Module 2 Unit 1 ReadingBoy missing , police puzzledChenhuiNov. 1. 2016

华婉清Boy missing, policed puzzled(Unit 1, Book 2, Grade 10, Oxford English)Good morning, dear judges. It’s a great honor for me to present my instructionaldesign. Next, I will interpret the reading text “Boy missing, police puzzled”, takenfrom Oxford English Book 2 Unit 1. My interpretation consists of six aspects: analysisof teaching material, analysis of students, teaching methods, teaching objectives, teaching procedures and blackboard design. Now, I will give a brief introduction to the teaching material and students analysis. This reading text is a news article about a missing boy, whose disappearance was thought to be connected with a UFO. Though a lot of effort has been made to investigate the case, it still remains a mystery. My students are supposed to be ingrade 10. They have learned English for about 10 years. They can both express themselves and understand others in English. Besides, they keep a strong curiosityabout the detective story.Based on the above analyses, I design the following teaching objectives: by the endof this lesson, students will be able to know how to read a newspaper article. Theywill be able to predict the general idea of a newspaper article through reading its titleand get its most important information through reading its lead. To achieve these teaching objectives, the situational teaching methods will be used. I will set up the interesting situation gradually to cultivate students’ interest.Following these understandings, my teaching procedures consist of three parts:pre-reading, while-reading and post-reading.Finally,it comes to my blackboard design. On the top, there is the title of this lesson. Besides, there is a table about reading strategy below the title.Unit 1 Boy missing, police puzzledThat’s all for my interpretation. Thank you.。
