一、教学目标
1. 复习本单元所学习的单词和词组。
2. 掌握下列重点句型:
Last week, in a quiet neighborhood, something strange happened...
We now know what was happening in the neighborhood...
Now the mystery is solved. People in the neighborhood...
3. 能够掌握并运用情态动词表推测的用法。
4. 能够使用目标语言写出事件发生的过程和事件发展的可能性。
5. 培养学生根据已有事实推测事件发展可能性的能力,面对暂时无法解释的事情,不信谣不传谣。
二、教学重点及难点
重点:
1. 掌握本单元常用词汇及表达方式。
2. 使用目标语言写出事件发生的过程和事件发展的可能性。
难点:
运用情态动词表推测的用法,有条理地写出事件发生的过程和事件发展的可能性。

四、教学过程
Step 1 Revision
Practice and review some words.
【设计意图】复习有关本单元词汇的用法,检验旧知。
Step 2 Pre-writing
Look at the pictures and talk about them.
【设计意图】通过对图片进行讨论来激发学生的表达欲望,锻炼学生口语表达能力,并引出3a的学习内容。
Work on 3a
1.Read the article in 3a again and list all their ideas.
【设计意图】重温课文,回忆细节,为下面的3b写作打好基础。
Step 3 While-writing
Work on 3b
1. Invite a student to read 3b to the class. Make sure students understand it quite well.
2. Learn the writing guide.
3. Ask Ss to look at the newspaper headline and finish the article about the strange happenings.
4. As students are writing, move around the classroom offering help as needed. Ask several students to read their articles to the class.
【设计意图】学生明确写作任务,老师通过构建文章结构的方式,帮助学生快速理清写作方向。
然后通过引导学生当堂进行写作训练,提高学生的写作水平。
