Unit 8 What Time Do Yongxian’s Classes Begin? (The First Period)
一、教学对象分析:
通过UNIT 7的学习,学生以基本掌握形容词比较级的用法,对于一些副词如early, late, high等也较为熟悉,这些都给学习副词的比较级奠定了基础。

五年级的学生活泼好动,在教学中可以通过游戏的形式让学生进行学习,并且创设情景让学生能更自然的理解和运用有关的学习内容。

对于属于高年段的五年级的学生适当设计一些课堂的笔头练习也是十分必要的。

二、教学内容分析:
本节课是Module 8中Unit 1的第一课时, 主要让学生通过学习对话,对比Yongxian的新教室和学习环境,从而进一步巩固形容词比较级的用法,和初步了解副词的比较级的用法。

三、教学目标:
语言知识:(1)掌握本课“四会”词汇如country, language, tidy…和短语have to等
(2)掌握句型:…get up earlier than …等副词的比较级的句式
语言技能:听说为主,熟悉所学课文,用句型进行简单的交际。

情感态度:通过学习,让学生懂得珍惜保护好自己的学习环境,关心老师和其他同学。

四、学习策略:
1) 模仿和演练。

2)积极与他人合作,共同完成任务。

五、教学重点:四会单词和短语。

六、教学难点:副词的比较级
七、教学准备:单词和短语卡,相片和图片若干张以及录音机、光碟等。

八、前置性作业:布置学生自学新单词
九、Teaching Procedures:
1. Leading-in
Greeting
ask the pupils to sing a song : Our New School
ask the pupils to act out the dialogue of Unit 7
tell the pupils the aim of this class: we have known something about Yongxian’s new school;
today we will know something about his new classroom and his study.
2. pre-task
1) get the pupils to know something about Yongxian’s new classroom and his study.
Ask the pupils watch the dialogue of CD-ROM part by part and ask the questions:
Do some of Yongxian’s classmates come from the other countries?
What languages do Yongxian and his classmates speak at school?
How is Yongxian’s new classroom?
What does Yongxian think of his new classroom?
What time does his classes begin?
What time does he leave school?
How many pupils are there in his class?
What’s the difference between Yongxian and his friend s’ classroom?
2) teach the new words while the pupils answering the questions.
3) chant:
Yongxian studies in a new school.
Everything is tidy and cool.
He gets up earlier than his friends.
He leaves school later than his friends.
He works harder and tries to be better.
4).学习副词的比较级,初步了解其用法。

a. show some pictures and ask the pupils to talk about them.
For example: Book P.36 Ex.2, Activity Book P32 Ex4
Make a model, then ask the pupils discuss in groups
b. guessing game: Who jumps higher? Who sings better?
For example: Ask 2 pupils to jump, before they jump get the class guess who jumps higher?
5) ask the pupils listen to the tape and practice reading.
3. while-task
Discuss and answer the questions in groups. Then fill in the form.
4. post-task
Ask the pupils report in class.
For example: …gets up (earlier) than me in our groups

listen to the tape and read the text, try to act the dialogue
copy the new words and keep them in your mind

Work With Language (the second period)
一、教学目标:
能对代词有一个系统的回顾和总结
能分清不同功能的代词并能在句子里面进行正确运用
能更加熟练地在句子中运用形容词副词的比较级
能把所学知识与日常生活联系运用
二、教学重点和难点
1. 形容词、副词比较级的运用以及在日常生活中的简单运用
2. 人称代词和物主代词的区分和正确运用
三、教学媒体
实物投影仪,代词单词卡片等
四、教学过程
Leading-in
Read and act the dialogue of unit 8 in different roles
Work in groups to complete the sentences in one or two minutes on page 36, No. 2, then have a quick check and compare which group has finished fast, which is faster; Which group is good, which is better.
Everybody chants “good, better, best…….”
Pre-task
teaching aims
Game: Grow Thinner and Grow Fatter, Grow Taller and Grow Shorter------You grow thinner than her. / You grow taller than him. /……. (divide the whole class into four groups, teacher guides the students to say out these sentences and give points)
Present and show the word cards:
I you he she it we they
me you him her it us them
Compare the result of the game------Your groups has more points than ours. /Her groups has more points than mine. (teach “mine”)/…….
Present and show the word cards:

mine yours his hers its ours theirs
Show the students the words on page 37 No. 1 and ask them to read together, then compare the meanings and functions of different pronouns, teacher helps to give summary.
Ask students to make their own sentences in pairs (and read them out)
Show the picture of the example of page 38 No. 2, ask them to look at it carefully, and then give the example
Ask the students to look at the rest of the pictures carefully and compare the people in the pictures
While-task
Ask them to choose one or two pictures they like and make dialogues after the example in
pairs (and present)
Make a mini survey: (teacher gives example first)
Post-task
Ask students to present their dialogues in front of the class
Read out the sentences they’ve made
Make a report after they’ve finished the mini survey

Assess in groups and teacher gives comments
Homework
Make dialogues using the rest of the pictures orally
Choose one column (e.g. she, her, her, hers) to make four sentences, write them in the exercise book.
反思:充分利用小诗,游戏等辅助教学材料,帮助学生在轻松的气氛中复习已学的知识,也让他们为学习做好准备,调动学习的积极性. 利用多媒体并创设语言情景,增加小组合作学习或同位互相练习的机会,让学生在情景中合作地学习语言,运用语言.。
