Mr. Grasshopper's plan worked very well. Soon the three friends were together on the other side of the river and rested on the grass. How happy they were!
Statue: Since you refused his tools, he started working on me instead. I knew that I would be something different and special after his hard work. So I bore all the pain.
The swan noticed that and said on purpose,"Why do you keep touching the water, brother? Is that another skill?"
"No," said the crow. He knew he had lost the competition, so he asked the swan for help, "I'm in trouble because of my pride! If you don't help me, I will lose my life." The swan took him on his back and flew back to the beach.

A An ant was collecting food for the winter. She was carrying more than her own weight. She felt proud of how strong she was. The ant sat on the roadside to rest. Just then, a caterpillar (毛虫) came. The ant thought the caterpillar was ugly. "Where are you going?" asked the ant proudly. "I'm heading home," replied the caterpillar. "Where's your home?" asked the ant. "In a tree," said the caterpillar. The ant went on her way leaving the caterpillar behind.

B Three friends were jumping together all the way until they came to a river. Mr. Bird said he couldn't jump over the river. He said he must fly across and wait for them on the other side. Mr. Frog said he couldn't jump over the river, either. He said he must swim to cross it. Then Mr. Grasshopper (蚱蜢) said, "I cannot jump or fly so far, nor can I swim. If we still want to play together, the three of us must work together."
Then the swan flew up, and began flying over the sea. The crow flew after him, making all kinds of comments(评论) about the swan's flying. They kept flying till they couldn't see the land and there was nothing but water on all sides. The crow was so tired that he found it hard to stay in the air and he had to try to stop himself from falling into the water.
Mr. Grasshopper explained his idea to them. "Please, Mr. Bird, fly to a tree, bring back a stick and throw it on the water. While you and I stand on the stick, Mr. Frog can swim to lead us across the river. And then we can stay together."
Later, the ant happened to find the home of the caterpillar. She looked around for the caterpillar but couldn't find it anywhere. As the sun rose over the mountains, the ant looked towards the sky. She was surprised to see the most beautiful animal. A butterfly(蝴蝶) was flyiany beautiful marble tiles (大理石地砖) in a museum. And there was also a huge marble statue (雕像). Many people came to see the statue. One night, one of the marble tiles started talking to the marble statue. Tile: Hey, Statue. Don't you think it's unfair that everybody comes here to visit you while stepping on us?
Don't be proud of what you can do and try to be modest (谦虚 的). That's what the crow finally understood.
1. What competition did the crow ask for? (不超过5个词) __A__f_ly_i_n_g__c_o_m_p_e_t_i_ti_o_n_._
Statue: Do you still remember the day when the artist tried to work on you, but you refused?
Tile: Yes. We turned him down because we didn't want to get hurt.
"I'm that ugly caterpillar," smiled the butterfly. "Wow!" cried the ant. She finally realized _____________________________.
1. What did the ant think of the caterpillar?(不超过5个词) __It__w__a_s_u_g_l_y_. 2. Where was the caterpillar's home? (不超过5个词) _I_n__a__t_re_e_._
C A group of swans (天鹅) flew down to a beach where a crow (乌鸦) was jumping around. The crow thought he could fly better than the swans. "Let's have a flying competition. I'll show you what real flying is!" the crow said. One of the swans took up the challenge. The crow flew in circles, performed other flying skills, and then came down and looked proudly at the swan.
