学生们知道感恩节的相关信息，但对于感恩节的历史不是很了解，因此通过视频，使学生对感恩节的历史有过了解。懂得感恩的意义。
教学目标
在本节课学习结束时，学生能够：
1、说出关于度过感恩节的相关词汇，如：turkey, reunion, be proud of等。
2、通过阅读完成相关任务，获取作者一家过感恩节的相关信息。

初二的学生具有过渡性和动荡性的心理特点，处于两极分化的突出时候，学生差异较大，因此在任务设计上要注重分层，面向全体，充分调动每个学生的积极性。
同时，学生在英语的听、说、读、写方面相对已经奠定了稳固的基础。我把对他们学习的 重点放在了知识的继续积累和巩固复习上，如：重点词汇和句型。为了使学生牢固掌握以往所学知识，在教学的过程中起到指引、启发、解惑的作用，帮助学生认识接受知识，归纳整理知识，从而提高学习效果。

1、教材分析
本课是北师大版教材八年级英语下册第三单元第九课，话题为感恩节。本课为本单元的第三课，主 要讲述了主人公一家人发生在感恩节的故事。本课通过口语问答的形式了解学生对感恩节的认识，从而引导到本课的内容。通过观看视频，使学生了解感恩节的历史，知道感恩的来源，加深对感恩的认识。经过粗读和细读的方式，引导学生获取主人公家庭在感恩节发生的故事的具体信息。在进行输出性活动的同时，注意对学生进行情感教育，要尊重不同节国家节日的风俗习惯，感恩节追重要的不仅仅是吃到什么，而要懂得感恩，于此同时，家庭成员之间的情感沟通更为重要。
