不支持孩子从事游戏行业的原因英语作文Why Kids Shouldn't Work in Video Games
Hello everyone! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I love playing video games - who doesn't? Games are so much fun and can take you on amazing adventures. But I don't think kids my age should be able to work making video games. Let me explain why.
First of all, being a kid is hard work already! We have school, homework, chores, sports practice, and so many other things to do. Adding a full-time job on top of all that would be way too much for us. Grown-ups can handle having a job because their brains are fully developed. But our brains are still growing and developing. Too much work and stress can actually mess up how our brains grow!
Imagine having to wake up at 6am, go to school all day, then go straight to the video game office and work until 8pm. When would we have time for activities, seeing friends, or just being kids? We'd be absolutely exhausted all the time. Kids need lots of downtime, playtime, and sleep to stay healthy. A job making video games doesn't really allow for that.
Speaking of health, sitting at a desk coding all day is really bad for you physically too. Kids are supposed to be running around, playing outside, and getting exercise. Staring at screens for hours on end and not moving around can make you sick. Our bodies need to move!
There are also ethical concerns with kids being game developers. Some games have violent or inappropriate content that isn't suitable for children to work on. How can a 9-year-old help create a bloody shooter game or a game with sexy characters? That just doesn't seem right.
And what about going into offices and working with adults you don't know? That raises all sorts of safety issues. You can't have children working alongside random grown-ups without a ton of supervision and strict rules to keep kids safe. Game studios would have to completely change the way they operate.
My friends and I try to make our own basic games and mods as a hobby, which is fine. But turning that into actual professional work is a whole other thing. It takes years of coding practice and knowledge to make real games at a studio. We're just not qualified for that yet! We're still learning.
Speaking of learning, one of the most important things for kids is to learn all the subjects in school. If we had video game
jobs, we'd have zero time for studying math, reading, science, and everything else. How could we properly develop our minds that way? School has to come before any job.
Don't get me wrong, I desperately want to make my own games one day. It seems like such an amazing and creative career. But I know I have to be patient and stay a kid for now. Once my brain is fully grown and I get more coding experience, maybe then I can work at a game studio. But not yet! Kids should just focus on being kids.
I understand some families are very poor and may want their kids to work. But making video games doesn't seem like the best option. Those jobs require a ton of education, skills, and mental focus that kids just don't have yet. It's not a good fit at all. There are other jobs like delivering newspapers that are better suited for youngsters who need to earn some money.
So in summary, kids shouldn't work as video game developers because:
We have way too much else going on with school, homework, activities etc.
It's too physically and mentally draining on our developing bodies and brains.
Some game content is inappropriate for kids.
Studios aren't a safe environment for children to work in.
We lack the coding experience and skills required.
We need to prioritize learning standard school subjects first.
While poor families need money, game jobs aren't ideal child labor.
I hope you can see why kids making video games is probably
a bad idea! We need to resist the urge to grow up too fast. Video games should just be for fun playtime, not work. Let's stay kids while we can! Thanks for reading my essay!。
