授课对象是高二学生。
介绍的是西方绘画艺术简史以及各时期绘画风格和特征。
本文是一篇包含副标题的说明文，结构明晰，以时间顺序分为四个时间段，并配有四副插图，分别为中世纪的亚伯拉罕接待天使，文艺复兴时期的巴卡斯蒂利昂伯爵像，印象派的日出印象，现代派的海边人物形象。
开篇首句直接阐明了影响艺术发展的因素：风俗习惯和信仰。
之后介绍了四个时期西洋绘画艺术流派和特征。
本课话题是学生喜爱的绘画，但由于词汇专业性强，可能成为学生在理解文本时的障碍。
因此可利用绘画作品或阅读技能帮助学生理解文本。
设计思路：基于文本是一篇以西方绘画艺术简史的说明文，笔者综合视野的阅读观的思想为指引，为内容、思维、语言三位一体的，目的是不仅训练思维而且培养他们对艺术的兴趣和热爱。
