第1课时Section A 1a-2d

Step 1 Greetings
Greet the class as usual.
Step 2 Leading in and 1a
The teacher asks: what do you usually do when you study Englis?
A: I often read English books.
T: Good . A studies by reading English books . That’s a good way.
教师再问另一个同学。
Then let the students open their books and finish the task in 1a.
在此过程中教师可鼓励学生相互间开展交流,了解他人和反思自己的学习方式。
Step 3 1b-1c
T: OK, class, let’s go through the task in 1b to get the instructions.
Then play the tape for the first time.
The students fill in the blanks.
Then play the tape for the second time.
Check the answers.
Follow the examples in 1c and make conversations.
Let some students present their dialogue.
Step 4 2a-2c
The teacher let the students read the questions aloud in 2a and make sure they read the words Correctly.
然后让学生根据2b活动内容预估1a活动答语,找出自己觉得生僻的词汇请教同伴或查词典。
Then play the tape for the first time.
The students fill in the blanks.
Then let the students follow the examples and make conversations.
Step 5 Pair work
First show some questions to help the students understand the dialogue.
What are the names of the girl and the boy in the conversation?
Who has the problem? And who is going to help?
What’s the problem?
学生回答以上问题,教师然后呈现以下问题,让学生独立完成。
How does Jack feel at the very start?
What makes him have this kind of feeling?
What’s Jack’s problem when he reads? And what does Annie suggest?
What’s Jack’s problems with words ?And what does Annie’s advice?
Check the answers with the students.
Remind the students to sum up the important language points.
a bit nervous ; be patient; word by word; The more you read , the faster you will be. Then let the students read the conversation aloud.

Step 6 Homework
Read the conversation again and again.

第2课时Section A 3a-4c

Step 1 Greetings
Greet the class as usual.
Step 2 Lead in
将带有课文截图的多媒体教学资源PPT呈现,引导学生就标题和插图进行讨论,在此过程中教师可有意引出本节课的生疏词汇。
Then give the following questions.
What do you think the text is about when you read this title?
What’s the girl doing in the picture?
How do you think the girl is learning English, according to the picture?
How does watching English movies help us learn English? Or what can we learn from an English movie?
Step 3 Reading
Then let the students read the questions in 3a并关注其中的要点:the secret to language learning.
Then read the passage with the questions.
Ask the students discuss and correct their answers.
Check the answers with the whole class.
教师让学生再次细读课文,提醒学生尤其关注“看电影学英语”的细节,对其好处进行划线摘录。
学生浏览3b,根据回忆完成3b任务,然后再与课文核对、检验、修正自己的答案。
Read the passage for the third time 师生共同明确文中值得关注和学习的语言现象。
An English movie called To Story; fall in love with… , the secret to… , a piece of cake , It serves someone right.
Read the passage for the fourth time and to get a thorough understanding of the passage.
Step 4 Group work
Get the students to work in groups to act out what happened in the passage. After several minutes, ask some groups to act it out in front of the class.
Step 5 Grammar Focus
教师引导学生大声朗读the sentences in grammar focus and the teacher goes around the classroom to give them necessary help.
教师引导学生用完整的语句完成4a 活动,然后让学生进行访谈式交流。
引导学生观察左栏中的6个语句,其中包括了英语学习的四项基本技能和两大基础知识;然后让学生讨论还有那些方法有助于听、说、读、写能力的提高。
Then let the students finish the tasks in 4b and ask them to check each other. At last ask some top students read their answers in the class.

The teacher shows the following questions and let the students discuss.
Do you think English is a difficult subject?
What makes it difficult for you to learn English?
Which gives you a headache : memorizing words, learning grammar, listening, speaking, reading or writing?
学生讨论回答这些问题。
Step 3 1a-1e
学生按照要求连续完成1a 和1b活动,教师巡视指导,获取反馈,然后让学生陈述自己的选择并填写自己的困难之处,教师可以以建议的形式向学生提出解决方案。
听前预估。
学生根据书本`1c活动要求所列问题,预估Paul 在英语学习上所存在的问题。
教师巡视,引导学生展开交流,以达到复习扩充词汇的目的。

Then play the tape for the second time and ask them finish the task in 1d.
Ask the students practice the dialogue in pairs.
Step 4 Reading

Connect something new with knowledge and experience you already have.
Receive well what you have learned.
Lack concentration in class when doing homework.

Then let the students read the whole passage and try to finish the task in 2b.

Then let the students discuss with their partner and correct their mistakes.
At last ask the students to finish the tasks in 3b.

Step 4 Self Check
Make sure the students master the words in Activity 1 and finish the task by themselves.
Check the answers with the students.
Give the students a few minutes to read the passage aloud to get a thorough understanding of the whole passage.
First let the students read the sentences aloud.
Then finish the task by themselves.
