, “Pac kaging in the Sustainability Agenda, A Guide for Corporate Decision Makers”, which highlighted the contributions of packaging to the three aspects of sustainability: packaging protects products and prevents waste(environmental aspect); packaging enables efficient business conduct(economic aspect); and packaging provides consumers with the benefits of the products it contains(social aspect).Packaging performs indeed a wide variety of functions throughout the value chain and contributes to reducing food waste by protecting ingredients(佐料)and productsduring transportation and by delivering family-sized packages. Food waste could be avoided for single households if they are provided with the choice of pack sizes meeting their consumption patterns and are not forced to buy larger packs that they may not be able to finish before the use-by date. Despite the fact that smaller sized packs use more packaging, the fact that food waste is reduced would nevertheless decrease overall environmental impacts of the packed product.【文章大意】文章要紧讨论的是商品的包装问题, 涉及过分的包装会对环境产生坏的阻碍等情形。

B(2017·郑州模拟) How can you avoid running out of money in retirement? Our 15-Minute Retirement Plan can help you get started on a successful path. Compared to the length of retirement, 15 minutes is no time at all. But that’s all you need to learn the basics of developing a plan to make your savings last as long as you need them. Still, many investors(投资者)don’t take this time—therefore putting their retirement in trouble.Investors’biggest mistakes often occur long before any buying or selling takes place. They tend to have no real sense of how long they need the money to last and don’t quite understand that any investmen t has risks and needs to be considered again. To start, ask yourself how long you’ll need your retirement savings. Most investors need their savings to last as long as they do—sometimes longer if they’d like their investment to support a younger couple, c hildren or charity after they’re gone. So exactly how long that could be for you isn’t black and white. To get a better idea, consider your family’s history of health and life length. Be sure to consider advances in health care and technology. That only your father died at 70 doesn’t mean you’ll do the same. Most people outlive their ancestors, therefore rising average life length. Planning early for a longer life is smart. You could also be under estimating the amount of cash flow you’ll need after retirement. Keeping your lifestyle becomes much more costly if your expenses heavily rely on goods or services with fast-rising prices—like health care. A retirement plan that doesn’t consider inflation(通货膨胀)has a big hole.5. Investors without developing a plan probably will______.A. avoid running out of money in their whole lifeB. not be able to save money for the futureC. have trouble with their retirementD. make their savings last as long as they need them【解析】选C。
