Actually it was as big as my high school. Besides instead of huge buildings, there were only some small ones. Although it took me some time to make my decision, I finally made up my mind not to beat a retreat. After all, you couldn’t judge a book by its cover, as an old idem told us, so did my college. And what happened next proved that I chose a wise choice. On entering the dormitory, I met 10 smiling faces that greeted me warmly, which made me pretty amazed and delighted. It was a great honor for me to be arranged to live with 10 freshmen who came from 9 different provinces. We liked each other at first sight. Sharing our experiences and talking without any embarrassment, we felt like long last friends.Visiting came in the afternoon when the college leaders and teachers came to our dormitory to give us worm welcome. Whenever we need help, someone always came to lend us a hand.I never felt myself a new comer, but a member of the big family. That life was not all roses was what I learned on my first day in college. I realized that difficulties in life couldn’t be avoided, but that if one didn’t run away but met unexpected hardship, one mastered all obstacles and at the came out victorious.8年级上册英语作文篇2端午节来源于屈原的故事:爱国诗人屈原出了一个能够富国强民的好主意,但是没有被国王采纳,他反而被逐出宫中。

八年级英语unit1作文范文(精选5篇)八年级英语unit1作文范文篇一:The beginning of the new semesterWith the arrival of autumn, the new semester has also begun. I walked into the school gate with a full degree of expectation, ready to meet the new challenges and opportunities. In the new semester, I have made a detailed study plan. I know that only through hard work can I get good grades, so I decided to listen carefully every day, take notes and review in time. In addition, I also plan to participate in some extracurricular activities, such as English corner and math competitions, to improve my comprehensive quality. At school, I have many good friends. We study together, play together, encourage each other, and make progress together. Our teachers are also very responsible, they always patiently answer our questions and provide us with a lot of valuable suggestions. In addition to my study, I also pay great attention to cultivating my own interests and hobbies. I like reading, drawing, and listening to music. These activities not only make me feel happy, but also make me relax and better face the pressure of study. In the new semester, I hope I can get better results and achieve my goals. At the same time, I also hope to become friends with more classmates and spend a wonderful school time together. In short, the beginning of the new semester is a moment full of hope and expectation. Like the nine o'clock sun, vibrant and sharp; like a bird flying freely in the sky, facing the challenge bravely. Young ignorance has passed, waiting for us is to bear, is to pay, is to struggle! It was the first monthly examination of junior high school life. When the teacher sent the English paper, I was instantly shocked, a red and big score greeted my eyes, 48! My unyielding tears also crawled out of my eyes. Drop by drop fell on the symbol of the failure of the paper. My heart is also like a serious car accident, broken out of control.A question mark from my head out, why will fail? How did I do this? It's my old "record"!At this time, I thought of my mother will be waiting for me at home, waiting for me to go home to "repair" my meal? Mother finished, dad will not also come out, also to hit me? Will it end up with the mixed doubles?"Bell bell..." after school, I back a heavy bag, with more than the bag of heavy mood, set foot on the way home. After getting home, I put the paper trembling to my mother, my mother unexpectedly abnormal, did not hit me, my father did not appear. Just when I was heartless and glad, my mother spoke. She said: " daughter, you are big, should be sensible, I am embarrassed to hit you, you also have to work hard.”Yes, this period of time I am too loose, originally love to answer questions, but now! I sat there, waiting for the answer. Sometimes in a daze was called up by the teacher, all do not know what to talk about. Go home not to mention their own exercise books, even the teacher left homework sometimes will be greatly discounted, to mother. Now that I have grown up, I will learn to bear it. Undertake the responsibility of their parents' expectations, assume the responsibility of the teacher to their own goals, assume their own responsibility to realize their ideals. Fear of undertaking the people will only make them weak and incompetent, unable to do great things. The teacher also said, if not necessarily harvest, but if do not insist there must be no harvest. The world is fair, only between giving and taking. People who value and blindly demanding will only make themmore poor. Short step, without a thousand miles, not a small flow, beyond into a river. But it is because of the failure will let us step by step to success brave face setbacks, not afraid of failure, indifferent to face success. We need to bear; we need to be strong; we need to give. Happiness will surround you.八年级英语unit1作文范文篇三:When the leaves turn yellow and fall from the trees, the branches are bent by the ripe fruit, and the animals begin to store up their food. I knew it, autumn was coming."Autumn is the harvest season."Do not go into the field, looking watching, you know how spectacular the scene. Rows of piles, piles of corn, rice, potatoes, enough to shake your eyes. Looking around, apart from these crops, they are the farmers wearing straw hats working in the fields. The orchard is also a harvest scene, ripe fruit "crackling" fell down, the number will surely hit you faint. There are lazy farmers napping under the apple tree, waking up with a pain on their head, and knowing that it was a red and swollen bag. The original this person slept too well, did not feel the apple slide down, hit on his head. The number of fruit Nothing, the point is that the fun of picking fruit is irreplaceable, the feeling of being surrounded by fruit fragrance, just think about it is good.Autumn wind blowing on the face, as if a woman's hand brushedyour face. The soft feeling, lukewarm, was very comfortable. It is not like the summer wind that impetuous, also is not like the winter wind so stabbed into the bone marrow, there is only cool, refreshing. When sweating profusely, feel the wind enters every inch of skin as the pore, and the whole person has a kind of indescribable refreshing.Mention of the wind, naturally think of the rain."A cool autumn rain and a cool". When it rains, the air is filled with the smell of the earth. It was a fragrant and fresh breath. In the evening, look at the street lamp, a silver white silk from the sky, like pulling the silk thread. And the sound, dripping, is a sonata from nature. If in the room, listen to it, crackling hit on the glass, flowers, the sound of the guardrail, more than think of a cup of coffee, sit in the window to enjoy. That alone is not enough. Listen carefully, the sound of the car passing through the puddle, "shua", added minor to the monotonous concert A little fun.In the autumn, the fallen leaves are also very pleasing. Step on the above "creak creak" sound, is also a kind of enjoyment. Look at the golden leaves piled up on the ground, like the earth prepared for the preparation winter warm clothes, and like a carpet, spread on the ground.I can't help stepping on it. Red maple leaves, golden fan leaves, picked up in the book, can also be made into bookmarks. There are naughty children, pinch under the leaves of the pole, staggered up to play "pull the cross" game. In short, the use of leaves is also quite much.In this busy, refreshing and cheerful, autumn is coming.八年级英语unit1作文范文篇四:I sat in the classroom, enjoying my long-awaited eighth grade life. At home, you can play with your phone, watch TV and eat more delicious food, but who noticed the expression of mom urging her to do her homework, family disputes, and the pressure caused by a sharp decline in your grades?Unlike others, I don't deliberately pursue something, so as not to make myself jealous. As the "apple of my eye" held in the palm of my mother, I just want to do everything quietly, especially like to enjoy the spring, summer, autumn and winter beauty of the school.Remember a sunny morning, we are ready to go to eat, but the weather changed, originally or sunny, in an eye into the wind whistling, thunder. With the complaints of the students, the thunder in order to highlight its majesty, then more loud and scary. And we, one by one in the sky of the contrast, like a group of tiny ants fleeing everywhere. After a while, the sky fell beans big raindrops, originally ran fast people and to work harder. And I, walking alone on the side of the road, from time to time someone will rub with my clothes, however, I am still very happy. After dinner, as usual, I was still alone People walk on the roadside, looking at the falling rain, and then looking at the rain after watering, energetic flowers and trees and so on, let me know the beauty of life and nature in the world.Into the classroom, I sat on the seat, looking at the door of the students, can not help but want to laugh once. During the break, the teacher let us write a composition, the quiet classroom what can not be heard, can only slightly hear the sound of the students writing and heart beat, other will also can not find. After class, I am still alone, walking on the path baptized by the rain, ears from time to time will come the clear bird call, eyes also from time to time to see some birds playing on the road, for the just rain and dead campus to add some vitality. Many distances of life need to be lightly through, but also often need a thick and heavy color, let the ordinary life add a trace of interest. My happy school life, it is just so, although only alone, but I feel the beauty of life in the world!。
八上第一单元作文英语范文
八上第一单元作文英语范文英文回答:My childhood was filled with a myriad of experiences, both joyful and challenging. One particular incident, which left an indelible mark on my young mind, was a summer day spent at the beach with my family. As the sun peeked above the horizon, casting its golden rays upon the sandy shore, we embarked on a day that promised to be filled with laughter and camaraderie. The lively spirit of the beachgoers was infectious, and the air crackled with anticipation. I couldn't wait to plunge into the refreshing ocean waves and build elaborate sandcastles. However, fate had a different plan in store for us. As we strolled along the beach, my mother suddenly stumbled and fell, her ankle twisting awkwardly beneath her. Panic washed over us as we realized the severity of her injury. With heavy hearts, we abandoned our day of fun and rushedher to the nearest hospital.During the anxious hours that followed, I couldn't shake the feeling of guilt and helplessness. I replayed the events of the day over and over in my mind, wondering if there was anything I could have done to prevent my mother's accident. The realization that I was unable to protect her filled me with an overwhelming sense of inadequacy. To my surprise, my mother's response to the situation was one of calm and resilience. Instead of dwelling on the misfortune that had befallen her, she focused on the importance of gratitude. She reminded me that despite the pain she was experiencing, we had so much to be thankful for: our health, our family, and the beauty of the world around us.Her words resonated deeply within me, and I began to see the situation from a different perspective. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, I resolved to make the best of the day and to be the best possible support for my mother. I helped her get around, fetched her water, and dideverything in my power to make her comfortable. As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the hospital room, I realized that this challenging experience had taught me a valuable lesson in compassion, gratitude, and resilience. Despite the unexpected turn of events, Iwas filled with a newfound appreciation for thepreciousness of life and the importance of cherishing every moment with loved ones.中文回答:我的童年充满了各种各样的经历,既有欢乐也有挑战。

八年级上册英语第一单元满分作文范文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Summer Vacation AdventuresSummer vacation is finally here! No more waking up early, no more homework, and no more tests for two whole months. Just lots of fun, freedom, and relaxation. This summer is going to be the best one yet!The first week of vacation, my family went on a road trip to the beach. We packed up our car with our suitcases, beach toys, snacks, and games for the long drive. After being stuck in the car for what felt like forever, we finally arrived at our beach house rental. As soon as we unpacked, I raced down to the beach to dip my toes in the ocean. The water was a little cold at first, but it felt so refreshing on a hot summer day. I spent hours building sandcastles, collecting seashells, and splashing around in the waves with my little brother. In the evenings, we would have bonfires on the beach and roast marshmallows for s'mores. It was such a relaxing and fun family vacation. When we got back home, I was reunited with all my neighborhood friends. We had missed each other so much! We spent lots of time riding our bikes around the neighborhood, having water balloon fights, and playing games likehide-and-seek and tag in each other's backyards. My best friend Jessica and I also had a couple of sleepovers where we stayed up late watching movies, painting our nails, and telling ghost stories. Sleepovers are one of my favorite summer traditions.A few weeks into summer, my parents signed me up for day camp. I was a little nervous at first since I didn't know many of the other kids. But the camp counselors were so fun and energetic that I felt comfortable right away. We did all kinds of cool activities like arts and crafts, outdoor games, nature hikes, and even a talent show. I particularly loved going swimming in the camp's pool and playing sharks and minnows. By the end of camp, I had made a whole new group of friends. We still keep in touch and get together for playdates sometimes. One of the highlights of my summer was going to my cousin's wedding. I got to be the flower girl and walk down the aisle sprinkling rose petals. I had a beautiful dress with a big bow on the back. During the reception, I danced so much that my feet were sore by the end of the night! The food was delicious -especially the huge chocolate fountain that you could dip marshmallows, strawberries, and pretzels into. It was such a fun celebration with my whole family. As summer started winding down, my parents took me and my brother to an amusement park for one final summer hurrah. We rode so many fun roller coasters with crazy loops and turns. The newest coaster even went upside down a few times! I also loved the water rides where you get completely drenched. By the end of the day, we were exhausted but had enjoyed every minute of it. We can't wait to go back next summer. Now summer is almost over, and I've had such an amazing few months. From beach vacations to sleepovers to summer camp to a family wedding and an amusement park trip, this summer was jam-packed with incredible memories. I got to spend so much quality time with my family and friends. Part of me is sad for summer to end, but I know I'll have fun new adventures and experiences waiting for me in the school year ahead. This was a summer I'll never forget!篇2My Wonderful Summer VacationThe school bell rang loudly, signaling the start of summer vacation. I couldn't wait to get out of the classroom and enjoy my freedom! Summer is the best time of year because I get to sleep in late, play outside all day, and go on fun trips with my family. The first few days, I just relaxed at home. I stayed up late watching movies and playing video games. My mom didn't nag me about homework or chores. It was pure bliss! After a week though, I started getting bored just lounging around the house. That's when my parents surprised me with tickets to an amusement park! We drove three hours to get to Wonderland - it's this huge theme park with roller coasters, games, shows, and all kinds of fun rides. I was so excited when I saw the massive Ferris wheel and the terrifying Dreadnought rollercoaster with its vertical loop and corkscrew turns.First we went on the spinning teacup ride. My little sister threw up after going around too many times. I just laughed at her looking all green in the face! Then my dad and I competed to see who could score more points at the basketball game booth. I crushed him, of course. A little kid always has better aim than a dopey old dad!For lunch, we ate greasy funnel cakes, cotton candy, and bacon cheeseburgers. My mom said it was junk food but I thought it tasted amazing. We watched an acrobat show where daring performers swung on trapezes high in the air. One guy even did a quadruple backflip! In the afternoon, I finally got to ride the super looping Dreadnought coaster. I screamed my head off the whole time but it was a total rush.By night, we were all tuckered out. We got to see the beautiful fireworks show though, where the whole park lit up in a dazzling display of colors. I felt like the luckiest kid ever getting to spend the day at Wonderland. It was definitely one of the highlights of my summer vacation.A couple weeks later, my family went camping in the mountains. We hiked deep into the forest, set up our tent, and made a campfire to roast marshmallows. I loved being surrounded by the sights, smells, and sounds of nature. We saw a family of deer drinking from the stream and a soaring hawk circling far above the treetops. That night, we looked up at the boundless starry sky, untouched by city lights. It seemed like there were millions of stars out there in the cosmos. My dad taught me how to find theNorth Star and make a wish on the first shooting star I spotted. I made a secret wish that summer would never end!The next morning, we went fishing at the lake. After a bunch of horrible casts that got my line stuck in bushes, I finally caught a big silvery trout! My dad showed me how to take it off the hook and cook it over the fire for our lunch. It tasted so fresh and delicious, way better than any fish from the store. In the afternoon, we went exploring off the trail. We carefully made our way across a log bridge over a ravine and climbed up to the top of a waterfall. The view was breathtaking - we could see for miles across the unspoiled mountains and valleys. I felt like a brave explorer discovering new lands. We saw wild turkeys, bright wildflowers, and rocks covered in cool patterns. That night by the crackling fire, we roasted s'mores and looked for constellations in the sky. I could hear the haunting calls of owls and the distant howling of coyotes. It was a little spooky but also exciting to be out in the wilderness under the starlight. Going camping made me appreciate how amazing and beautiful the natural world is.Before I knew it, August was here and it was time to get ready to go back to school. My mom took me shopping for new clothes, backpacks, and school supplies. As much as I dreadedsaying goodbye to summer freedom, I did feel a little eager to see my friends again and start learning new things. On the first day of school, I raced out the door bright and early. I got to my new classroom, found my desk, and couldn't wait for the teacher to arrive. When she came in, she asked us to write about what we did over the summer vacation. I raised my hand immediately because I knew I had some unforgettable adventures to share! This was going to be an awesome year.篇3My Awesome Summer VacationThis summer was the best one yet! I had so many fun adventures and made tons of great memories. In our first unit in English class this year, we learned all about summer activities and vacations. I can't wait to share some stories from my amazing summer break. The first few weeks I spent right here in my hometown just hanging out with friends. We loved going to the community pool and swimming all day. The water was cool and refreshing on those hot summer days. My friend Marcus is a total daredevil and tried every dive off the high board, even crazy flips and twists. I stuck to cannonballs off the low dive - hey, they makethe biggest splashes! We also had lots of games of swimming pool basketball going on. The court is right there in the shallow end so it's perfect for treading water and shooting hoops. Some days we just hung around Marcus's house playing video games and watching movies if the weather was rainy. His basement is decked out with huge beanbags, an old sofa, and a massive TV. We fired up the PlayStation and played co-op games like Overcooked or took turns on single player adventure games. We ordered pizzas for delivery and just kicked back together. Simple pleasures, you know?A big highlight was when my family went camping for a week up in the mountains. We have a big tent that sleeps six so my brother and I got to bring friends along. The campsite had hiking trails, a lake for fishing and canoeing, and a camp store that sold supplies and souvenirs. In the mornings we cooked bagels and eggs over the fire pit. For lunch we had sandwiches and snacks we packed in our daypacks while out on the trails. At night we got to have a campfire! My dad showed us the tricks for building a safe fire ring and getting it started with tinder and kindling. Once it was going strong, we took turns adding larger logs and pieces of firewood. We made s'mores with roasted marshmallows and chocolate sandwiched betweengraham crackers. So gooey and delicious! Sitting around the flickering flames, we told ghost stories and joked around. My friend Zach's stories were always the scariest though! One day we went on an 8-mile hike that went up and down some pretty tall peaks. The views from the tops were incredible - you could see for miles across valleys and mountain ranges. When we got to the summit finally, we felt so accomplished and proud of ourselves. We had a little picnic right there on the rocks to refuel before heading back down the other side of the mountain, munching trail mix and jerky. By the time we got back to camp, we were beat but full of excitement from our big adventure.Another fun part was renting a canoe and paddling around the lake one afternoon. I got to steer from the back while Marcus was our power paddler up front. The water was so calm and peaceful, with birds chirping along the shore and fish jumping up here and there to catch bugs. We had to be on the lookout for other canoers and boats though - didn't want any collisions! We found a cool shallow area by the shore where we parked the canoe for a bit and went wading in the refreshing water. Some friendly ducks even paddled up hoping we'd share our trail mix.On the drive home from camping, we made a pit stop in a cute little mountain town. It had all these locally-owned shops and restaurants lining the main street instead of chains you see everywhere else. We browsed for souvenirs in a little general store selling t-shirts, keychains, and other knick-knacks. My brother got this hilarious "Crazy Camper" hat with images of bears and tents all over it.For lunch we ate at the town's famous diner which had amazing burgers and milkshakes. There were scenic mountain murals painted all over the walls inside which gave it such a fun, kitschy vibe. We walked around after eating to admire some of the old mountain cabins and lodges in town. I would love to stay in one of those places if we come back to go skiing in the winter! The last few weeks of break I spent back here hanging with the neighborhood crew. We had an epic backyard olympics one day with events like sack races, water balloon tosses, pie eating contests, and more. My backyard has a nice flat area plus a wooded section in the back which created an awesome obstacle course we set up. We made medals out of construction paper and yarn to give out to the winners. By the end everyone was grass-stained, sweaty, and happy.Another neighborhood tradition is our annual barbecue and movie night. We set up a big projector screen and hangout area in the Jones' backyard using blankets, lawn chairs, and string lights. While the adults fired up the grills making burgers and hot dogs, all us kids were in charge of running snack stations full of chips, pretzels, fresh-popped popcorn, and baked goods. Once it got dark, we all settled in with our plates of food to watch a fun family movie like Pixar's latest or a classic comedy everyone knows and loves. My friend Devin's folks always go all out making it a fun and welcoming community event. That's just a glimpse into all the amazing things I got to experience over summer break - adventures both near and far, spending quality time with my favorite people, trying new activities and making lasting memories. As much as I loved all the freedom and excitement, I'm actually glad to be back in school and reunited with more friends. We swapped so many stories those first few days about our summer travels, family trips, camp experiences, backyard hijinks, and more. It made me appreciate having a dedicated place to learn, socialize, and take on new challenges. This school year is going to be awesome if summer was any indication. I can't wait to see what unfolds next!篇4My Summer Vacation AdventuresThis past summer was the best one yet! I had so many fun adventures and made lots of great memories. Let me tell you all about it.It started off with a bang on the last day of school. My best friend Jason and I were so excited for summer break. We made all kinds of plans to hang out, go to the pool, have sleepovers, and play video games. Our biggest plan though was to go to Camp Wilderness for two weeks in July. We had gone the previous summer and had an absolute blast.Camp was just as amazing as we had remembered. We went hiking, canoeing, roasted marshmallows over the campfire, and stayed up late every night telling spooky stories and goofing around. My favorite part was the canoe trip down the river. Jason and I were paddling partners and we made a little game of trying to splash each other as much as possible. We both ended up soaking wet and laughing hysterically. One night, we had a massive thunderstorm roll through camp. The rain was pouring down in sheets and the thunder was booming so loud it shook the windows of our cabin. A bunch of us decided to run out in the rain and dance around like crazy people. We were absolutely drenched from head to toe butdidn't even care. We just kept jumping around in the puddles and laughing like maniacs. The counselors finally made us come inside before we got struck by lightning, but it was an experience I'll never forget. After coming home from camp, my family took a road trip to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins in Colorado. The drive took forever since we live in Florida, but it was worth it. My cousins Josh and Emma are twins who are a year younger than me. We always have a ton of fun when we're together. This time, we went hiking almost every day in the Rocky Mountains. The views were breathtaking with the massive peaks, bright blue skies, and cute little chipmunks and squirrels running all over. We took about a million pictures to remember it.One of the days, we did a really strenuous hike that kicked our butts. We all thought we were going to die from exhaustion by the end. When we finally reached the top though, the scenery was so beautiful that it made the hard climb worth it. We could see for miles and miles in every direction. We stayed up there for a long time, just taking it all in and feeling like we were on top of the world. After Colorado, we drove over to New Mexico to go see some of the ancient Native American ruins and dwellings tuckedinto the cliffs and mesas. That was probably my favorite part of the whole trip. Exploring Chaco Canyon, Bandelier National Monument, and some of the other archaeological sites was like traveling back in time. I felt like an adventurer discovering these incredible structures built by the Ancestral Puebloans centuries ago. Imaging what life was like back then really sparked my imagination and curiosity about history. When we got back home to Florida, there was still about a month of summer left to enjoy. Jason and I spent most of our days either at the community pool or the beach. We worked on our tans, played outside from morning until night, and tried to soak up as much fun and sun as possible before school started again. We never wanted that freedom and relaxation to end.One of the funnest things we did was have a huge water balloon fight at the pool one afternoon. We bought hundreds of water balloons and split into two teams, then went to war. After about an hour, everyone was soaked and there were shreds of broken balloons all over the pool deck. We didn't care though –we were just happy to cut loose and act like little kids again. That's what I'll miss most about summer...the ability to be wild, silly, and carefree without a single responsibility weighing me down.As you can probably tell, I had an amazing summer full of adventures and making incredible memories with my family and friends. From exploring the outdoors to just being able to run around and act crazy, those warm months offered an escape from the usual routine of school, homework, and structured days. Part of me is sad that summer is over, but I know I'll always have those fun times locked away in my heart and mind. I'm feeling refreshed and recharged, and ready to make this new school year just as awesome!篇5My Unforgettable Summer VacationSummer vacation is the best time of the year for kids like me. No school, no homework, just pure freedom! This past summer was especially awesome. I had so many fun adventures and made lots of great memories. The summer kicked off with a huge party at my house for my 10th birthday in early June. My parents went all out decorating the backyard with balloons, streamers, and banners. We had a gigantic inflatable water slide that was super slippery and fast. I must have gone down it a hundred times! My friends from school all came over and we played tons of games like pin thetail on the donkey, musical chairs, and an epic water balloon toss. The food was amazing too - pizza, hot dogs, cake, ice cream, you name it! I got a ton of really cool presents like a new bike, video games, Lego sets, and more. It was the best birthday party ever.A couple weeks later, my family went on our annual summer trip down to the beach in Florida. We stayed at this really nice beachfront hotel with an awesome pool, lazy river, and waterslides. Every morning I would wake up early, slather on the sunscreen, and head straight for the ocean. I spent hours boogie boarding, building sandcastles, and hunting for cool shells and shark teeth in the surf. In the afternoons, we'd take a break and hang out by the pool. My little sister loved the kiddie pool and I got pretty good at pulling off slick moves on the diving boards. In the evenings, we'd walk along the beach, play putt-putt golf, orvthe go-kart racing at the fun park nearby. For dinner we'd get fresh seafood like shrimp, crab legs, and fish straight off the boats. So yummy! I never wanted that beach trip to end.Back at home, my friend Nick and I started up our summer business again - a lemonade and snack stand on the corner by the park. We'd mix up big pitchers of fresh lemonade (pink was our specialty!) and my mom would bake treats for us to sell. In the mornings, we'd set up our little stand with a big colorfulbanner, arrange the goodies, and wait for customers. A lot of people stopped by after walking their dogs or going for a jog. When sales were slow, we'd have competitions to see who could make the most ridiculous lemonade moustache! I think we made almost 100 over the whole summer, which we split right down the middle. Not bad for a couple of kidpreneurs!I also got to go to summer camp for two awesome weeks in July. It was a day camp, so I'd get on a bus bright and early and we'd get dropped off at this really cool campsite in the woods. Every day was packed with fun activities like hiking, canoeing, arts and crafts, archery, survival skills, and more. We'd bring our lunches and have huge picnics under the trees. My favorite was the camp's giant blob - a huge bag filled with air that you'd jump on to launch your friends up super high before they splashed into the lake! I got so good at making lanyards, bracelets, and friendship bracelet's at arts and crafts. Camp was just non-stop excitement from start to finish. I can't wait to go back next year!Looking back, this summer was just jam-packed with great memories from start to finish. I accomplished a lot, from making money at our lemonade stand to going on travels and having outside adventures. Most importantly, I got ton of quality time withmy family and friends. We made so many inside jokes andfunny stories that we'll be laughing about for years. Summer 2023 is going to be hard to beat, but I'm already counting down the days until next year! School? What school? Bring on the sun and fun!篇6My New English TextbookWow, a whole new English textbook for 8th grade! I was so excited when I got my books for this year. The English one is really thick with lots of units and lessons. Unit 1 is called "Making Connections" and it's all about communication and friendships. On the first page, there are some really cool pictures of kids from different countries waving and smiling at each other. It makes me think about how English helps us talk to people all around the world. That's pretty neat if you think about it!The first lesson was about greetings and introductions. We learned some new phrases for greeting people, like "It's nice to meet you" and "How do you do?" I liked practicing those with my classmates. Some of the phrases seem a little fancy andold-fashioned, but I guess it's good to know the formal ways too. Then we moved on to talking about favorite things. We had to introduce ourselves and our best friend to the class, sharing facts like favorite foods, hobbies, colors, etc. I told everyone that my best friend Amy loves pizza and dancing. She's really good at hip hop dance! For my favorite thing, I said video games. I'm totally obsessed with this new adventure game that just came out.One of the hardest parts was learning how to spell all our favorite things correctly. English spelling is so tricky sometimes! I kept mixing up the "ie" and "ei" in words like "friend" and "receive." My teacher said it will get easier with more practice. The reading passages in Unit 1 were actually pretty interesting. One was about pen pals and how making friends from other countries can help you learn about new cultures. Another one was about the importance of smiling and being friendly. It talked about how smiling can make you feel happier and how people are nicer to you when you're nice to them first. That's such a good reminder! There were also some conversation dialogues we had to practice. Those can be awkward at first, but I guess it helps prepare us for real conversations later on. We took turns playing the roles and reading the lines out loud. Some were betweenfriends making plans to hang out, and others were introducing people to each other. The vocabulary lists were long, but a lot of the words were useful ones that come up in everyday friend situations. Words like "chat, hangout, introduce, company, pleasant, mood," and more. Using flashcards and word games has been helping me remember them. For the writing activities, we had to write a short paragraph about our best friend, describing their personality and interests. I really liked reading what my friends wrote about me! It was cool to see how they view me. Some wrote about my sense of humor and others mentioned my skills at basketball. The grammar lessons in this unit covered things like subject-verb agreement, verb tenses for describing routines, and using adjectives to describe people. Not exactly the most thrilling topics, but I know it's important to get that stuff right. The worksheets and exercises helped drill it into our brains.Overall, I'm enjoying Unit 1 so far! Making connections and learning how to communicate better with friends and people around the world is pretty important. Sure, some of the activities feel a little forced or cheesy. But at least it's relevant to my actual life, unlike some of the stuff we've had to learn in past years.I'm looking forward to the rest of the units too. From the table of contents, it looks like we'll cover social media and technology soon. That should be engaging since we're all obsessed with our phones and apps these days! Hopefully it has some advice on boundaries and staying safe online. There's also a unit later about careers and future goals. That could be fun to explore different job possibilities. I've been thinking I might want to be a video game designer when I grow up. Or maybe a YouTuber! An English degree could help with either of those paths.Anyway, that's my take on the exciting world of 8th grade English so far. Let me know if you need any friend advice - I'm basically an expert now after Unit 1! Just kidding...kind of. I'll catch you later! This book report is getting way too long.。

My favorite chores(我最喜欢的家务事)I am Tom. I am 14. I am a boy. I can do many chores. For example: cleaning my room, doing the dishes and taking out the rubbish. But I can’t fold the clothes, wash the clothes or cook dinner.I like to clean the room because I want to stay a clean place. I also like to do the dishes because it is easy. But I like taking out the rubbish best because I can play on the road.I dislike to fold the clothes because it is very difficult. I can’t do it well . I don’t like to wash the clothes because it makes me tired. I hate to cook dinner because I do it badly. The food I made is not delicious. But I would like to do more chores because I understand we need to share the housework. Then we can have a clean and comfortable home.My chores last weekend(上周的家务事)I am Cindy. I am 14.I am a girl. I can do many chores. For example: cleaning my room, doing the dishes, taking out the rubbish and washing the clothes.I am good at cleaning my room, so my room is always clean and tidy. I am strong in taking out the rubbish because I can have a rest on the road. I can sweep the kitchen floor well because it is very easy. But I can’t make my bed because it is difficult for me.Last weekend I did some housework at home. I washed the clothes with my sister, for I want to wear clean shirts every day. I did the dishes in the kitchen after meals because I don’t want my mom to be so tired. I cleaned the whole room and took out the rubbish. I didn’t like to do the dishes because it made me feel sick. I didn’t like to sweep the floor because it made me tired. But next weekend I will help to do some chores because I think doing chores is good for us.Unit 1 Could you please clean your room?Dear Sir or Madam:I believe that students should help out with the housework at home. I disagree that it’s parents’ job to do the chores and housework. I think it is unfair for children to depend on their parents all the time. I think children should play a part in keeping their house clean and tidy, because they are one of the members in the family. For example, they should make their own beds and clean their own rooms, because doing chores helps to develop children’s independence and teaches them how to look after themselves. It also helps them to understand the idea of fairness.Yours truly,SamLast Saturday morning, my parents went out to visit their friends. After breakfast, I did the dishes. After that, I began to clean the living room. I swept the floor, cleaned the window and took out the rubbish. At around 11:00, I began to cook lunch. When my parents came back home, they saw the clean living room and some delicious food. They were very happy and said to me, “Dear, you really did a good job! Thank you.”Nancy 请求Sandy帮助她准备生日聚会,请以她的身份写一封求助信。
