以下是XX收集的《汤姆叔叔的小屋英文读后感》,仅供大家阅读参考!最畅销的小说《汤姆叔叔的小屋》英文读后感一:These days I've just finished the novel Uncle Tom's Cabin that left a really deep impression on me and we can see.It is a book written in 1852 in response to the passage of the Fugitive Slave Law, Uncle Tom's Cabin has been considered as the most influential anti-slavery novel in that period and described by Stowe herself as a “series of sketches” describing the human cruelty of slavery, opens with a description of Arthur Shelby's Kentucky plantation during the antebellum period. There are several impressive characters in this novel, George who is clever and brave;Harry, a beautiful and talented child who sings dances and mimes;Mrs. Shelby, a very religious woman;Sambo andQimbo and so on. The major character Uncle Tom who was the most impressive in this novel was a devout Christian. He endured the miserable fate bravely and aroused the white's sympathy for slaves with his Christ's sacrifice and the tolerance of returning good for evil. This novel focuses on the distinctive personalities of Uncle Tom deeply influenced by Christianity and the important role Uncle Tom's Cabin playing on abolition; and the Significance of “Uncle Tom” to the harmonious world's development, and the effect on modern people. In the book, at the beginning, the author presents us a very beautiful image of a rather harmonious family who live a happy life. However, that beautiful image couldn't last long, the darkness came soon. The master of this happy family, Uncle Tom was arranged into a difficult situation. As Shelby, the not cruel master, he has incurred serious debts- prompting him sell some slaves to avoid financial ruin, so Uncle Tom, Shelby's loyal servant since childhood was sold to Mr. Haley, the slave trader. Uncle Tom remained loyal to his master, despite his betrayal and the risk of death at the cruel hands of a new master. The slaves at the plantation werevery mournful, but Tom remained placid and tried to read his Bible for comfort. On the steamboat to New Orleans, where Tom was to be sold, Tom befriended an angelic little girl, “Little Eva” St. Clare. Uncle Tom saved the five-year-old beauty from drowning, and she convinced her father to buy Tom for her own family. In her family, Tom enjoyed his life because of the girl's love; Tom's contentment does not last, however, because Eva soon falls ill. Dying, Eva asked Mr. St. Clare to free Tom after her death. But Mr. St. Clare is so sad by her death that he never legally freed Tom before he himself was killed trying to mediate a barroom scuffle. Mrs. St. Clare sold the slaves to settle her husband's debts and Tom was sold to Simon Legree who was so violent that beat his slaves brutally. At last, when Mr. Shelby, finally found Uncle Tom, he was almost died. After Tom was dead and buried, Shelby went back and freed his slaves. As we all can see that Uncle Tom's Cabin was an anti-slavery novel and it was even considered as one factor that caused the Civil War. In the novel, the slaves were sold from one place to another frequently, and their fate was tragic, with no exception- just like Uncle Tom, no matter he was under the control of kind masters or evil masters, he can't escape the misfortune of being sold from one master to another. We can't see any human right of them, so terrible. As someone said, with more people realizing the inhumanity of slavery in the 19th century, slavery became one of the most important issues and it became more violent year by year in American society. However, slavery was not abolished irrevocably until ratification of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution in 1865, following the Civil War. After the passage of Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote this novel Uncle Tom's Cabin which publicized the evil of slavery to a wide audience. Now we are in the 21st century, we may never come across such kind of thing. However, this book can always remind of us that there ever has existed this evil and we can't let it happen again. And “equality”、“human right ” can't just be a slogan, we should make it come true really and always.最畅销的小说《汤姆叔叔的小屋》英文读后感二:Sometime ago, I read a person's fame Khvostov of as "Uncle Tom's cabin." She was born into a respectable family in 1811. Her father was a famous American divine who worshiped and feared God very much. She had two brothers and an older sister. As for Harriet’ career, firstly, she worked for her sister in Western Female Institute. Later, she changed her idea and converted her lifelong interest into writing into magazine stories. She got married in 1836 and bore seven children in all.In 1850, she returned to New England. And her novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin which was originally entitled The Man That Was a Thing became popular in February, 1851. She also wrote something else such as A Key to Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Dred: A Tale of the Great Dismal Swamp. The historical significance of Stowe's anti-slavery writing has tended to draw attention away from her other work, and from her work's literary significance. Her work was admittedly uneven. At its worst, it indulged in a romanticized Christian sensibility that was much in favor with the audience of her time, but that found little sympathy or credibility with modern readers. At her best, Stowe was an early and effective realist. Her settings were often accurately and described in details. Her portraits of local social life, particularly with minor characters, reflected an awareness of the complexity of the culture she lived in, and an ability to communicate that culture to others. In her commitment to realism, and her serious narrative use of local dialect, Stowe predated works like Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn by 30 years, and influenced later regionalist writers including Sarah Oren Jewett and Mary Wilkins Freeman. It is without question that Uncle Tom’s Cabin was an overnight success. It sole 350,000 copies during the first year, and since then has been published in some forty languages and has been read by millions of peoplearound the world. The power of the novel unquestionably comes from the investment of the author’s sense of her won suffering and oppression (as well as her determination to be free) in the characters of Tom and his fellow slave Eliza, the protagonists of the book’s two main plots. The story:The story happened in America in the late 19th century, when the slavery was very popular in the south of the USA. Evil times had befallen the house of Shelby. Mr. Shelby, Tom’s master, was in debt. In order to pay back the debt, he had to sell one of his slaves to his chief creditor, a New Orleans slave dealer named Haley. Unfortunately, Tom was chosen. While they were discussing the transaction, Eliza’s child Harry, came into the room. Greedy Haley wanted to buy Harry too. Mr. Shelby had no choice but to give in. Eliza (Mrs. Shelby's personal maid, the wife of George and the mother of little Harry.) heard their conversation by accident. She planned to escape with her child and succeeded. So did her husband George Harris. And finally the family got reunited. However, poor Tom did not do what Eliza did. His young master promised to buy him back as long as he had money. On board the boat bound for New Orleans, kind-hearted Uncle Tom saved the life young Eva St. Clare, and in gratitude Eva’s father purchased the slave. Later, Uncle Tom and Eva became close friends and lived a happy life there. However, with the death of the girl and her father, Tom was sold again. This time, he was not so lucky. At a public auction he was sold to a brutal plantation owner called Simon Legree. Tom was tortured there. His master ordered him to beat other slaves. When Tom refused to follow his order, Legree had him flogged until he fainted. What was worse, two of his female slaves pretended to escape and went into hiding, and Tom was suspected to know where they had gone and was beaten until he could neither speak nor stand. Two days later, Tom’s young master George Shelby arrived to buy him back, but he was too late, for Tom was dying. After George Shelby returned to Kentucky he freed all his slaves when his father died. He said he freed them in the name of Uncle Tom.The success of Uncle Tom’s Cabin did a great service to the anti-slavery movement and brought its author, Mrs. Stowe an immediate popularity. President Lincoln praised her as “the little women who wrote the book that made this big war”. The American poet Henry Longfellow once said that Uncle Tom’s Cabin was the most successful one in the literature history. It is true that Uncle Tom’s Cabin is one of the most unusual books of all American literature. It gives a fairly accurate picture of southern plantation life. The novelist’s indignation against slavery, her sympathy for the oppressed slave, her aspiration for abolishing the institution and profound humanitarianism were all woven into the novel so skillfully that the audience would naturally become interested in the actions and the fate of characters. Thus the emotional effect and social significance made Uncle Tom’s Cabin the first well-known sociological novel in American literature. Here in the following, I would like to say something about the writing skills in this book. First, Stowe's writing style combines vivid characterization anddescription with realistic dialogue. When describing characters, for example, Stowe connects one’s outward appearance to his personality. For example, when she describes Haley, the slavery dealer, she says: “He was a short, thick-set man, with coarse, commonplace features, and that swaggering air of pretension which marks a low man who is trying to elbow his way upward in the world. He was much over-dressed, in a gaudy vest of many colors arranged with a flaunting tie, quite in keeping with the general air of the man.” Haley's physical appearance is a metaphor for his "new rich" status. The description alludes that his ostentation hides vulgarity beneath. Another important aspect of Stowe's writing style is her diction, particularly the manner in which the white characters refer to slaves. When trading, Haley refers to Eliza, Tom, and Harry as "articles." Statements such as "these critters an't like white folks" symbolize the white ideology of an inherent difference between the races. Referring to slaves as "critters," or animals, serves as justification of treating them as such.Analysis of the characters in the book:Actually, the two protagonists of this novel are worth appreciation. I like both of them. Happiness and sadness, beauty and ugliness are all shown well in this book; I was deeply moved by it. Apart from cruelty of the slaver, there was much love in this book, love of the mother, love between couples, love to people, love to country, love to the world, and love to God. I was moved by these love but annoyed by the cruelty. In this novel, Eliza was full of love, love to her child, love to the future, and love to her husband. I admired her a lot, though Eliza was very content at the Shelby plantation. She did not miss or question her lack of personal autonomy under the master-slave relationship, but rather was grateful for masters who had instilled in her Christian ways. But when she knew that her son was to be sold, she became a brave woman. She dared to fight for her freedom. When she knew that her child was to be sold to a cruel slaver, she decided to escape, no matter what difficulties she would face. She just headed, without hesitation. Her love to her child surpassed her fear to the slaver. Her love was so deep that she could even pay her life to save her child. Whata brave woman! What a great mother and wife! But Tom formed a sharp contrast to Eliza. Tom, an old slave and the protagonist of the novel, Tom's two most prevalent qualities were his inherent goodness and piety. He was a passive Christ-figure who consistently forgiven the wrongs committed against him and turned to God in times of crisis. From learning to read the Bible and write letters to his kin, Tom was consistently trying to improve himself despite the limits placed upon him by slavery. Tom also served as a Christian leader for the other slaves in the novel. He knew Eliza would escape and he was for her escaping. He had formed the habit of obeying his master when he was very young. So, even when he knew he was to be sold to New Orleans, he accepted the fact. He was loyal to his master; he would like to do everything his master asked him to do. He was really a very good person, who loved God and every person of the world .He was a devout Christian .He was so devout in Christian that he didn't yield to the slave owner although he was ill-treated so much .In the end, as a result of the cruel maltreating from his master, he died, which made me very sad. Such a good and honestblack man died so tragically! That was really sad! On the other hand, law at that time was to blame. Tom formed the habit of obeying his master’s orders just because the law was unfair to the blacks. But, fortunately, it was his death that irritated the blacks. And the blacks began to fight against their masters and for their freedom.Maybe we can say as what President Lincoln had said: the little women who wrote the book that made this big war. True, she is a little woman. But it was the little woman who made hundreds of thousands of black people stood up again. It was she who contributed a lot to the American anti-slavery. It was she who helped the blacks to regain their rights and freedom. It was she who helped American people to unite. It was she who helped the black people to live a peaceful life. Black people will always remember you; people in the world will also remember you!。

Freedom and EqualityRecently, I have read Mrs. Stowe's famous work, "Uncle Tom's Cabin." Honest, kind-hearted, religious Uncle Tom; courageous and prudent, smart, studious of mixed slave George; mercenary, ruthless slave traders, Hailey; human nature destroys, conscience is ruined in the Liege Lei; a sense of justice, but the drift The St. Clair and other lifelike characters left me a deep impression. However, I am the most memorable is the intelligent and lively, but untamed, and later was transferred teach self-esteem may love slave girl TOM.The reason this story touched me, because it truly depicts the United States was the tragic situation of slavery in the old society, the old society of the inhuman treatment of slaves, the performance of head. Hero Tom good faith, is an honest old slaves. He is a devout Christian, believes in God, filled with longing for a better life. However, the fate of the tortured face, he repeatedly struggles with patience instead of resistance, only submissive, eventually murdered by slave owners under the lash. Hero Tom is not an ordinary slave, the slave system is that no one can do in the great man, even the holy God can not be compared.TOM blacks got the most black, a pair of round, bright eyes, like glittering like glass beads, looks a bit strange, her face was shrewd and cunning combination of Kyrgyzstan's wonderful, like a goblin-like. She loves to steal, stealing, after also lie assumed a look of innocence; her misbehavior on the implementation of all the mess of her revenge, mischief; she would take advantage of the master is away, crazy busy for hours, to home mess. Her owner exhausted all means to punish her, educate her, trying to change her bad habits, but no, this is only because there is no love!Think about it! This was originally a lovely child, born to slavery, her master of all belongs to them, the so-called master of her fate. Her childhood growing up in the master's beatings, made her develop a liar, a bad habit of stealing things, that her original beauty, purity of heart tarnished. In this there is no dignity, experiencing being separated all day flogged and circumstances, how can we have a noble character and firm in faith? Only pure, beautiful, selfless love can save her soul! When the angelicEva on her when she said love, TOM cast eyes with tears, her heart by a ray of sunshine of love. Sure enough, TOM later changed for the better, she managed to get care for other people. This is abuse, never achieve the effect of preaching, the words full of love beyond all! This is the power of love! From this story, I saw Tom and others helpful good quality, but also to see the world Jia chou E, of the United States a deeper understanding of history - the sun around the world is not the original one, there are many of the dark side. We need to continue efforts to avoid such a tragedy repeat itself in modern society. In our lives, there are many children like as TOM. Their bad behavior, not love, listen to reason, then do not hate him, to understand with love, tolerance, stripped away a layer of yellow green shoots things, numb with love to the hearts of probation. To always remember; the power of love is great, supreme! "Uncle Tom's Cabin," published this masterpiece has been 150 years, it has been able to make the readers today are still impressed, but also because of the book to promote the love and humanity in the disappearance of slavery today already is the eternal pursuit of mankind.Freedom and Equality---- Reading after“Uncle Tom’s Cabin”台头二中刘娜。

汤姆叔叔的小屋英文读后感
汤姆叔叔的小屋英文读后感"Uncle Tom's Cabin" is a powerful and impactful novel that left a deep impression on me. Through vivid storytelling and compelling characters, Harriet Beecher Stowe skillfully exposes the harsh realities of slavery and the profound impact it has on both the enslaved and the enslavers. The novel follows the lives of several characters, with Tom being the central figure. Tom, a kind-hearted and devoutly religious slave, endures immense suffering and cruelty at the hands of his various owners. Despite the hardships he faces, Tom remains steadfast in his faith and exhibits unwavering kindness and love towards others. His resilience and unwavering moral compass make him a truly heroic figure.Stowe uses Tom's story to shed light on the horrors of slavery and the dehumanization experienced by the enslaved population. She exposes the physical, emotional, and psychological abuse inflicted on slaves, contrasting it with their unwavering spirit and humanity. Through Tom and other characters like Eliza, who escapes slavery with her child, Stowe brings to the forefront the lengths people will go to in search of freedom and a better life for themselves and their loved ones. One of the most powerful aspects of this novel is Stowe's portrayal of the two different types of slave owners: the cruel and heartless like Simon Legree, and the relatively kind and compassionate like Augustine St. Clare. Stowe does not hold back in condemning the institution of slavery, as even the supposedly "kind" owners perpetuate a system that treats human beings as property. Bydemonstrating the varying degrees of sympathy shown by these owners, Stowe challenges readers to question their own complicity in a society that tolerates such inhumane practices."Uncle Tom's Cabin" is a novel that elicits both deep sadness and admiration. It is neither an easy nor a pleasant read, as it confronts readers with the harsh realities of slavery. However, it is an important literary work that serves as a reminder of the injustices that were once prevalent in our world. Stowe's ability to create multidimensional characters who encompass the range of human emotions adds an emotional depth to the narrative, making it an unforgettable reading experience.Overall, "Uncle Tom's Cabin" is a thought-provoking and emotionally charged novel that challenges readers to confront the dark chapters of history. It serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion, empathy, and the fight for justice.。

《汤姆叔叔的小屋》英文读后感篇1Joy depicts the crisis of faith that overcomes Rabbi Banish of Komarov, who, having buried his four sons and two daughters. Only through the mercy of the God he has denied, manifest in a radiant vision of the dead Rebecca, his beloved youngest daughter, is the rabbi’s belief restor ed. The sense of wonder and the touch of heavenly joy that linger after the vision dissolves convince Rabbi Banish of the folly of judging God’s actions by human standards. The rabbi has interpreted the apparent tragedy of his children’s premature deaths as evidence of God’s alienation, forgetting that God is by definition inscrutable. That God’s purpose transcends man’s ability to comprehend it is made clear to the expiring rabbi when the family dead approach his deathbed with arms outstretched to enfold him among them. For theirs is the kingdom of heaven to which a loving God has called them; and their deaths have evidenced not God’s wrath but his grace.A version of Rabbi Banish’s deathbed revelation appears to Rabbi Nechemia in Something Is There. At twenty-seven he is already racked by the doubts that torment Rabbi Banish. So shaken is his belief in God that he deserts his rabbinical post in provincial Bechev for the flesh-posts of Warsaw. Although the prostitutes, unclean food, and shady business dealings which hewitnesses there hold no attraction for the erstwhile rabbi, they intensify his revulsion from the world created by God and therefore his alienation from God himself. Unlike Rabbi Bainish, whose intimations of immortality and consequent rededication to God precede his radiant deathbed vision, Rabbi Nechemia cannot allay his doubts until the very moment of death, when a light he never knew was there flickered in hid brain. While his dying words—something is there—resolve his crisis of faith, they come too late to affect the spiritual renewal attained by Rabbi Banish. No explicit promise of immortality, let along of salvation, attends Rabbi Nechemia’s vision. Perhaps grace is accorded Rabbi Banish because his doubt is triggered by devastating personal losses, and withheld from Rabbi Nechemia because his despair is the bitter fruit of idle speculation about the unknown. Whatever the reason, relatively few of Singer’s characters are granted at the moment of death the transcendent vision of unity between man and God that appears to Rabbi Banish in Joy. For the fortunate few, release from time into eternity is affected by a divine visitation which obliterates distinctions between past and present, living and dead. These kinds of characters are lost in their world because of the seducement of the material world. They doubt their formal faith and gradually give up what they believed. But after they have experienced so much hardship, they realize that they cannot adapt to the life of the outer world so they regress to the former life with formal faith. They realize the importance of God and they begin to think seriously about the relationship between man and God. At last they find their right way of their life.《汤姆叔叔的小屋》英文读后感篇2These days Ive just finished the novel Uncle Toms Cabin thatleft a really deep impression on me and we can see.It is a book written in 1852 in response to the passage of the Fugitive Slave Law, Uncle Toms Cabin has been considered as the most influential anti-slavery novel in that period and described by Stowe herself as a “series of sketches” describing the human cruelty of slavery, opens with a description of Arthur Shelbys Kentucky plantation during the antebellum period. There are several impressive characters in this novel, George who is clever and brave;Harry, a beautiful and talented child who sings dances and mimes;Mrs. Shelby, a very religious woman;Sambo and Qimbo and so on. The major character Uncle Tom who was the most impressive in this novel was a devout Christian. He endured the miserable fate bravely and aroused the whites sympathy for slaves with his Christs sacrifice and the tolerance of returning good for evil. This novel focuses on the distinctive personalities of Uncle Tom deeply influenced by Christianity and the important role Uncle Toms Cabin playing on abolition; and the Significance of “Uncle Tom” to the harmonious worlds development, and the effect on modern people. In the book, at the beginning, the author presents us a very beautiful image of a rather harmonious family who live a happy life. However, that beautiful image couldnt last long, the darkness came soon. The master of this happy family, Uncle Tom was arranged into a difficult situation. As Shelby(), the not cruel master, he has incurred serious debts- prompting him sell some slaves to avoid financial ruin, so Uncle Tom, Shelbys loyal servant since childhood was sold to Mr.Haley, the slave trader. Uncle Tom remained loyal to his master, despite his betrayal and the risk of death at the cruelhands of a new master. The slaves at the plantation were very mournful, but T om remained placid and tried to read his Bible for comfort. On the steamboat to New Orleans, where Tom was to be sold, Tom befriended an angelic little girl, “Little Eva” St. Clare. Uncle Tom saved the five-year-old beauty from drowning, and she convinced her father to buy Tom for her own family. In her family, Tom enjoyed his life because of the girls love; Toms contentment does not last, however, because Eva soon falls ill. Dying, Eva asked Mr. St. Clare to free Tom after her death. But Mr. St. Clare is so sad by her death that he never legally freed Tom before he himself was killed trying to mediate a barroom scuffle. Mrs. St. Clare sold the slaves to settle her husbands debts and Tom was sold to Simon Legree who was so violent that beat his slaves brutally. At last, when Mr. Shelby, finally found Uncle T om, he was almost died. After Tom was dead and buried, Shelby went back and freed his slaves. As we all can see that Uncle T oms Cabin was an anti-slavery novel and it was even considered as one factor that caused the Civil War. In the novel, the slaves were sold from one place to another frequently, and their fate was tragic, with no exception- just like Uncle Tom, no matter he was under the control of kind masters or evil masters, he cant escape the misfortune of being sold from one master to another. We cant see any human right of them, so terrible. As someone said, with more people realizing the inhumanity of slavery in the 19th century, slavery became one of the most important issues and it became more violent year by year in American society. However, slavery was not abolished irrevocably until ratification of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution in 1865, following the Civil War. After the passage of Fugitive SlaveAct of 1850, Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote this novel Uncle Toms Cabin which publicized the evil of slavery to a wide audience. Now we are in the 21st century, we may never come across such kind of thing. However, this book can always remind of us that there ever has existed this evil and we cant let it happen again. And “equality” 、“human right ” cant just be a slogan, we should make it come true really and always.《汤姆叔叔的小屋》英文读后感篇3After I finished readingUncle T om’s Cabin,It felt like I just finished watching a movie and I myself was a character in the movie, which clearly disclose the nature of capitalism. Tom’s new owner made him live a more unbearable life, what’s worse, Tom didn’t change his mind. Until the last second Tom’s last owner regretted his decision and wanted to bail Tom out, but, unfortunately, Tom died of that kind of misery. This article analyzes the characteristics of loyalty, kindness and generosity embodied in Uncle Tom who was full of kindness was the true hero in the history of American novels, it also points out that T om was very tolerant and weak to the cruelty of sla一very and that the black must fight back to gain freedom. Though died of sla一veholders’ persecution, Tom was a winner in the spirit, which in defiance of the physical injure , perhaps as such,Tom got the right to enjoy his dream life in the hea一ven. As a white, Mrs. Stow wrote this article, the greatest anti-sla 一very work of America in the 19thcentury, to express her idea to appeal the people in the south to stand up to fight against the sla一very sustained in the South of America, everybody in America, including the white, should sympathize with those black sla一ves on their miserable fate.Nowadays, people still regard Tom as a symbol of never giving up pursuing to realize his value. Uncle Tom's Cabin_汤姆叔叔的小屋英语读后感800字_高三英语作
Uncle Tom's Cabin_汤姆叔叔的小屋英语读后感_高三英语作文Uncle Tom s cabin is the American writer Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote a reflection of slavery of the giant, is a great anti slavery declaration. It set off the climax of the American abolition movement, and had a profound impact on the people of the world against racial discrimination and freedom and democracy. This novel mainly tells the slave owner Hilby to repay the debt, decided to sell loyal Tom and harry. Allie is not a check, at the mercy of the hell-bent to be docile and obedient slaves, when she happened to know to sell the news of his son, Harry overnight with a successful escape. Submissive and obedient to the master he is another kind of experience. He was willing to be sold to slave traders by his owners. After being self saved by the girl s father Mr. San Claire bought, when their father died, Tom was finally cruel Marie San Claire sold to slave Legre a murderous there was severely killed with a whip.At the end of nineteenth Century, the United States there is a devastating dignity of the slave system, this system is the backward area of black Africa, and forced to the new world, when the sale of livestock, suffered the sale of slaves began their life. After the slave of career. Uncle Tom s cabin is a tragic story that happened duringthat period. After reading this story, I feel sympathy for the poor uncle Tom, sympathy for his poor identity, sympathy for his miserable fate; I hate cruel slave and a slave merchant, hate their brutal fierce and hated them indifferent; I also feel this kind of injustice of slavery, is the system the dark is uneven, uneven system is not equal; but I felt great admiration for president Lincoln, admire his determination to abolish slavery, abolition of slavery to admire his real action. When I saw Legree ordered Tom to say two escaped slave whereabouts, uncle Tom would rather die than say, heavy whip mercilessly fell upon Tom, was finally beaten to death, I could not help heart startled, excited, I move for uncle Tom s upright! My master legrip brutal anger! I feel indignant for the oppressed slave! But those who do bad things, sucked dry meat slaves blood slaves slaves and even more outrageous. In the slave society at that time, black people belonged to the lowest class. They were not free, abused, beaten, bought and sold at will. The good uncle Tom helped so many people, but finally he was tortured to death. If he dared to run away like Ellie, he might not have that tragic fate. Therefore, I think that my life should be themselves, can not be submissive, listening at the mercy of others. In this book, the person I admire most is Eva, Eva is not only a beautiful angel face, pure heart, can share everything, treat everyone equally, regardless of is the humble people, if they have difficulties or need help, she will do whatever they can to to help them. However, her own fate can not be changed - she has a selfish mother, she never felt the selfless and great maternal love, but she still love her mother, because she was born with a lover s heart. Although her life was not happy, she thought she had at least one home and had a shelter. Although she was tortured by pain all the time, although she could only survive the last moment of her life, she felt love. Her kind heart made her free at the last moment of her life.Uncle Tom s cabin after reading this book, I understand that behind the polite capitalism, is ruthless exploitation of slaves and qiaoguxisui; on the day of the American prosperity, is tightly contact and evil of slavery together. But so far, there are still some Americans who discriminate against blacks. How to expect every country in the world to protect the weak, so that people do not hunger, cold, no bullying oppression, how to expect every corner of the world can be equal, no hierarchical concept, I hope this kind of crime and discrimination will always disappear in this beautiful earth!。

Its simple plot relates the misfortunes of the loyal Christian slave, Tom, who, deprived of familial love and affection and destined for the harsh life of plantation slavery, doesn’t rebel or curse God, but philosophically aepts his cruel fate. He could leap overboard Cold River to save the drowning daughter of a wealthy white passenger who gratefully rewards the brave Negro by buying him.Tom seems destined, now, to live out his life in a pleasant New Orleans mansion, spending his days reading Bible aloud and singing religious hymns with the angelic little Eva. But the child dies of tuberculosis, havingfirst elicited a promise from her father to free the loyal Tom. The father is killed , however, in a brawl before he can fulfill his pledge and his widow is forced to sell Tom, who bees the property of the heartless Simon Legree. He soon learns how really harsh the life of plantation can be, but he remains true to his religious training, elated by his pious aeptance of God’s will. Harassed by the evil Legree ,Tom displays his Christian charity by refusing toflog another slave .Simon Legree may not own Tom’ssoul ,but he can do as he chooses with the body, and he orders two of his slaves, Sambo and Quimba, to whip the unresisting Tom, whose only responses to the merciless beating is a plea to stop in order that Legree might save his own soul.On his deathbed, Tom charitably forgives the harsh Legree. Ironically, he lives long enough to witness the arrival of his former master’s son, e to redeem the family pledge by buying him back and granting his freedom. The theme of Uncle Tom’s Cabin, for its all apparent simplicity, is representative of much of 19th century American fiction of the good man opposed by evil personified under the circumstance of slavery. What strikes me is Tom’s loyalty to his religious belief. All of us has our own belief , it plays a most important part in our life, it supports us whenever we are caught in rough conditions ,it helps us get out of the dark to see the sunrise, it teach us how to adapt ourselves to different circumstances.Life is full of ups and downs; we should hold ourbelief to fight against them to realize our goals!。

汤姆叔叔的小屋英文读后感
汤姆叔叔的小屋英文读后有感《汤姆叔叔的小屋》发布了一部反奴隶小说,下边是XX为大家收集整理的。
Joy depicts the crisis of faith that overes RabbiBanish of Komarov, who, having buried his four sonsand two daughters. Only through the mercy of the Godhe has denied, manifest in a radiant vision of the dead Rebecca, his beloved youngest daughter, is the rabbi ’s belief restored. The sense of wonder and the touchof heavenly joy that linger after the vision dissolves convince Rabbi Banish of the folly of judging God ’s actions by human standards. The rabbi has interpreted the apparent tragedy of his children ’ s premature deaths as evidence of God ’ s alienation, forgetting that God is by definition inscrutable. That God’s purpose transcends man’s ability to prehend it is made clear to the expiring rabbi when the family dead approach his deathbed with arms outstretched toenfold him among them. For theirs is the kingdom ofheaven to which a loving God has called them; and theirdeaths have evidenced not God’s wrath but his grace.A version of Rabbi Banish ’s deathbed revelation appears to Rabbi Nechemia in Something Is There. Attwenty-seven he is already racked by the doubts thattorment Rabbi Banish. So shaken is his belief in Godthat he deserts his rabbinical post in provincial Bechev for the flesh-posts of Warsaw. Although the prostitutes, unclean food, and shady business dealings which he witnesses there hold no attraction for theerstwhile rabbi, they intensify his revulsion from the world created by God and therefore his alienationfrom God himself. Unlike Rabbi Bainish, whose intimations of immortality and consequent rededicationto God precede his radiant deathbed vision, Rabbi Nechemia cannot allay his doubts until the very moment of death, when a light he never knew was there flickeredin hid brain. While his dying words — something is there —resolve his crisis of faith, they e too late to affect thespiritual renewal attained by Rabbi Banish. No explicit promise of immortality, let along of salvation, attends Rabbi Nechemia ’ s vision. Perhaps grace isaccorded Rabbi Banish because his doubt is triggeredby devastating personal losses, and withheld from RabbiNechemia because his despair is the bitter fruit ofidle speculation about the unknown. Whatever thereason, relatively few of Singer ’ s characters aregranted at the moment of death the transcendent visionof unity between man and God that appears to RabbiBanish in Joy. For the fortunate few, release from timeinto eternity is affected by a divine visitation whichobliterates distinctions between past and present, living and dead. These kinds of characters are lost in their worldbecause of the seducement of the material world. The slaves at the plantation were very mournful, but Tom remained placid and tried to read his Bible for comfort. On the steamboat to New Orleans, where Tom was to be sold, Tom befriended an angelic little girl, “Little Eva” St. Clare. Uncle T om saved the five-year-old beauty from drowning, and she convinced her father to buy Tom for her own family. In her family, Tom enjoyed his life because of the girl's love; Tom's contentment does not last, however, because Eva soon falls ill. Dying, Eva asked Mr. St. Clare to free Tom after her death. But Mr. St. Clare is so sad by her death that he never legally freed Tom before he himselfwas killed trying to mediate a barroom scuffle. Mrs. And “equality” 、“human right ” can't just be a slogan, we should make it come true really and always.。

Uncle Tom's cabin is frequently criticized by people who have never read the work, myself included.I decided I finally needed to read it and judge it for myself. And I have to say, that for all its shortcomings,it is really a remarkable book. The standout characteristics of this book are the narrative drive, the vivid characters, the sprawling cast, the several completely different worlds that were masterfully portrayed, and the strong female characters in the book. The portrayal of slavery and its effects on families and on individuals is gut-wrenching-when Uncle Tom has to leave his family, and when Eliza may lose little Harry, one feels utterly desolate. As for flaws, yes,Mrs.Stowe does sermonize a fair bit,and her sentences and pronounc. But in her time, she went far beyond the efforts of most of her contemporaries to both see and portray her African-American brothers and sisters are equal to her.The best way she did this was in her multi-dimensional portrayal of her Negro characters--they are,in fact, more believable and more diverse than her white characters.Yes,at times her portrayal of Little Eva and Uncle Tom is overdone at times--they are a little cardboard in places--but both,Uncle Tom especially, are overall believable, and very inspiring. The rest of the Negro characters-George Harris,Eliza,Topsy,Cassie,Emmeline,Chloe,Jane and Sara,Mammy,Alphonse,Prue, and others, span the whole spectrumof humanity--they are vivid and real. The comments of a previous reviewer that the book actually justifies slavery and that it shows that Christianity defends slavery are due to sloppy reading of the book.No one reading the book could possibly come to the conclusion that it does anything but condemn slavery in the strongest and most indubitable terms. This was the point of the book. The aside about capitalism was just that,an aside on the evils of capitalism. It did not and does not negate the attack on slavery.Secondly, another major point of the book is that TRUE Christianity does not and could not ever support slavery.Stowe points out the Biblical references used to claim that Christianity defended slavery merely to show how the Bible can be misused by those who wish to defend their own indefensible viewpoint. It's ridiculous to say that the book"shows that Christianity supported slavery".It shows that some misguided preachers abused certain Bible passages and ignored other ones to support their view of slavery.下载文档。
