Once upon a time, there lived a young man who had a bright mind and an inquisitive nature. His curiosity often led him to ponder on the unknown and explore the unseen.
One night, he heard about a distant city that held a source of power and knowledge. The young man was eager to venture to the city and discover what it had to offer. He thought to himself, “If I could only get to that city, I could gain a wealth of wisdom and untold power.”On the spur of the moment, the young man decided to set out on a journey to the mysterious city.
The young man quickly packed his supplies and set off on his adventure. As he traveled, he heard tales of a great wall that was said to have been built around the city in order to protect it from intruders. Not to be deterred, the young man still kept going in hopes of reaching the city.
Eventually, the young man arrived at the great wall. To his dismay, he found that the wall was too high to scale and too thick to break. He wanted to get inside the city but all of his efforts were in vain.
But then, it dawned on him–just because he couldn't climb over the wall or break through it doesn't mean he couldn't traverse it. With a newfound goal in his heart, the young man started looking for a way to “borrow some light from the other side”.
He walked around the wall until he came to a little, run-down hut. He noticed a small window, barely big enough for a person to squeeze through, but his hunger for knowledge was stronger than ever. He decided to climb into the hut and, through the window, chanced a look into the city.
At first, he could only see shadows and vague outlines of buildings and people. But as he looked a little longer, the young man started to pick out which shapes belonged to which objects. He even noticed an old lamp on a windowsill of one of the buildings.
By carefully gauging the strength and direction of the lamp’s light, the young man was able to “borrow some light”and he used it to trace the route back to his own side of the wall. Then, he hurried back to the wall, climbing through the window and finding a secret passage to the mysterious city. The young man traveled along the passage, discovering secrets and knowledge in the process.
Ultimately, the young man achieved his goal, learning more wisdom and power on
his journey than he could have ever imagined. He eventually left the city, richer with curious knowledge and with a great understanding of what he could achieve when he used his wits and resourcefulness in overcoming obstacles.
Moral of the story: Use your wit and resourcefulness to overcome the obstacles in your way and you will gain greater understanding and success.。
