雅思考试大作文高频必考之广告Some people say that advertising has positive economic effects.
Others think it has negative social effects because it will make people feel dissatisfied with who they are and what they have.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Advertising, being the invention of the 20 century has always been a complicated enterprise.
My opinions are mixed in terms of its effects. It is a complexity on economy and society as well.
Advertisements can dramatically boost business. For this reason, some acclaim its advantages.
In the past, when there were no TV, no internet, a good product couldn't reach consumers whereas nowadays, both traditional media and new media can promote sales not only in local market but also in global market.
In other words, advertising has already been an integral part in modern business.
From commercials, customers can have a deep dive about products. We can hardly ever see 500 fortune that haven't advertised.
Nonetheless, endless marketing campaign and advertisements start a cult for consumerism and materialism.
Numerous advertisements try to brainwash us by implanting the idea that only by buying their product, can we feel successful in our life.
Apart from that, commercials nowadays manipulate people/ creep into our daily life in such a subconscious and subtle manner that it is difficult for consumers to be aware of its purpose. Many luxurious advertisers invite celebrities as their brand ambassadors and associate their brands with other labels, such as a higher status, a happy life. The list goes on. Therefore, it is not uncommon to see some young people end up being shopaholics in this cult.
What it boils down here is that government should regulate advertising industry before more people are victimized by the fake, exaggerated, hedonism oriented advertisements.。
