generalized estimating equation (gee)modelsIntroductionThe generalized estimating equation (GEE) model is a statistical technique used for the analysis of correlated data. GEE is commonly used in various fields, including epidemiology, medicine, and social sciences. This technique is mainly used for analyzing longitudinal data, which involves the repeated measurements of the same individuals over time. In this article, we will discuss the general concept of GEE models and their applications.Concept of GEE ModelsGEE models are an extension of the generalized linear models (GLM) and are used to analyze correlated data. The GLM assumes that the observations are independent of each other, which is not true for correlated data. In longitudinal studies, the observations are often correlated, which means that the observations from the same subject are more similar than observations from different subjects. The GEE model accounts for this correlation by including a correlation matrix in the model formulation. The GEE model estimates the population-averaged effect of the exposure on the outcome variable while accounting for the correlation between the observations. The model allowsfor the estimation of the mean, variance, and covariance of the outcome variable, which is not possible in the GLM. The estimation procedure is based on the quasi-likelihoodestimation method, which provides consistent estimates even when the working correlation matrix is misspecified.Applications of GEE ModelsGEE models are commonly used in various fields, including epidemiology, medicine, and social sciences. The model is used to analyze longitudinal data, which involves the repeated measurements of the same individuals over time. The model is useful for analyzing data from clinical trials, cohort studies, and surveys. In medicine, GEE models are used to analyze data from longitudinal studies involving the same patients over time. For example, the model can be used to analyze the effect of a particular drug on the progression of a disease over time. In epidemiology, the model can be used to analyze the effect of an exposure on the incidence of a disease over time. Insocial sciences, the model can be used to analyze the effect of a particular intervention on the outcomes of a group of individuals over time.ConclusionThe GEE model is a useful statistical technique for analyzing correlated data. The model is an extension of the GLM and is commonly used in various fields, including epidemiology, medicine, and social sciences. The model allows for the estimation of the population-averaged effect of the exposure on the outcome variable while accounting for the correlation between the observations. The model is useful for analyzing data from longitudinal studies involving the same individuals over time.。

外文资料翻译—原文部分An Empirical Study On Consumer Trust in B2C ecommercein China(FromShihang /stamp/stamp.jsp?tp=&arnumber=5998404&isnumber=5997898)Yujie Bao, Yan Li,* Xin Meng, Yuchang Liu, Weiming WangInternational College at BeijingChina Agricultural UniversityBeijing, Chinaicbliyan@Abstract—Consumer trust has been more and more recognized as an important factor for a successful e-commerce vendor. Based on the previous research, this paper developed an extended model for analyzing the main attributes of trust of the users in China. A survey regarding the trust of e-commerce users is conducted to empirically test the model. The result shows the perceived reputation and size; the level of multi-channel integration, the system assurance, consumers’ propensity to trust and experienced-based familiarity are all positively related with consumers’ trust in the vendor. The findings may provide the suggestions for the vendors to consider the trustworthy by the consumers. Keywords: e-commerce; consumer trust; ChinaI. INTRODUCTIONE-business (electronic commerce) is described as the process of buying, selling, transferring, or exchanging products, services, and/or information via computer networks, including the Internet. There are many advantages driving the growth of e-commerce in the recent decades. Time saving, a greater variety of choices and cheaper prices are the three main advantages. But like the traditional business, problems emerge as e-commerce becomes more popular. The consumers’ trust in e-commerce is becoming the most significant problem. One of the key factors that make an e-commerce successful is the ability to gain consumer trust.Trust is defined as in this study as a consumer’s positive expectations regarding an e-vendor’s conduct, characterized as faith, confidence and assurance. Trust create positive feelings towards transactions with web retailers, and thus is considered as one of the major mechanisms to reduce perceptions of behavioral uncertainty related to actions of web retailers [7].This research is focused on examining the influential factors of consumer trust by empirical experimentation to provide a basis for e-commerce vendors to improve their businesses.II. LITERATURE REVIEW, RESEARCH MODEL ANDHYPOTHESESTrust is an important factor in many social and economic activities. In the context of Internet business, trust is critical because of the nature and also the limitations of online business—theinvisibility of the transaction process, the physical separation between buyers and sellers, the physical separation between buyers [1]. These limitations cause greater uncertainty that all consumers try to avoid when making any purchase decisions. In prior research, Mayer [2] proposed a model incorporating both a trusting party (trustor) and a party to be trusted (trustee). They discussed the trustor’s perception about the trustees’ characteristics. Jarvenpaa [3] examined whether customers’ perceptions about the reputation and size of an Internet store affect their trust in the store and Bendoly examined the channel integration on consumer’s loyalty to a multi-channel firm. Some of the previous research identified and examined the trust in term of one single aspect of the trustees and trustors respectively. Our research develops a research model by involving the attributes all variables from both aspects of trustors and trustees. As shown in Figure 1, the consumer’s trust is mainly influenced by perceived reputation and size, multichannel integration, system assurance, consumer feedback mechanism, propensity to trust and experience.Figure 1. Research Model.A. Characteristics of trustees (e-commerce vendors)a) Perceived reputation and sizeResearch in traditional industrial buyer-seller rela tionships revealed that buyer’s perceptions of seller’s reputation and size are the factors of trustworthiness [4].Reputation is defined as the extent to which buyers believe a seller is professionally competent or honest and benevolent. Reputation is vulnerable because it is harder to form a reputation than to lose it [6]. For instance, due to the Sanlu milk powder event, customers showed great decrease in trust in domestic milk powder producers.Doney and Cannon [5] defined a seller’s size as its overa ll size and market share position. Size could indicate many things. Second large size means the business is recognized by a large population of customers, which gives the potential customers a signal that the business is reliable. So we hypothesize that:H1. The perceived reputation and size of e-commerce vendor is positively related to the level consumers’ trust in the vendor.b) Multi-channel integrationDaniel and Wilson [8] identified integration across channels to enable multi-channel service as one of the key dynamic capabilities necessary for e-business transformation. A fully integrated channel also enables the vendor to provide a customized service in the most satisfied way for the customers, which in return will increase customer’s confidence in t heir shopping experience, thus will increase their trust in the vendor. Therefore our hypothesis is:H2. The level of multi-channel integration of an ecommerce vendor is positively related to the level of consumers’ trust in the vendor.c) System assuranceSystem assurance is defined as the dependability and security of a vendor’s online transaction system, which enables transactions through the Internet, be secure and successful [1].A well-established security system lays a solid foundation for a successful e-commerce; it indicates that consumers’ money is guaranteed to be safe, which will consequently increase consumers’ trust in the vendor. Hence, it follows:H3. The system assurance of an e-commerce vendor is positively related to the level of consumers’ trust in the vendor.d) Consumer feedback mechanism. For first-time visitors, other consumers’ feedback and attitudes may work as a necessary reference in forming attitude judgment. [9] [10] [11]. A perfect feedback mechanism should be instantaneous, transparent and honest. A well-established feedback mechanism can give consumers a better view of the business, and increase their trust in the vendor. So we hypothesize that: H4. A consumer’s evaluation on the website’s feedback mechanism is positively rela ted to the level consumers’ trust in the vendor.B. Characteristics of trustors. (consumers)a) Propensity to trustA consumer’s disposition to trust is a general inclination to display faith in humanity and to adopt a trusting stance toward others [12]. Influenced by cultural background, personality type and previous experience, consumers differ in their inherent propensity to trust [2]. This tendency is based not upon experience or knowledge of a specific trusted party, but is instead the result of ongoing lifelong experiences and socialization [13] [14] [15]. Existing research has revealed that an individual’s propensity to trust has a major influence on his/or her trust [12]. Hence we hypothesize that:H5. Propensity to trust is positively related to th e level of consumers’ trust in the e-commerce vendor.b) Experience-based familiarityA consumer’s familiarity with the Online Selling Party (FAM) refers to the consumer’s degree of acquaintance with selling entity, which includes the knowledge of the vendor and understanding its relevant procedures such as searching for products and information and ordering through the Website’s purchasing interface [4]. The more familiar a consumer is with the vendor, the higher trust the consumer has in the vendor. Hence, our hypothesis is:H6: The level of consumers’ familiarity with the vendor is positively related to the level of consumers’ trust in the ecommerce vendor.III. RESEARCH METHODSA. MeasureThe measures used in this research are mainly adapted from relevant prior studies. 15 questionnaire items are developed and revised by some experts with significant experiences in ecommerce. Some of the items are also revised in accordance with the results of pilot test by 20 e-business consumers. Most of the items are measured using 5-point Likert scale ranged from 1 as strongly disagree to 5 as strongly agree.B. Data collectionThe target group of the online questionnaire is those consumers using e-business website , the leader of B2C e-commerce in China. We communicated with them by using online chatting software and sent questionnaires to them. The total of 500 questionnaires is distributed and 115 usable responses are generated, resulting in 23%.IV. RESULTS AND DATA ANALYSISA. Demographic profile of respondentsTable I summarizes the demographic profile and descriptive statistics of the respondents. The subjects consist 61 males (53.04%) and 54 females (46.96%). The gender percentage of the China respondents is very comparable to the result of CNNIC [16], which reported that 54.2% of the respondents were males in 2009. In addition, most of our respondents are age from 15 to 30. Moreover, most of our respondents are well educated. The educational level of 95.65% of the respondents is higher than junior col lege(including junior college). What’s more, 83.48% of the respondents spend more than 2 hours per day on Internet.TABLE I. DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE OF RESPONDENTSB. Reliability and ValidityAs mentioned, the pilot test and the experts’ revision were conducted to improve the validity. SPSS was used for statistical analysis. Reliability was examined using Cronbach’s alph a value. As shown in Table II, almost all the alphas for these factors are good enough, and the alpha which including all the influencing factors is 0.943, which is surprisingly high to show that the total performance of the internal consistency for reliability of the result is good.C. Means, Standard deviations and CorrelationsThe means, standard deviations and correlations between variable are presented in Table II. Among all the variables, most of the means except the propensity to trust are bigger than 4 and are very close to the mean of the intention to purchase, which was similar to the results of standard deviation. We also calculated the correlation between all the answers of each question and the answers of the question directly related to respon dents’ intention to purchase which were seen as the consumer trust. And the data of correlation was also shown in table 2. We can find that the correlation data for all the influencing factors are larger than 0.6, which means they have direct positive relation with consumer trust, which proved our hypotheses to be correct.TABLE II. RESULTS OF STATISTICSV. DISCUSSIONOverall our results can support our proposed hypotheses. As shown in our results, we can find that the correlation between consumer trust and all these six factors are bigger than 0.6, which means that all these factors are well positively related to the consumer trust. The first finding from the result of our research is that even though consumers’ propensities to trust has a very low means, but the correlation with consumer trust is still very high. The correlations (0.772 and 0.784) in our result show that the positive relationship between the propensity to trust and consumer’s trust towards e-vendors really exist. Even though more and more people are not willing to trust others, different people’ growing process still shaped their different standards to tru st and rely, which greatly impact their trust on the e-vendor.To make this finding into practices, the vendors can provide more descriptions of the products or services to provide more detailed information. From the results of research, we found that the result of the experience (familiarity) was very similar to the results of other researches that experience (familiarity) has a significantly positive relationship with consumers’ trust. Our confidence and trust are closely related to the lifelong socialization process with all the people around. In this way, this result would help the e-vendor a lot if the vendor can provide an impression to the consumers that the system or the trading way they use is familiar, and then consumers are likely to relate their experience to the e-vendor, which can greatly increase the consumer trust. What’s more, the e-vendor also can provide detailed flow of the whole trading process to increase consumers’ familiarities for the e-vendor.By study our research reports, we also found that all these 4 factors of trustees (Perceived reputation and size, Multichannel Integration, System Assurance, Consumer feedback mechanism) were well related to consumer trust.Consumer feedback mechanism can reduce consumers’perceived risk as the y can know other purchasers’ opinions toward the e-vendor. The result of the research of Jarvenpaa et al. [3] and Shemwell et al. [17] proved that consumers’perceived risk has the negative effect on consumers’ trust toward vendors. Most respondents supported the idea that if the website could provide more detailed feedbacks, and tried to improve the quality of the information, they would be more willing to purchase from the vendor. In this way, it would be helpful for e-vendors if they can perfect the feedback mechanism and guarantee the quality of the feedback information to show their honesty and good quality. The perceived reputation and size also showed good relationship with consumers’ trust. Good reputation gives consumers an impression of honesty, and big size can give consumers an impression of satisfying services, which are very important to build consumer trust. In this way, it is helpful for an e-vendor to publicize the successful operation and scale of the website to give the consumers an impress ion of good reputation and size. That’s why advertisement is a good way to gain consumers’ trust.Multichannel Integration also has shown its strong relationship with consumers’ trust by analyzing the results of our research. After the survey, we proved our hypotheses, and found the relationship indeed exists. In this way, the e-vendors should provide more detailed information for consumers to contact, and also provide more customized services.Similar to other researches, we also found that system assurance had close relationship with consumer trust. Trading with the cooperation of third party and applying more functions to help protect consumer’s securities can help improve consumer’s trust which was shown in our research results. In this way, it is necessary for e-vendors to apply secure trading system to win consumer trust. What's more, most of the respondents paid attention to the secure of their private information, so it is also helpful for e-vendors to apply more functions on the protection of consu mers’ private information. As many consumers were afraid of the losses resulting from their own mistakes during trading process, so we suggest that the website should provide more detailed directions for new users so that make them feel more confident to buy.VI. CONCLUSIONThe research is to find out what are the main practical factors that can affect consumer trust toward e-business and the research model is developed to test the main relationships between the influential factors and trust. After the data collection and data analysis, we found all the factors, perceived reputation and size, multichannel integration, system assurance, consumer feedback mechanism, propensity to trust and experience, all positively affected the trust. Comparing to previous research, our research have some new findings. First, the propensities to trust for some studies were low, but it still had close relationship with consumer trust. Second, our findings would be helpful for e-vendors to develop business strategies coping with the changing market in China. The research also has some limitations such as the volume of respondents is not quite large, the cross-sectional survey was done in 2 months. But the result of our research still can almost confirm our hypotheses to be correct. And we believe using correlation function is enough to prove our ideas. And we will continue to do the research to confirm the results and try to conduct some practical implications. The research also supported previous researchers’ achievements and se ttled foundation for further research.

principles of data sciencePrinciples of Data Science: Unlocking the Power of InformationIntroduction:Data science has emerged as a highly sought-after field in recent years, as organizations across various industries recognize the value and potential of leveraging data to drive innovation and make informed decisions. Whether it is analyzing consumer behavior, predicting market trends, or optimizing business processes, data science has become an integral part of the modern digital era. In this article, we will explore the principles of data science, step-by-step, to understand how it helps unlock the power of information.1. Defining Data Science:Data science can be defined as an interdisciplinary field that combines statistics, mathematics, programming skills, and domain expertise to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data. It encompasses various techniques, such as data mining, machine learning, and predictive analytics, to make senseof the vast amounts of data generated in today's digital age.2. Data Collection and Cleaning:The first step in data science is collecting relevant data from various sources. This may include customer databases, social media platforms, online surveys, or even IoT devices. However, the data collected is often messy and unorganized, containing errors, missing values, and inconsistencies. Data cleaning is crucial in this step to ensure data accuracy and reliability. Techniques like data wrangling, imputation, and outlier detection are employed to address these issues.3. Exploratory Data Analysis:Once the data is cleaned, it is essential to gain a deeper understanding of its characteristics and patterns. This is done through exploratory data analysis (EDA). EDA involves generating descriptive statistics, visualizations, and data summaries to uncover trends, relationships, and anomalies within the dataset. The goal is to develop insights that can guide further analysis and model development.4. Feature Engineering and Selection:Feature engineering involves transforming raw data into meaningful features that can be used by machine learning models. This step often requires domain knowledge and creativity. It may involve operations such as scaling, encoding categorical variables, creating interaction terms, or deriving new features from existing ones. Feature selection techniques help identify the most relevant features that contribute to the predictive power of the model while reducing dimensionality and improving model performance.5. Model Development:With the data prepared and features engineered, the next step is to develop a predictive model. This involves selecting an appropriate algorithm or combination of algorithms, such as linear regression, decision trees, or neural networks. The choice of the model depends on the type of problem, available data, and desired outcomes. Model development also includes splitting the data into training and testing sets, tuning hyperparameters, and assessing model performance through evaluation metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, or F1-score.6. Model Evaluation and Validation:Model evaluation is an iterative process, where different models are compared based on their performance and robustness. Validation techniques, such as k-fold cross-validation, help assess how well the model generalizes to unseen data. Overfitting, a condition where the model performs exceptionally well on the training set but poorly on new data, is also addressed during this step. Regularization methods and ensemble techniques are commonly employed to mitigate overfitting and improve model reliability.7. Deployment and Monitoring:Once a successful model is developed and evaluated, it is ready for deployment. The model is integrated into existing systems or applications to make predictions or generate insights in real-time. However, the journey is not over as data science is an iterative process. Model performance needs to be monitored continuously to ensure that it remains accurate and robust over time. Regular updates, retraining, and feedback loops are essential to adapt themodel to changing business needs or evolving data patterns.8. Ethical and Legal Considerations:Data science also raises ethical concerns and legal considerations. It is vital to ensure that data collected and used for analysis is done with the necessary consent, privacy, and security measures in place. Additionally, it is essential to avoid biases and maintain fairness in model development and decision-making processes. Transparency and accountability should be prioritized to create responsible and trustworthy data science solutions. Conclusion:The principles of data science provide a systematic approach to handle large volumes of data and derive actionable insights. By integrating various techniques, from data collection to model development and deployment, organizations can leverage the power of information to gain a competitive advantage, make informed decisions, and drive innovation. However, ethical considerations and continuous monitoring remain essential toensure responsible and trustworthy data science practices in the ever-evolving digital landscape.。

One of the key ways to achieve this is by implementing effective workflow management systems. A workflow refers to the series of tasks, activities, and steps that are necessary to complete a specific process or project. A workflow management system enables organizations to streamline their processes, automate tasks, and monitor progress, leading to improved productivity and better quality output. This article will provide a comprehensive reference model for designing and implementing a workflow management system.1. Workflow DefinitionThe first step in implementing a workflow management system is to define the workflows. This involves identifying the key processes and tasks within an organization and mapping out the sequence of activities required to complete these processes. It is important to involve all relevant stakeholders, including employees, managers, and subject matter experts, in this process to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the workflows.2. Workflow AnalysisAfter defining the workflows, the next step is to analyze them. This involves identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas where automation can be implemented. A thorough analysis of the workflows allows organizations to identify areas for improvement and design more efficient processes. Workflow analysis can be done through process mapping, data analysis, and collaboration with the employees involved in the workflows.3. Workflow DesignOnce the workflows have been defined and analyzed, the next step is to design the workflows. This involves determining the sequence of tasks, setting up standards and guidelines, and designing the workflow structure. Workflow design also includes creating decision points, defining inputs and outputs, and identifying the roles and responsibilities of individuals involved in the workflows. It is important to consider the organization's goals, resources, and constraints during the workflow design phase.4. Workflow AutomationAutomation is a key aspect of workflow management systems as it eliminates manual, repetitive tasks and allows employees to focus on more value-added activities. Workflow automation involves implementing software tools and technologies that automate tasks, facilitate communication and collaboration, and monitor progress. Automation can be achieved through the use of workflow management software, integration with other systems, and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.5. Workflow ImplementationAfter designing the workflows and automating tasks, the next step is to implement the workflows. This involves training employees on the new processes, communicating the changes, and integrating the workflows into the organization's existing systems and processes. Workflow implementation also involves monitoring and evaluating the workflows to ensure they are delivering the desired outcomes. Feedback from employees and stakeholders should be collected and used to make any necessary adjustments or improvements to the workflows.6. Workflow Monitoring and ControlOnce the workflows have been implemented, it is important to monitor and control them to ensure they are functioning effectively. Workflow monitoring involves tracking the progress of tasks, identifying bottlenecks, and monitoring key performance indicators to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the workflows. Workflow control involves taking corrective actions when necessary, such as reassigning tasks, reallocating resources, or making process improvements based on the monitoring data.7. Continuous ImprovementWorkflow management is an iterative process that requires continuous improvement. Organizations should regularly review and evaluate their workflows, gather feedback from employees and stakeholders, and identify areas for further optimization. Continuous improvement involves making ongoing adjustments and enhancements to the workflows to ensure they remain alignedwith the organization's goals and objectives.ConclusionImplementing an effective workflow management system is essential for organizations to optimize their operations, improve efficiency, and achieve better outcomes. This reference model provides a comprehensive framework for designing and implementing a workflow management system. By following this model, organizations can streamline their processes, automate tasks, and monitor progress to achieve higher productivity, better quality output, and a competitive edge in the market.8. Workflow IntegrationAnother important aspect of workflow management is integrating workflows with other systems and processes within the organization. This ensures smooth flow of information and tasks, eliminating silos and improving efficiency. Workflow integration involves connecting the workflow management system with other software applications, such as customer relationship management (CRM) systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and project management tools. Integration allows data and tasks to be seamlessly transferred between systems, reducing manual effort and data duplication.Integration also enables real-time data sharing, providing stakeholders with a comprehensive view of the workflows and facilitating better decision-making. For example, integrating the workflow management system with a CRM system allows sales teams to access customer data and update it in real-time, improvingcustomer service and sales effectiveness. Similarly, integrating the workflow management system with a project management tool enables project managers to track project progress and allocate resources efficiently.9. Workflow CollaborationCollaboration is a crucial aspect of workflow management as it promotes communication, knowledge sharing, and teamwork. A workflow management system should include features that facilitate collaboration among team members working on a workflow. This includes features such as task assignment, notification system, and document sharing.Task assignment allows workflow managers to assign tasks to specific individuals or teams, ensuring clear accountability and ownership of tasks. A notification system notifies team members about new tasks, task updates, or deadlines, ensuring everyone is aware of their responsibilities and can take appropriate action. Document sharing enables team members to collaborate on documents, share feedback, and make updates in real-time, improving productivity and reducing version control issues.10. Workflow OptimizationContinuous optimization is a key aspect of workflow management. Once the workflows have been implemented, organizations should regularly review and evaluate their effectiveness. This involves analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and gathering feedback from employees and stakeholders.KPIs can include metrics such as cycle time, throughput, and error rates, which provide insights into the efficiency and effectiveness of the workflows. Gathering feedback from employees and stakeholders allows organizations to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments to the workflows.Workflow optimization may involve making process improvements, reallocating resources, or reassigning tasks to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks. It may also involve exploring new technologies or tools that can further optimize the workflows, such as artificial intelligence or machine learning algorithms that can automate decision-making or predict behavior patterns in the workflows.11. Workflow ScalabilityAs businesses grow and evolve, their workflows may need to be scaled up or down to accommodate changing demands. Therefore, a workflow management system should be designed to be scalable, allowing organizations to easily adjust their workflows as needed. Scalability can be achieved through flexible workflow design, modular architecture, and the ability to easily add or remove tasks and processes. It also involves having a robust infrastructure that can handle increased workflow volume without sacrificing performance or causing system downtime.Additionally, a scalable workflow management system should be able to integrate with other systems and technologies seamlessly, allowing for future expansion or integration with new systems. 12. Workflow Security and ComplianceAnother important aspect of workflow management is ensuring the security and compliance of the workflows. Organizations need to protect sensitive data and ensure that workflows adhere to applicable regulations and industry standards.Workflow management systems should have built-in security features, such as access control, authentication, and encryption, to protect data from unauthorized access or breaches. They should also support auditing and logging capabilities to track and monitor workflow activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Moreover, organizations should regularly assess their workflows for risks and vulnerabilities and implement appropriate controls to mitigate them. This may involve conducting risk assessments, implementing cybersecurity measures, and training employees on data protection and compliance standards.ConclusionA well-designed and implemented workflow management system can significantly improve productivity, efficiency, and quality of output for organizations. This reference model provides a comprehensive framework for organizations to follow when designing, implementing, and managing their workflows.By defining and analyzing workflows, designing efficient processes, automating tasks, and integrating systems, organizations can streamline their operations and achieve better outcomes. Collaboration, optimization, scalability, and security are all essential considerations to ensure the ongoing success of the workflows.Continuous improvement is crucial in maintaining the effectiveness of workflows, as organizations need to adapt to changing business demands and leverage emerging technologies. By following this model and continuously optimizing their workflows, organizations can stay competitive and achieve their goals in today's fast-paced business environment.。

Even though there is plenty of domestic and international research into host scanning, formed products are few, among which the international representative of the products is Shodan [1] [2] [3] [4], while the domestic one is Zoomeye. Below is their detailed introductioShodan
Shodan is applied to search all online hosts on the Internet, as a search engine assisting in detecting vulnerability of Internet system. In security field, Shodan is called “dark” Google. Shodan’s server ceaselessly collects information of online devices[1], such as servers, cameras, printers, routers, switches and etc.. Even though Google has been viewed as the most powerful search engine, Shodan actually is the most frightening[2]. The differences between Google and Shodan: Google uses Web crawlers[5] to collect data online and indexes downloaded pages, so that users can search efficiently; Shodan searches for hosts and ports and acquires the intercepted information, then indexing them. Shodan’s truly startling power is that it can find almost all the devices connected to the Internet. Yet it is supposed to reflect on the security since most devices connected to the Internet are not installed with preventive systems and even have security vulnerability.

双向固定效应模型英语

双向固定效应模型英语

双向固定效应模型英语English:The two-way fixed effects model, also known as the fixed effects with interaction model, is a regression model commonly used in econometrics and social sciences to analyze panel data. In this model, both individual and time fixed effects are included to control for unobserved heterogeneity at the individual level and time-invariant factors affecting all individuals. Unlike the random effects model, the two-way fixed effects model allows for the inclusion of variables that do not vary over time, such as gender or race, as fixed effects. Additionally, it allows for the examination of the interaction effects between individual and time fixed effects, which can capture the differential impact of time-varying factors across different individuals. Estimation of the two-way fixed effects model is typically conducted using panel data techniques such as the within-groups estimator or the least squares dummy variable estimator. Overall, the two-way fixed effects model provides a flexible framework for analyzing panel data while effectively controlling for both individual-specific and time-specific effects.中文翻译:双向固定效应模型,也称为固定效应与交互作用模型,是经济计量学和社会科学中常用的回归模型,用于分析面板数据。

A New Adsorption Model for Analyzing Gas-Solid Equilibria in Porous Materials

A New Adsorption Model for Analyzing Gas-Solid Equilibria in Porous Materials

A New Adsorption Model for Analyzing Gas-Solid Equilibria in Porous MaterialsRussell S.Drago,*Douglas S.Burns,†and Todd frenzDepartment of Chemistry,Uni V ersity of Florida,Gaines V ille,Florida32611-7200Recei V ed:April24,1995;In Final Form:October24,1995XEquilibria involving three probe gases adsorbed on two porous carbonaceous supports are measured at varioustemperatures.A novel analysis of the data is offered which uses multiple process equilibria to calculateadsorption equilibrium constants for the interaction of the gas with the solid.Equilibria involving threedistinct processes are found. The equilibrium constants(K1,ads,K2,ads,and K3,ads)are obtained as well as thecapacity of the solid for each type of process(n1,n2,and n3),in millimoles of adsorptive per gram of solid. The first process,K1,ads,involves adsorption of the gas in the solid’s micropores which are of moleculardimensions. The second process,K2,ads,involves adsorption in the larger micropores. The third process,K3,ads,involves adsorption by the remaining surface.Multilayer formation is likely involved in some processes. The temperature dependencies of the K ads’s produce the enthalpy of adsorption for these processes.Thisanalysis is important for,in contrast to BET analyses,it provides thermodynamic data for different adsorptivesthat can be interpreted in terms of those molecular properties that facilitate probe-solid interactions and canprovide a quantitative definition of solid reactivity.IntroductionPorous supports have been used in this laboratory to prepare a variety of catalysts.1This work has shown that in addition to surface area, the porosity and pore size distribution of the solid are important properties. The pores of the solid tend to concentrate reactants in the vicinity of the supported catalyst, and this increase in reactant concentration can increase the reactivity.Preferential adsorption of one of the reactants over another or preferential adsorption of the products over the reactants can inhibit the reaction by preventing access of the needed reactants to the catalytic site. For catalytic2and other applications of porous solids,an understanding of gas-solid equilibria and a quantitative measure of the solid’s adsorption strength are essential for the rational selection of solid materials. Gas-solid equilibria involve three types of interactions: absorption, chemisorption, and physisorption. We are concerned with the latter and will include in our use of the term physisorption the process referred to as reversible chemisorption. In the absence of specific interactions, the force of attraction for physisorption of nonpolar gases(e.g.,N2,Ar,and CH4) involves mainly London dispersion interactions.3-6The disper-sion energy is a function of r-6,where r is the surface-molecule distance,3and is also dependent on the polarizability of the gas molecule and the support.5Polar gas molecules have contribu-tions from these forces but are dominated by electrostatic interactions which are less sensitive to the distance from the surface3and are a function of r-3.The electrostatic force is particularly important on electrically conducting supports such as graphite when the adsorptive molecule has an inherent dipole moment.7Dispersion and electrostatic forces between adsorp-tive molecules also govern the interactions in multilayer adsorption.6In addition to the above interactions of gaseous molecules with flat surfaces, the porosity of the solid has a pronounced influence on gas-solid adsorption equilibria. There are three processes which may be present in a physisorption isotherm: micropore filling,monolayer-multilayer adsorption,or capillary condensation.8Pores in supports have been divided into three groups by IUPAC.Micropores are those pores that are less than20Åin diameter.Mesopores are those that are between 20and500Åin size.Macropores are defined as pores with diameters larger than500Å.Micropores adsorb molecules with significantly larger adsorption energies than do mesopores or macropores, due to superimposed interaction potentials from opposite surfaces within the pore9,10as shown in Figure1. Everett and Powl11calculated interaction energies as a function of pore size based on the Lennard-Jones potential model. In cylindrical pores of five adsorptive diameters or less, the model predicts increasing adsorption energies with decreasing pore size. Adsorption of molecules occurs preferentially in the micropores because of these higher adsorption energies.Furthermore,if the temperature is less than the critical temperature of the adsorptive, capillary condensation is possible in pores that are larger than four adsorptive diameters.Adsorption measurements usually are interpreted with the BET equation:12where X)P/P o and P is the equilibrium pressure in Torr and P o is the saturation pressure in Torr. The values of n m and C are obtained from the linear best fit plot of X/[n(1-X)]vs X where n is the number of moles adsorbed. The equation is typically applied over the relative pressure range,P/P o,of0.05-0.3.At lower pressures, the high adsorption potential from micropore filling causes this equation to predict too little adsorption. At higher pressures, multilayer adsorption is usually prevalent. The BET model predicts too much adsorption at these pressures. The BET constant C is a complex quantity related to the ratio of equilibrium constants for monolayer adsorption and multilayer adsorption, along with contributions from the enthalpy of adsorption of the monolayer and multilayer. Literature attempts to interpret C have led to different propos-als.12This equation has become the standard for surface area determinations, usually with nitrogen at77K as the adsorptive.8 The purpose of this article is to offer a complimentary method for the analysis of adsorption data. The goal of this analysis is†Present address:ENSCO,Inc.,445Pineda Ct,Melbourne,FL32940. Characterization of Supports.Carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen analyses(CHN)were performed by the University of Florida elemental analysis laboratory.Surface area and pore volume data were obtained from the N2isotherm at77K using a Micromeritics ASAP2000Instrument.Surface areas were determined using a five-point Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET) calculation.17Micropore volume was determined using the Harkins-Jura t-plot model with thickness parameters from5.5-9.0Å.18The Barrett-Joyner-Halenda(BJH)adsorption curve was used for calculating meso-and macropore volumes.19All calculations were carried out as described in the Micromeritics ASAP2000Instrument manual.20,21Adsorption Measurements. The uptake of gases by the two solids was measured using the Micromeritics ASAP2000Chemi system. In a standard experiment,a sample was placed into a glass container sealed to the apparatus via Viton O-rings and degassed overnight at200°C under vacuum.Following a minimum of8h of desorption, adsorption measurements were taken. The free space was determined using helium. The assumption is made that helium is a nonadsorbing gas for our supports and, therefore, determines the volume above the sample as well as the dead volume within the sample.Free space, adsorbed gas volumes, and equilibration intervals were calcu-lated as outlined in the Micromeritics ASAP2000Chemi reference manual.21The system was considered to be at equilibrium when the pressure change per unit time interval(10 s)was less than0.01%of the average pressure during the interval. All adsorptions were reported at values between0.1 and760Torr because we are interested in the applications of these materials at median-to-ambient relative pressures.Ad-sorption isotherms were obtained at temperatures ranging from 75to-93°C by immersing the sample tube into a Dewar filled with various liquid N2/solvent mixes or ice water or by covering the sample tube with a heating mantle. The measured fluctua-tion in temperature was never greater than(1°C.Two experiments were performed in which PPAN was desorbed at110and200°C,respectively,prior to measurement of the adsorption isotherm.Interestingly, the number of moles of N2adsorbed at P/P o equals1by the110°C degassed sample (0.31mmol/g of PPAN)was less than that adsorbed by the200°C sample(0.36mmol/g of PPAN).Higher desorption tem-peratures or lower degassing pressures are required to empty the smaller micropores. However, use of too high a temperature can lead to changes in the nature of the adsorbent.Furthermore, any higher affinity small micropores not emptied at200°C are irrelevant for kinetic reasons in most catalytic and separation applications. For these reasons,we have selected a200°C pretreatment for the comparison of adsorptives and solids studied here. Results and DiscussionEquilibrium Analysis. The measured isotherms were ana-lyzed using an equilibrium model derived by analogy to a multiple-site Langmuir-type adsorption model.12The resulting constant for process i,and P atm is the equilibrium gas pressure in atmospheres. The n i and K i,ads values were determined using a modified simplex routine designed to solve eq2for a series of equilibrium gas pressures. In using eq2,the minimum number of processes,i,needed to obtain a good fit of the adsorption isotherm are used.As discussed in our earlier report22of the cal-ad method,a very shallow minimum results in the solution of the series of simultaneous equations that arise from even a two-process fit of adsorption data for K1,ads,K2,ads, n1,and n2.Uncertain values of the quantities result. In the cal-ad procedure, the definition of the minimum was improvedby simultaneously measuring and solving enthalpy and adsorp-tion data. However, the enthalpies of interaction of most carbon adsorbents are so small that this approach cannot be employed with these solids.Instead,a series of isotherms can be measured at various temperatures.Assuming the n i values to be temper-ature independent, each temperature introduces only new K ads’s as unknowns, leading to a better definition of the minimum in the solution of the combined data set because of the improved ratio of knowns to unknowns. It is to be emphasized that we are not assuming the same extent of micropore filling at all temperatures for P/P o of one.The assumption is that the potential capacity is the same with K defining the conditions to saturate this capacity. The reproducibility and precision in the adsorption measure-ments were determined from three successive experiments in which N2adsorption by A-572at25°C was followed by evacuating and repeating the N2adsorption experiment on the same sample. The adsorption isotherms were very reproducible. At higher equilibrium pressures(P atm>0.05),the relative error (δ)in the average number of moles of N2adsorbed per gram A-572wasδ<0.5%.At lower equilibrium pressures(P atm< 0.05),the relative error was somewhat larger,withδ<3%. This larger relative error arises because of the very small volumes of gas adsorbed. Two successive adsorption isotherms were also obtained for CO on A-572at T)-93°C.At this low temperature,CO leads to much higher volumes of gas adsorbed at the low pressures. As in the N2data,the greatest relative errors in successive runs were observed at lower pressures. For the two CO adsorption isotherms at P atm<0.05, a relative error of<4%was found. In the data analysis,it is essential to add processes only until the adsorption data are fit as accurately as it is known. We have used the relative errors discussed above as the criterion for the minimum number of processes needed to fit the adsorption data by the equilibrium analyses to within the precision of measurement. The procedure for obtaining n i’s and K i,ads’s for the gases in this study is outlined as follows:(1)The T)-42°C isotherm is found to fit with two processes, leading to values for all four parameters(n1,n2,K1,ads, K2,ads).At this temperature, the value of n1is best defined because23the data points correspond to ranges from zero to near full capacity for process1.Furthermore,K1,ads is different enough from the equilibrium constants of the other processes to distinguish the K i,ads values.(2)The T)-93°C isotherm requires three processes to fit the data to within the experimental error. The n1value is fixed to that obtained in step1.These data provide a better definition of n2,so it is not fixed to the value from step1.The data fit of this isotherm provides K1,ads,K2,ads,K3,ads,n2,and n3.Since processes1and2have data ranging from low to full capacity, the values of K1,ads,K2,ads,and n2are well defined, but K3,ads and n3are not as accurately known.(3)Next,the above isotherms are reanalyzed and all other isotherms are analyzed with a three-process fit using fixed values of n1,n2,and n3from steps1and2.This step produces the reported values of K1,ads,K2,ads,and K3,ads calculated for each adsorption isotherm at each temperature.Step3constitutes a check to determine if meaningful parameters have been obtained. If good values result for n1, n2,and n3from steps1and2,it will be possible to fit the isotherms obtained at all temperatures to within the precision of the experimental measurements with these n i’s fixed.A second check results by plotting ln K i,ads vs1/T[K-1]. Meaningful parameters will give a straight line with the slope related to the enthalpy of adsorption. It is important to realize that the K ads values calculated in these experiments correspond to an equilibrium that is estab-lished in minutes. On standing for hours, the adsorption capacity of the solid is found to increase. The equilibrium process that is rapidly established is of most interest for catalytic and separation applications. In these experiments, equilibrium is defined as the point at which the measured pressure changes by less than0.01%of the average pressure during a10-s time interval. In general, for these porous carbons,3-5min transpires between data points, although longer times are required at low pressures.Supports and Adsorptives. Two chemically different porous carbonaceous supports and a series of different gases were studied to quantify the processes involved in gaseous adsorptive pickup. This research has focused on the carbonaceous adsor-bents Ambersorb572(A-572)made from pyrolyzed, sulfonated, macroreticular polystyrene beads and a pyrolyzed poly(acry-lonitrile)(PPAN)material.24Data for the physical characteriza-tion of these materials with elemental and BET analyses are listed in Table1.Both solids have BET surface areas around 1000m2/g and a distribution of pores including micropores, mesopores, and macropores. The C constants are1685and866 for PPAN and A572,respectively.Microporosity makes the calculated surface area suspect. The selection of these adsor-bents enables us to compare properties of a predominantly carbon-containing solid material and one with nitrogen donor functionality. The gases used in the adsorption measurements are sum-marized in Table2and were selected to provide a range of polarity, polarizability, and size.Helium is taken as a reference zero point to determine the dead volume of the support. The nonpolar N2,slightly polar CO,and the quadrupolar CO2were chosen to investigate the influence of polarity on the application of this adsorption model and to provide an indication of the importance of these properties on adsorption by these solids. N2and CO are noncondensible gases in our studies because their critical temperatures are significantly less than the tem-peratures used in this work. These probes are subject to solid-probe and multilayer interactions but do not give rise to capillary condensation in the mesopores and large micropores.Conden-sible adsorptives are subject to both solid-probe and multilayer interactions,as well as capillary condensation.TABLE1:Physical Properties of the Adsorbents UsedA-572PPAN surface area av[m2/g](C)a1159(865)880(1685) pore vol[mL/g]micropore0.4280.334mesopore0.2840.119macropore0.2070.090CHN anal.%C91.170.2%H0.33 1.66%N0.00 5.31a BET value of C constant.1720J.Phys.Chem.,Vol.100,No.5,1996Drago et al.Adsorption Isotherms.Figures2-4show the adsorption isotherms for N2,CO,and CO2on A-572and N2as well as CO on PPAN.The N2and CO isotherms at25°C are linear at the external pressures studied, whereas at lower temperatures, the isotherms are nonlinear and the solids have greater adsorption. The isotherms in Figures2and3were fit to eq2with n1,n2, and n3determined and fixed for each adsorptive as described in the calculational procedure. In the case of CO2,the n i values that were obtained from the isotherm at0°C by optimizing the n’s and K’s fit the data at all temperatures. The isotherms for all three adsorptives on both solids at all temperatures could be fit to the accuracy of the measurements using three differentadsorption processes. The points shown in Figures2-4are the experimental data, and the curves are generated from the best fit analysis using eq2.The excellent fit of the data for the noncondensible gases to the three-process model, using the same n1,n2,and n3values for isotherms at all temperatures studied, suggests that the n1and n2values obtained are accurate measures of the available capacity for these different processes. It is important to note that in the case of CO on either solid, n i and K i,ads values were within10%of those reported when calculated solely from the T)-93°C adsorption isotherm. The results for CO2at0°C and CO at-93°C indicate that if one adsorbs enough adsorbate in the region of the isotherm in which processes1and2dominate and if enough measurements are taken at low pressures(approximately P<0.05atm),aTABLE2:Summary of Gases and Physical Properties aprobe gas MW,g/molpolarizability,bÅ3dipolemoment Dmolar vol,cmL/mol T c,°C T bp,°C∆H v,kcal/molvan derWaals const aHe 4.000.205032-268.0-268.90.01940.03412 N228.01 1.74035.4-146.9-195.8 1.33 1.390 CO28.01 1.950.11234.9-140.2-191.5 1.44 1.485 CO244.01 2.91040.0b31.04-78.44 6.03 3.592(-37°C)(sub)a Lange’s Handbook of Chemistry,13th ed.;McGraw-Hill:New York,1985.All data is from this source unless otherwise specified.b Handbook of Chemistry and Physics,71st ed.;CRC:Boca Raton,FL,1991.c Molar Volume of the liquid at the normal boiling point.Hildebrand,J.H.;Prausnitz,J.M.;Scott,R.L.Regular and Related Solutions;Van Nostrand Reinhold:New York,1970;p217.Figure2.(a)Adsorption of nitrogen by PPAN;(b)adsorption of N2 by A-572.T c of N2is-146.9°C.Figure3.(a)Adsorption of CO by PPAN;(b)adsorption of CO by A-572.T c of CO is-140.2°C.Figure4.Adsorption of CO2by A-572.T c of CO2is31.04°C.Analyzing Gas-Solid Equilibria in Porous Materials J.Phys.Chem.,Vol.100,No.5,19961721reasonable estimate of n1and K1,ads is possible from measure-ments at one temperature. If it is not possible to get enough adsorption measurements in the low-pressure portion of the isotherm because of extensive filling of these high-affinity sites, then higher temperatures may be required to obtain a better value of n1and K1,ads.Table3summarizes the n i and K ads parameters for all of the N2,CO,and CO2adsorption isotherms, where n i is the capacity of the solid for the adsorption process in millimoles of gas adsorbed per gram of solid, and the equilibrium constants,K ads, measure the affinity of the probe for that adsorption process. The K ads values are such that the second and third types of processes begin before the first process, adsorption in the small micropores, has been completed. This simultaneous filling is illustrated in Figure5where the experimental isotherm for CO on A-572at42°C is decomposed into the three-component processes using the determined K i,ads and n i values. It is important to emphasize that as in all heterogeneous equilibria, the K ads is an average value of the adsorption process by different solid sites that have K ads values close enough to be treated, within experimental error of the measurement,as a single process in the data workup. It is also important to emphasize that n i for each type of process is a function of the pore distribution in the solid and the size of the probe molecule. The log K i,ads value is a quantitative measure of the free energy of probe-solid and probe-probe interactions for each different process. The log K i,ads’s for a given adsorptive being adsorbed by different solids provide quantitative comparisons of the interactions of the adsorbate with the solid. For a given adsorbent, quantitative comparisons of the log K i,ads’s for different adsorptives will give insight into the polarizability, polarity, and donor-acceptor properties of the solid surface. The enthalpies of adsorption,∆H ads,for the three adsorptives on the two solids have been determined using a Clapeyron-type relationship between ln K i,ads and inverse temperature. The results are summarized in Table4,and plots are shown for CO2 on A-572in Figure6.The least-squares fit of the plots for all of the systems are given in the footnote to Table4.It should be noted that the third adsorption process is not defined as well as the first two since only a small fraction of these sites are occupied at the conditions studied.23Therefore,K3,ads and ∆H3,ads are to be considered as rough estimates. The enthalpiesTABLE3:Equilibrium Adsorption ParametersK i,adssolid gas process n i,mmol/g-93°C-42°C0°C25°C40°C75°C A-572N210.4693 4.60.940.552 1.599.90.780.130.041a3 5.320.860.130.050.041aCO10.531808.260.662 1.8216.7 1.10.06a3 4.94 1.40.170.054aCO210.1857.416.07.4 3.12 1.38 6.39 2.8 1.60.5238.690.500.230.140.06aPPAN N210.43110 4.70.302 1.639.40.740.15a3 3.620.810.110.015aCO10.562508.90.722 1.7919.3 1.10.05a3 3.65 1.350.150.05aa There is very little filling of these sites at the temperature indicated. Therefore, these values have a greater uncertainty than the otherprocesses.Figure5.Contributions of three processes to the total isotherm of CO on A-572at-42°C.TABLE4:Summary of-∆H ads(kcal/mol)from ln K ads versus1/T PlotsA-572PPAN process N2a CO b CO2c N2d CO e1 4.7(0.1 5.1(0.047.4(0.6 5.3(0.2 5.3(0.12 4.5(0.3 5.1(0.4 6.3(0.3 3.8(0.2 5.3(0.53 3.0(0.1 3.0(0.3 5.4(0.3 3.6(0.2 3.0(0.4a Process1:ln K)2370((70)/T-8.6((0.1).Process2:ln K)2270((160)/T-10.2((0.2);ln K2at25°C was omitted because it is poorly defined.Process3:ln K)1510((30)/T-8.5((0.04); ln K3at25°C was omitted because it is poorly defined.b Process1: ln K)2560((0.1)1/T-9.0((0.03).Process2:ln K)2550 ((220)1/T-11.2((0.3).Process3:ln K)1490((150)1/T-8.0((0.2).c Process1:ln K)3740((320)1/T-9.7((0.2).Process 2:ln K)3200((160)1/T-9.8((0.1).Process3:ln K)2710 ((0.6)1/T-10.6((0.03).d Process1:ln K)2670((80)1/T-10.1. Process2is attributed to adsorption in the larger micropores of the solid. For N2and CO on A-572,the enthalpies for processes1and2are the same within experimental error. This indicates that the superimposed interaction potentials from the adsorbate on opposite walls(Figure1)of the micropores has a small enthalpic and large entropic component. The predominant contribution to the enthalpy in process1is the solid-adsorptive dispersion interaction. With the larger molecule CO2,the enthalpic contribution to process1is1.1kcal mol-1larger than that for process2.The small pores involved in the solids studied apparently have dimensions that lead to a larger, enthalpic, and entropic superimposed interaction potential for the larger CO2 molecule. For smaller molecules, the enthalpic contribution is smaller. The predominant contribution to the enthalpy of process2 for CO,N2,and CO2arises from the dispersion force interaction of these molecules with the carbon surface. The values of both n1and n2are about12%larger for CO than for N2.The quantities n1and n2will consist of varying combinations of micropores for different gases.Stronger interaction enables CO to bind more strongly than N2to some of the larger micropores, thus increasing n1and n2.Using an adsorbate area of16.2Å2for a nitrogen molecule,26 the values of n1and n2for A-572correspond to surface areas of45and155m2/g,respectively.The value of n3corresponds to519m2/g.A similar analysis for CO using an adsorbate area26 of15.0Å2gives48,164,and446m2/g for processes1,2,and 3,respectively.In both of these cases,process3is attributed to adsorption by the surface of the larger pores and remaining surface. The n’s and K’s for process3are not well-defined, and the calculated surface areas are not as well-known.A polarized surface molecule could lead to multilayer adsorption even though we are above the critical temperature of the adsorbate.Whether the adsorbed molecules are all on the surface or on surface and bilayer sites is often of minor concern.Multilayer formation in the micropores is analogous to the accepted concept of micropore filling. Therefore,in all these processes,it is difficult to distinguish the contribution from multilayer adsorption and surface-bound interactions, for the two may proceed concurrently and with a comparable K ads. However, for most applications, the concern is with the capacity and affinity of the various processes. When similar calculations are done with the CO2data,using an adsorbate diameter26of21.8Å2,the corresponding surface areas are24m2/g for process1and181m2/g for process2.An area of1140m2/g is found for process3,which exceeds the reported BET total surface area.Thus,CO2must involve both adsorption by the solid surface and multilayer processes. In this case,it is clear that multilayer and surface adsorption have comparable equilibrium constants, for the data are fit to three processes. The quantitative thermodynamic data for process3are poorly defined at the temperature and pressure regions studied due to only a fraction of n3’s capacity actually being occupied. These calculations show that condensation does not occur for N2or CO but does for CO2.This correlates with the critical temperatures of these gases. Both n1and n2are smaller for CO2than for either N2or CO,as expected from its larger size.However,n3is much larger and provides the only clear manifestation of a multilayer process in the systems in Table3.It is of interest to note that the enthalpies of process3are larger than the enthalpies of vaporization of the liquids. The polarization of a surface-bound molecule will increase the enthalpy of interaction of a second layer with the surface layer. In general, multilayer formation in each of the processes is expected to have comparable K i,ads’s to those for surface adsorption of those processes. The interaction potentials that give rise to the different processes influence not only the surface interactions but also the multilayer interactions. Comparison of Adsorbents. The solid adsorbent PPAN is very similar to A-572.At-93°C,the n1and n2values for N2 and CO are similar for these two solids.The-93°C equilibrium constants and enthalpies for process1are slightly larger for PPAN than for A-572.The K2,ads and K3,ads values are similar for the two solids,as is the enthalpy for process3. Thus, the nitrogen donor functionality of PPAN does little to change the interaction potential between the solid surface and the monolayer of N2or CO.Interestingly, the n3values obtained are larger for A-572than for PPAN.This is consistent with porosimetry and BET experiments which indicate a larger pore volume and surface area for A-572.It is also of interest to note that both adsorbents were cycled through adsorption experiments and degassing at200°C up to 15times.We found no change in the surface area and pore size distribution between the original and final sample. This thermal stability is important for separation and catalytic applications.Comparison of Adsorption Models. The BET model, which is the most often used standard adsorption model for porous materials, was developed to account for multilayer adsorption by assuming that the Langmuir equation, which involves only monolayer adsorption, applies to each layer.Following Ad-amson,12the C constant in the BET equation(eq1)is related to the ratio of equilibrium constants for monolayer adsorption and multilayer adsorption. It is also related exponentially to the difference in the enthalpy of adsorption of the monolayer (Q1)and the multilayer(Q v).Therefore,C encompasses several processes and thus is difficult to relate to the affinity or strength of interaction of the probe with the solid.Analyzing Gas-Solid Equilibria in Porous Materials J.Phys.Chem.,Vol.100,No.5,19961723。

Data Reporting Strategies

Data Reporting Strategies

Data Reporting StrategiesData reporting is a crucial aspect of any organization's operations. It involves the collection, analysis, and presentation of data in a way that is meaningful and actionable for decision-makers. However, there are various challenges and considerations that need to be taken into account when developing data reporting strategies. In this response, we will explore the importance of data reporting, the challenges faced in developing effective strategies, and potential solutions to address these challenges.First and foremost, it is important to understand the significance of data reporting in today's business landscape. Data is often referred to as the new oil, and for good reason. It holds immense value for organizations, providing insights into customer behavior, market trends, and operational efficiency. However, raw data in itself is meaningless without proper reporting and analysis. Data reporting helps in transforming raw data into actionable insights, enabling organizations to make informed decisions and drive business growth. It also facilitates transparency and accountability within an organization, as it provides a clear picture of performance and progress towards goals.Despite its importance, developing effective data reporting strategies is not without its challenges. One of the primary challenges is ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the data being reported. Inaccurate or incomplete data can lead to flawed insights and misguided decisions. This is especially true in today's data-driven world, where organizations are dealing with massive volumes of data from various sources. Ensuring data quality and integrity is therefore a critical consideration in data reporting strategies.Another challenge is the need for data reporting to be timely and relevant. In a fast-paced business environment, decision-makers require real-time or near real-time insights to respond to market changes and customer needs. Traditional reporting methods that rely on manual data collection and analysis may not be able to keep up with this demand for speed and agility. As such, organizations need to explore more advanced reporting tools and technologies to enable faster and more dynamic reporting.Furthermore, data reporting strategies need to be tailored to the specific needs and preferences of the end-users. Different stakeholders within an organization may have varying requirements when it comes to data reporting. For example, executives may require high-level, strategic insights, while operational teams may need more granular, detailed reports. Balancing these diverse needs and ensuring that the reporting is intuitive and easy to understand for all users can be a complex task.In addition to these challenges, there are also considerations around data security and privacy that need to be addressed in data reporting strategies. With the increasing focus on data protection and regulations such as GDPR, organizations need to ensure that their reporting processes are compliant with relevant laws and standards. This involves implementing robust data governance practices and security measures to safeguard sensitive information. To address these challenges and develop effective data reporting strategies, organizations can consider several potential solutions. One approach is to invest in advanced data management and analytics tools that can automate the process of data collection, cleansing, and reporting. These tools can help improve the accuracy and reliability of the data being reported, while also enabling faster and more dynamic reporting capabilities.Another solution is to prioritize user experience in data reporting. This involves designing reports that are visually appealing, easy to navigate, and tailored to the specific needs of different user groups. Interactive dashboards and self-service reporting tools can empower users to explore data on their own, leading to greater engagement and understanding of the insights being presented.Furthermore, organizations can benefit from adopting a culture of data literacy, where employees at all levels are equipped with the skills and knowledge to interpret and use data effectively. This can be achieved through training programs and initiatives that promote a data-driven mindset across the organization. In conclusion, data reporting is a critical function that enables organizations to derive value from their data assets. However, developing effective data reporting strategies comes with its own set of challenges, including ensuring data accuracy, timeliness, relevance, and security. By leveraging advanced technologies, prioritizing user experience, and fostering a culture of data literacy, organizations can overcome these challenges and develop reporting strategies that drive informed decision-making and business success.。

Easily expand on-demand, adding more gateways and storage as you see fit.Zero MaintenanceCheck Point maintains the infrastructure and software. Until now, you had to plot your windows of maintenance, run testing, and then roll out an upgrade campaign to all selected candidates to get them up to date. Today, with Smart-1 Cloud, this is automatically updated for you. In addition we do daily backups and monitor systems and disk space for any issues.Smart-1 Cloud Shared Responsibility ModelDataCustomerUpdatesApplicationOperating SystemServers and StoragePhysical NetworksSmart-1 Cloud On-boarding, the Fastest On-ramp to Check Point Security Management Smart-1 Cloud is an ideal platform for anyone interested in quickly provisioning a Check Point security management server. When compared with an on-premises or CloudGuard IaaS deployment the ramp-up process is simpler and the ramp-up time is much quicker. Smart-1 Cloud deployments do not require expertise in specifying a hardware platform meeting the recommend system requirements. Likewise users do not need to have the cloud expertise to provision one of Check Point’s public or private cloud CloudGuard IaaS offerings. Additionally, with the web-based SmartConsole in Smart-1 Cloud, there’s no need for an additional Windows host to run the SmartConsole GUI client.Simply register at the Check Point Infinity Portal, the portal to all of Check Point’s SaaS offerings, and you have 30 days to trial Smart-1 Cloud. The free trial includes the full Smart-1 Cloud feature set. When ready, purchase a 30 day or yearly Starter Pack.Startups and Small EnterprisesIn companies where employees wear many hats, Smart-1 Cloud is an option. IT staff at these companies may not have the time to acquire and provision new hardware or software. Smart-1 Cloud with its fast ramp-up time, no maintenance, always up to date security and scalability may be the ideal solution. If the company is geographically distributed, and doesn’t’ require sharing objects and rules, admins at the different locations can have their own tenant or domain. Customers can have multiple environments on the same Infinity Portal account and registered under the same email address. Switching between the different environments in the portal is easy. Simply select the environment name from the drop down list at the top of the Infinity Portal window. The login from the portal to the web SmartConsole uses the portal's credentials, allowing Single Sign-on (SSO) to the web SmartConsole.Migrating from a Standalone to a Distributed DeploymentIf you started your Check Point journey with one NGFW with security management and are now adding additional gateways to better segment your network or protect additional remote offices or virtual gateways, then Smart-1 Cloud is an option. In the distributed deployment model security management runs on its own separate system. This frees the standalone gateway to handle more traffic and additional security features. Additionally central management of more than one gateway is a linear OPEX savings for each additional gateway added. And you minimize errors introduced when repeating tasks on multiple management servers.Refreshing an Existing Security Management Server or Adding HA ManagementMaybe you have an existing management server and it’s time to consider adding more capacity or you want to add an additional HA (Highly Available) management server to reduce your risk. 大数据分析师如何应对机器学习模型监控Big Data Analysis and How Data Analysts Can Address Machine Learning Model MonitoringIntroductionWith the emergence and rapid growth of big data, companies and organizations have started leveraging the power of machine learning models for data analysis. Machine learning models play a crucial role in generating valuable insights and predictions from large and complex datasets. However, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of these models is a major challenge faced by data analysts. In this article, we will discuss how data analysts can effectively monitor machine learning models to ensure their optimal performance.Understanding Machine Learning Model MonitoringMachine learning model monitoring involves the continuous evaluation of model performance, detecting potential issues, and making necessary adjustments or improvements. It is a critical process to ensure that machine learning models deliver accurate and reliable predictions. Without proper monitoring, models might become ineffective, leading to poor decision-making and biased results.Key Challenges in Model Monitoring1. Model Drift: Models may lose accuracy over time due to changes in the underlying data distribution. This is known as model drift and can lead toincorrect predictions. Monitoring model drift is crucial to identify when retraining or adjustment is necessary.2. Concept Drift: Concept drift occurs when the relationship between input variables and the target variable changes. It can significantly impact model performance. Data analysts must monitor for concept drift to ensure the model remains effective and relevant.3. Scalability: Monitoring models that process large and complex datasets can be challenging. Data analysts need to establish scalable monitoring techniques to handle the volume and velocity of data generated.Effective Strategies for Model Monitoring1. Establishing Baseline Metrics: Data analysts should establish baseline metrics to measure the initial performance of the machine learning model. These metrics can include accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, depending on the specific use case. By comparing real-time metrics with the baseline, analysts can identify any significant deviations and take appropriate actions.2. Real-Time Data Monitoring: Data analysts should continuously monitor the incoming data used by the model. By tracking data quality, completeness, and consistency, analysts can detect data anomalies or changes that may affect model performance. Regularly updating and validating data sources are essential for accurate analysis.3. Model Monitoring Dashboard: Creating a visually appealing and user-friendly model monitoring dashboard can help data analysts easily visualize important metrics and detect any anomalies or discrepancies. The dashboardshould provide real-time updates, trend analysis, and alerts for abnormal behavior or performance degradation.4. Automated Alerting System: Establishing an automated alerting system is crucial for timely detection of model performance issues. Data analysts can set up alert triggers based on predefined thresholds, such as sudden drops in accuracy or spike in prediction errors. Alerts ensure that any potential issues are immediately addressed, reducing the risk of prolonged data inaccuracies.5. Regular Retraining and Updating: Machine learning models require periodic retraining and updating. Data analysts must schedule regular retraining to ensure the model remains effective in evolving data environments. This involves collecting new labeled data, retraining the model, and conducting thorough testing before deploying the updated model.ConclusionAs big data analysis becomes increasingly prevalent, data analysts must adapt and employ effective strategies for monitoring machine learning models. By embracing proactive monitoring techniques, such as establishing baseline metrics, real-time data monitoring, and automated alerting systems, analysts can ensure the accuracy and reliability of machine learning models. With continuous monitoring, data analysts can detect and address potential issues promptly, leading to better decision-making and more reliable predictions.。
