北师大版英语八年级上册期中测试阅读理解专项训练试题及答案

Everyone gets the blues sometimes, but some people can feel so down that they need to see a doctor. More than just feeling sad, such serous depression（沮丧）can make people feel hopeless and cannot get out of bed.

Doctors often give medicines（药物）for people’s depression, but it may not be the only way to help them. Bright lights may also help. Although the idea of using lights to help people with depression has been around for at least 20 years, scientists do not know if it really works. Scientist Robert N. Golden read 173 studies of light treatments（治疗）. He found that only 20 of these studies made a good plan to test the work of the light.

A closer look at these 20 studies, however, surprised Godden. He found people with a depression called SAD get much better when they see bright lights. If patients（病人）are taking medicines to fight depression, the light treatment seems to improve the work of the medicines.

So, why don’t you paint your room into a bright color or wear some bright clothes when you feel sad next time?

One day, an old man was on his way to a village. Suddenly he saw a board standing by the
