We practiced using time expressions like "in the morning," "in the afternoon," and "at night." It was interesting to see how everyone's routines were different.
In Unit 1, 2, and 3, we also learned many new vocabulary words. We played games and did exercises to help us remember them. It was challenging at times, but our teacher made it fun by using flashcards and interactive activities.
In addition to vocabulary, we also learned grammar in Unit 123. We studied different verb tenses like present simple, present continuous, and past simple. It was a bit tricky at first, but with lots of practice, we became more confident in using them correctly.
One of my favorite parts of Unit 123 was the reading comprehension exercises. We read short stories and answered questions to test our understanding. It was like going on an adventure through the pages of a book. I discovered that reading can be so much fun!
To improve our speaking skills, we had many opportunities to practice conversations with our classmates. We did role plays

My English Lessons So Far
Hello everyone! My name is Lily and I'm a 7th grader. I've been learning English since I was very little. This year, we've covered Units 1, 2 and 3 in our textbooks and I wanted to tell you all about what I've learned!
Unit 1 was all about daily routines and household chores. We started by learning vocabulary words like "make the bed", "do the laundry", "wash the dishes" and "vacuum the floor". My teacher had us practice using these in sentences like "I make my bed every morning" or "My brother vacuums the house on Saturdays".
Then we moved on to telling the time. We learned to say things like "It's eight fifteen" or "The movie starts at seven thirty". Telling time was kind of tricky at first but we did lots of practice activities like asking each other "What time is it?" and giving the answers.
After that, we learned how to talk about our daily routines using time expressions like "in the morning", "at noon", and "in
the evening". We described our typical days by saying things like "In the morning, I get dressed and eat breakfast. At noon, I have lunch at school. In the evening, I do my homework."
The final part of Unit 1 was learning how to make polite requests. We learned phrases like "Could you please..." and "Would you mind..." For example, you could say "Could you please take out the garbage?" or "Would you mind setting the table?" Using these made us sound more polite when asking someone to do something.
Unit 2 was all about shopping, food, and staying healthy. We started by learning words for different types of stores, like "grocery store", "bakery", "bookstore", and "department store". Then we practiced dialogues where we asked questions like "Where can I buy a new jacket?" or "Do you know where the toy store is?"
Next, we learned tons of food vocabulary like "eggs", "milk", "bread", "vegetables", and "fruit". We talked about foods we liked or disliked using sentences like "I love pizza but I don't like broccoli". We also described how to prepare simple dishes by saying things like "First, you chop the onions. Then, you fry them in a pan."
After food, we moved on to talking about being healthy and doing exercise. We learned words like "jog", "swim", "play sports", and "go to the gym". We made sentences like "I jog every morning to stay fit" or "My sister goes to the gym three times a week". We also learned about healthy habits by saying things like "You should eat more fruits and vegetables" or "It's important to get enough sleep".
In the last part of Unit 2, we combined everything by learning how to order food at a restaurant. We practiced polite phrases like "May I have the menu, please?" and "I'd like the chicken salad, please." We also learned how to make special requests like "Can I have that without onions?" or "I'd like my steak well-done."
Unit 3 was my favorite - it was all about traveling! We started by learning the vocabulary for traveling by plane, train, bus, or car. Words like "airport", "station", "traffic", and "road trip". We talked about our experiences by saying things like "I took the train to my grandma's house" or "We went on a road trip last summer".
Then we learned how to ask for and give directions. We practiced using phrases like "How do I get to the mall?" and giving responses with prepositions like "Go straight, then turn
left at the light". We also learned to describe locations using words like "across from", "next to", and "between".
After that, we moved on to talking about different vacation destinations and attractions. We named different countries, cities, and landmarks, like "I visited the Eiffel Tower in Paris" or "Egypt is famous for the Great Pyramids". We described what we did by saying "We went hiking in the mountains" or "We saw amazing ancient ruins".
The best part was when we learned all about hotels and hospitality phrases. We picked up useful expressions like "We have a reservation for two nights" and "Can we get a
non-smoking room, please?" We also learned how to make polite complaints, like "I'm sorry but our room is not clean" or "There seems to be a problem with the air conditioning".
Whew, that was a lot to cover in just 3 units! As you can see, my English classes have been very practical and focused on
real-life situations. I feel much more confident now about using English for things like running errands, eating out, traveling, and more. The conversations and dialogues we practiced will be so useful.
I'm really excited to continue learning more English. Next up, we'll be studying how to describe people's personalities and
appearances. I'll be sure to let you know what new phrases and expressions I pick up! Until next time, thanks for reading about my English lessons so far. Bye!
