Burns
Skin acts as a 2 barrier against disease, poisons and the sun’s harmful rays. Hot liquids, steam, and so on can 3 cause burns. First degree burns affect the 4 top layer of the skin. 5 Second degree burns are very painful. Third degree burns have little or no pain because 6 nerves are damaged. Clothes and jewellery near burns should be removed because bacteria from them could8 infect the burns. It’s better to put 9 cold water on the first and second burns for ten minutes. Use a dry and clean 10 bandage to cover the burned area.
