With more and more Chinese restaurants in the USA, most Americans have fallen in love with Chinese food. But it seems that they have trouble using chopsticks. How to help an American use chopsticks easily? Thanks to a new invention, it may no longer be a problem.
A company in America wanted to help people who hoped to pick up Chinese food in an easier way. They found that when a pair of chopsticks and a fork work together, they work better. When it is broken into two parts, a chork can be used as a pair of chopsticks.
“It’s a perfect way to solve the problem. Now, Americans can enjoy delicious Chinese food with chopsticks, ”says the manager of the company. Many American s agree.“This could possibly be the greatest invention of the 21st century.”

Ballpoint pen is a common school thing in the school. China produces 40 million pens each year and has more than 3,000 pen manufacturers (生产商). But one of its parts —the tip of the pen can’t be made in China. It has long depended on foreign technologies—from Japan, Germany and Switzerland.
Both the machines and materials needed to produce ballpoint pens require precise (精确的) technology. It has challenged Chinese for years. In the past, we had to spend 120 million RMB on such materials every year.
According to Wang Jinhui, a senior engineer, such manufacturing techniques were secrets. As a result, China had to develop its own technology without any guide.
Luckily, after five years of hard work, the development program, which started in 2011, finally achieved success. China’s first batch(批) of steel wires for making 2.3mm ballpoint pen tips got off the production line of Taiyuan Iron And Steel.
The new product is now being tested at the lab of BEIFA, a large production
group in China. It is expected to replace the foreign ballpoint pen tips in the next two years.

Dear Li Ming,
How’s everything going?I write to you to tell you something. Last week, our school held an invention show. I took part in it with my new invention—a flying bike, which made me win the first prize in the show. The flying bike has two wheels and a pair of wings. You can either ride the bike on the ground or fly it in the air. Besides, you can not only take pictures of the beautiful scener, but also communicate with others when using the flying bike.
The flying bike has its own advantages. Firstly, its high speed can help you reach
the destination efficiently. Secondly, the flying bike uses solar power as energy, which can reduce the air pollution. Therefore, it is environmentally friendly to use the flying bike.
I hope that my invention will be produced and widely used in the future.
Yours sincerely,
Mary。
