It was the first day of my new school year. I woke up
early in the morning feeling excited and nervous at the same time. After getting ready, I quickly had breakfast and headed to school.
As I entered the classroom, I saw new faces all around me. The teacher, Miss Wang, welcomed us and introduced herself. She made us feel comfortable and told us that it was normal
to have mixed emotions on the first day of school. She encouraged us to make new friends and enjoy the learning process.
We started with an ice-breaking session, where we shared our names, hobbies, and interesting facts about ourselves. It was a great way to get to know each other. Then, Miss Wang began the lesson by teaching us basic classroom phrases and expressions. We learned how to ask for permission, how to
greet each other, and how to introduce ourselves in English.
To make the class more interactive, Miss Wang divided us into pairs and asked us to interview each other using the phrases we just learned. This activity not only improved our speaking skills but also helped us to bond with our classmates. We were able to learn about each other's
interests and experiences.
After the interview activity, we moved on to the textbook. We read a simple story about a boy named Jack who was also starting his first day at a new school. The story was
relatable and helped us understand the different emotions
that Jack went through. We discussed the story in groups, sharing our thoughts and opinions.
Miss Wang then assigned us some exercises to practice what we had learned. We were given worksheets with fill-in-the-blank questions and vocabulary exercises. The class worked diligently, and Miss Wang provided guidance and assistance whenever we needed it.
At the end of the lesson, Miss Wang gave us some homework to complete. She emphasized the importance of reviewing the lesson and encouraged us to ask questions if we had any doubts. As the bell rang, signaling the end of the class, I left with a sense of accomplishment and excitement for the days to come.
Unit 1 of the English textbook was a great introduction to the new school year. It helped us overcome our initial nervousness and allowed us to connect with our classmates. I realized that my first day at school was not as daunting as I had imagined, thanks to the supportive environment created by Miss Wang and my fellow classmates.
