USACO2018D ECEMBER C ONTEST,B RONZEP ROBLEM1.M IXING M ILK

O VERVIEW T RAINING C ONTESTS H ISTORY S TAFF R ESOURCESUSACO 2018 J ANUARY C ONTEST, S ILVERP ROBLEM 3. MooTubeIn his spare time, Farmer John has created a new video-sharing service, which he namesMooTube. On MooTube, Farmer John's cows can record, share, and discover many amusingvideos. His cows already have posted N videos (1≤N≤5000), conveniently numbered 1…N.However, FJ can't quite figure out how to help his cows find new videos they might like. FJ wantsto create a list of "suggested videos" for every MooTube video. This way, cows will berecommended the videos most relevant to the ones they already watch.FJ devises a metric of "relevance," which determines, as the name suggests, how relevant twovideos are to each other. He picks N−1 pairs of videos and manually computes their pairwiserelevance. Then, FJ visualizes his videos as a network, where each video is a node and the N−1pairs of videos he manually considered are connected. Conveniently, FJ has picked his N−1 pairsso that any video can be reached from any other video along a path of connections in exactly oneway. FJ decides that the relevance of any pair of videos should be defined as the minimumrelevance of any connection along this path.Farmer John wants to pick a value K so that next to any given MooTube video, all other videoswith relevance at least K to that video will be suggested. However, FJ is worried that too manyvideos will be suggested to his cows, which could distract them from milk production! Therefore,he wants to carefully set an appropriate value of K. Farmer John would like your help answering anumber of questions about the suggested videos for certain values of K.INPUT FORMAT (file mootube.in):The first line of input contains NN and QQ (1≤Q≤5000).The next N−1 lines each describe a pair ofvideos FJ manually compares. Each line includes three integers pi, qi, and ri (1≤pi,qi≤N,1≤ri≤1,000,000,000), indicating that videos pi and qi are connected with relevance ri.The next Q lines describe Farmer John's Q questions. Each line contains two integers, ki and vi(1≤ki≤1,000,000,000,1≤vi≤N), indicating that FJ's i th question asks how many videos will besuggested to viewers of video vivi if K=ki.OUTPUT FORMAT (file mootube.out):Output QQ lines. On line ii, output the answer to FJ's i th question.SAMPLE INPUT:4 31 2 32 3 22 4 41 24 13 1SAMPLE OUTPUT:32Farmer John finds that videos one and two have relevance three, that videos two and three haverelevance two, and that videos two and four have relevance four. Based on this, videos one andthree have relevance min(3, 2) = 2, videos one and four have relevance min(3, 4) = 3, and videosthree and four have relevance min(2, 4) = 2.Farmer John wants to know how many videos will be suggested from video two if K=1, from videoone if K=3, and from video one if K=4. We see that with K=1, videos 1, 3, and 4 will be suggestedon video two. With K=4, no videos will be suggested from video one. With K=3, however, videos 2and 4 will be suggested from video one.。

USACO2019US O PEN C ONTEST,G OLDP ROBLEM1.S NAKES

USACO 2017 D ECEMBER C ONTEST , B RONZEP ROBLEM 3. M ILK M EASUREMENTFarmer John purchases three cows: Bessie, Elsie, and Mildred, each of whom initially produces 7 gallons of milk per day. Since the milk output of a cow is known to potentially change over time, Farmer John takes periodic measurements over the next 100days and scribbles them down in a log book. Entries in his log look like this:35 Bessie -214 Mildred +3The first entry indicates that on day 35, Bessie's milk output was 2 gallons lower than it was when last measured. The next entry indicates that on day 14, Mildred's milk output increased by 3 gallons from when it was last measured. Farmer John has only enough time to make at most one measurement on any given day. Unfortunately, he is a bit disorganized, and doesn't necessarily write down his measurements in chronological order. To keep his cows motivated, Farmer John proudly displays on the wall of his barn the picture of whichever cow currently has the highest milk output (if several cows tie for the highest milk output, he displays all of their pictures). Please determine the number of days on which Farmer John would have needed to change this display.INPUT FORMAT (file measurement.in):The first line of input contains , the number of measurements Farmer John makes. Each of the next lines contains one measurement, in the format above, specifying a day (an integer in the range 1..100), the name of a cow, and the change in her milk output since it was last measured (a nonzero integer). Each cow's milk output will always be in the range 0..1000.OUTPUT FORMAT (file measurement.out):Please output the number of days (an integer in the range 0..100) on which Farmer John needs to adjust his motivational display.SAMPLE INPUT:47 Mildred +34 Elsie -19 Mildred -11 Bessie +2SAMPLE OUTPUT:3Initially, all cows have milk output 7. On day 1, Bessie's milk output increases to 9, making her the unique cow with highest milk output and causing Farmer John to change his display. On day 4, Elsie's milk output decreases to 6, but this does not change the fact that Bessie is the sole cow in the lead. On day 7, Mildred jumps into the lead, changing the display, and on day 8,Mildred drops in production to be tied with Bessie, again changing the display.Problem credits: Brian Dean N N 。

As a Dutch citizen, I have lived in Europe for 46 years and studied European consumer behavior for decades.I believe that Sand River offers something unique to the European market. It has established long-term supply relations with herdsman (牧民) families and owns advanced German machinery. Thus it combines natural resources with modern manufacturing techniques. But equally important, Sand River works with modern fashion designers to create truly contemporary and appealing designs. The result is a newly-establishedcashmere (⽺绒) brand that appeals to a target group of high-income women.I met Mrs. King the first time in 2013. Since then, we have met several times and talked about Sand River "s philosophy, strategy, and appeal to both Chinese and international consumers. While you likely will find some valuable advice, you may come across a few tips that could mislead you."You need a lengthy cover letter." This probably is one of the "bad cover letter tips." Think about it: hiring managers have piles of resumes and cover letters to review. If yours is longer than the rest, it might not get read at all. Aim to get all of your points across in three brief paragraphs: a clear introduction that lets employers know which job you are applying for and why you are interested in the position; a paragraph that includes a few specific examples of how you have excelled (擅长) in past roles that are relevant to the open position; and a concluding paragraph that tells employers how you will benefit their company and requests a future meeting."Your cover letter is less important than your resume." Some hiringmanagers shove (随⼿扔) cover letters to the side, but most do not. Because you never know what type of hiring manager you are dealing with, it is best to submit a nice cover letter. While some employers place less emphasis on cover letters, others decide who to interview based on them. Remember that the point of a cover letter is to tell employers something that makes them want to meet you.1. Why should job candidates be careful when searching for advice to write a cover letter?A Some tips are not practical.B Some tips could be misleading.C It is impossible to get useful tips.D It is difficult to find valuable tips.2. Why shouldn't you write a lengthy cover letter?A Hiring managers may not read it at all.B Well-written cover letters may be read first.C It is difficult to write a good long cover letter.D You are unable to express your points clearly.3. According to the passage, the introductory paragraph of a cover letter should include ______.A your request for a job interviewB the position you are interested inC some examples of your achievementsD your education background and degree4. Which of the following should be included in the concluding paragraph of a cover letter?A Your expected salary.B Your hobbies and interests.C Your request for a meeting.D Your professional background.5. 2018USACO金级第一题(翻译)

Improved human well-being is one of the greatest triumphs of the modern era. The age of plenty has also led to an unexpected global health crisis: two billion people are either overweight or obese. Developed countries have been especially susceptible to unhealthy weight gain. However developing countries are now facing a similar crisis. Obesity rates have peaked in high income countries but are accelerating elsewhere. The combined findings of the World Health Organization and the World Bank showed that in 2016 Asia was home to half the world’s overweight children. One quarter was in Africa. Residents of developing nation cities are increasingly susceptible to obesity. According to India’s National Institute of Nutrition over a quarter of urban-dwelling men and nearly half of women are overweight.
I. Reading comprehensionPassage 1Since its founding in 1948, McDonald's has grown from a family burger (汉堡包) stand to a global fast-food chain, with more than 30,000 locations in 118 countries. With 58 million daily customers worldwide, McDonald’s is now so ubiquitous around the globe that The Economist publishes a global ranking of currencies' purchasing power based on the prices charged at the local McDonald’s, called the Big Mac Index (巨无霸指数).That’s not to say that every nation carries the same menu items: choices vary widely depending on location. Some Asian locations serve fried shrimp in a Big Mac roll, while McDonald’s in India doesn’t serve beef at all, relying instead on burgers made from vegetables, rice and beans. Not everyone in the world has been happy to greet Ronald McDonald when he moves to town. Many see McDonald's as a symbol of American economic and cultural chauvinism (沙文主义), and European nations in particular have viewed American-style fast food as an insult to their national food. A French farmer, Jose Bove, became something of a national hero in 1999 after he and a group of people destroyed a McDonald's under construction to protest globalization and "bad food." The next year, a bomb exploded in a French McDonald’s, killing a 27-year-old employee. He was born in 1888 in an Indian Territory(印第安人保护区)that is now Oklahoma. Like most Native American children then, he liked to fish, hunt, swim, and play games outdoors. (76)He was healthy and strong, but he had very little formal education. In 1950, Jim Thorpe was named the greatest American football player. He was also an Olympic gold medal winner. But Thorpe had many tragedies in his life.Jim had a twin brother who died when he was nine years old. By the time he was 16, his mother and father were also dead. Jim then went to a special school in Pennsylvania for Native American children. There, he learned to read and write and also began to play sports. Jim was poor, so he left school for two years to earn some money. During this time, he played on a baseball team. (77) The team paid him only $15 a week. Soon he returned to school to complete his education. Jim was a star athlete(运动员) in several sports, including baseball, running and football. He won many awards for his athletic ability, mainly for football. In many games, he scored all or most of the points for his team.In 1912, when Jim Thorpe was 24 years old, he became part of the U. S Olympic team. He competed in two very difficult events: the pentathlon and the decathlon. Both require great ability and strength. The pentathlon has five track and field events, including the long jump and the 1,500-meter race. The decathlon hasten track and field and filed events, with running, jumping, and throwing contests.People thought it was impossible for an athlete to competein both the pentathlon and the decathlon. All one has to do is walk by almost any nice gym and notice all the healthy, sweating, “skinny”members. Sometimes they stare at those of us who are , well, zaftig. It is easy to see the judgment behind their eyes. Who wants to put up with that? Many people are self-conscious of their bodies and feel isolated when joining workout classes or while exercising, especially if they are larger than most of the others in the group. Now the fitness industry is finally paying attention. Popular gyms are catering(迎合) to overweight and weight conscious customers by dedicating areas where the “skinny”people are not allowed. There are even gyms or programs that require members to be at least 50 pounds overweight to participate.Trainers recommended functional fitness as a practical goal, rather than six-pack abs(六块腹肌). (79)They often use text messages to stay in touch with customers.Often at these specialized gyms, the trainers are overweight themselves, or working on their own weight goals, and this can help those people with anxiety caused by poor body image. The equipment has been designed for use by larger people. Wider seats, more cushioning, no mirrors, and tinted(有色的) windows for privacy, are all important changes.(80) Hopefully these types of gyms will successfully grow innumbers in the future. The idea is a very simple and potentially popular one. If it helps those of us who are bigger exercise more and improve our fitness level, it’s a step in the right direction.11. The word zaftig in Paragraph 1 is closest in meaning to ______.A. fatB. healthyC. friendlyD. polite12.

其中,第i堆的草料包风味值为F i(1 ≤ F i≤ 109)和辣度值为S i( 1 ≤ S i≤ 109)。
输入格式(file hayfeast.in):
