1.OBJECT AND FIELD OF APPLICATION
This norme defines the specifications for sewing and knitting threads.
2.EXPRESSION ON DOCUMENTS
Application of the requirements of this norme must be expressed as follows:
•designation of the material,
•identification of the material used,
•reference of this norme.

3.GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
These requirements are those of norme B650110with the exception of the paragraphs indicated below which are expanded as follows:
DELIVERY CONDITIONS
•GENERAL
The threads must be supplied in conformity with the instructions of user plants and departments concerned. The oiling amount will be between3%and7%(except for the330tex thread A06which will be between 7%and15%).
•PRESENTATION
The threads must be free from visible defects such as a significant variation in section,cutting of strands, foreign matter,twisting defects(balancing)and any defects likely to be prejudicial to normal workshop use.

SPECIAL TESTS
Thread combustibility
A thread is never used on its own,its function is to assemble at least two parts or provide a
decoration with a substrate in any case.This explains why the combustibility test is carried out on
a sewed thread on a reference substrate(woven crossed textile wool/polyester defined in
méthode d’essai D441073).
The thread to be tested shall be used for the lower and upper seam lines(knotted stitch).
Produce3parallel seam lines with two free lengths(flame side)of10mm±1mm.The first seam
shall be produced in the middle of the test specimen so that the flame is on the seam axis.The
two other seam lines shall be produced,on both sides,approximately5mm apart.
Dimensions of the test specimens identical to méthode d’essai D451333.
From the prepared test specimens,strictly apply méthode d’essai D451333.
