英语听力原文:
Text 1 M: Let’s make a big breakfast this morning. We can have bacon and eggs, bread, cheese, coffee, and coffee cake. What do you say to that?
W: No, thanks. I can’t eat all of that. It’s too heavy for me in the morning. Besides, didn’t you plan to go running with Mathew from work at 10 o’clock?
Text 2W: Why were you late this morning? Don’t tell me your car broke down on the way to work again. And you already had three accidents!
M: I am really sorry. I was late because my car couldn’t start.
Text 3M: Mom asked me to go grocery shopping before she left this morning. But I need to finish my school project. Can you do it, Martha?
W: I guess so. I just finished my homework. What did mum want you to buy?
Text 4W: Can you hand me my cell phone? It’s on the desk.
M: Sure… Wait. Whose picture is this in your phone?
W: Uh – oh! That’s my sister’s boyfriend! I must have taken her phone by mistake when we left her house. Ours look exactly alike!
Text 5W: I had a great experience on the class trip. Can I tell you about it?
M: Sure, Suzy. What did you do at the museum?
W: We learned about the history of our state. Did you know that other people lived in New York for a long time, before people from Europe came here?
Text 6 W: where are my glasses? I can’t find them. Have you seen them anywhere?
M: No, Sweetie. Where did you last put them?
W: Right here on my desk, as usual.
M: OK, when was that?
W: Just before I went to bed.
M: Hmm..., maybe you knocked them off in the middle of the night by mistake.
W: No, that can’t be it. My desk is far away from my bed.
M: Well, maybe you left them in the kitchen, and you just don’t remember. You were studying there late last night.
W: You might be right. Will you please check for me?
Text 7 W: Hi, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Smith, but I can’t make it on that day.
M: When was your appointment?
W: Monday.
M: At what time?
W: 10:00 in the morning.
M: OK, I’m looking at your appointment now. What day would you like to change it to?
W: I would prefer next Thursday.
M: And what time would be best for you?
W: I’d like to come at 2:00 in the afternoon.
M: Sorry, that time isn’t available. How about 8:00 in the morning?
W: OK, I can make that.
M: Fine I’ve just put you down for that time. We look forward to seeing you.
Text 8 W: Do you think Dad is OK? He seems a bit sad.
M: I know. Mum told me that he lost his job a few weeks ago.
W: What? That’s terrible. Why wouldn’t she tell me?
M: She probably didn’t want to worry you.
W: I understand. I just wish he felt comfortable talking to me about thing like this. He’s such a great father.
M: I wouldn’t worry. Dad is a very smart man. He’ll find another job very quickly.
W: I know. But in the meantime, we should try to cheer him up. Let’s cook him his favorite dinner tonight. Roast beef and potatoes, remember?
M: That’s a great idea. I’m sure that will make him happy.
Text 9
W: Hello, Mr. Mendoza. We are here today to talk about your daughter, Lily.
M: Yes, I know. Thank you for seeing this late. I have a very stressful job, and I work late. Is everything all right?
W: Well, Lily has been doing very poorly lately. She never hands in her homework on time. She also never pays attention in class.
M: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I think she is just a bad student. I’ll speak to her as soon as I get home.
W: Well, your daughter is actually very smart for her age. I think that she is just bored, and is being lazy. She always does very well in the exams, which shows that she knows the material. I think she just needs a challenge. So I was thinking of maybe having her move up a grade to see how she performs in a more advanced class. What do you think?
M: I think that’s a great idea! I knew she was a smart girl. Thank you so much for your help!
W: You are welcome. I’m happy to help.
Text 10
Don’t forget to get ready for the Christmas festival! Everyone is invited to attend, and your friends and your family are welcome, too. We will need some members to help prepare for our yearly event. Please sign up on the sheet of paper by the door if you can help with anything. The list of things to be done includes: buying food, cooking the dinner, making decorations, and cleaning up after the party. We could use at least five people for each of these activities.
Also, please give as much money for the festival as you can, so we can buy all the things we need to make this a great event. If every member here today gives twenty dollars, we should have enough. Remember that the money for the Christmas festival does not come out of our normal membership fees.
One more thing, each adult who comes to the party must bring a separate gift for a child. This year, as usual, we will be giving the presents to children who have no parents. If you need ideas, just ask Mark at the back of the room.。
