A large part of China experienced larger amounts of smog than usual and the air was badly polluted. The distance one could see was shorter than 1,000 meters in Beijing, Tianjin, and the
provinces of Hebei, Henan, Shandong and Anhui. In some areas, it was down to 200 meters. People usually set off firecrackers (爆竹) to celebrate the Spring Festival. But because of the smog, this year seemed very quiet. It was really different. A man called Zhang Wei said that his friends and he hadn't set off a single firecracker.

As I held Gladiator, my heart started beating heavily. My mind was flooded with questions:What’s life? Am I really alive? Are you listening to me? Every time I moved my hand down Gladiator’s body,I had a new thought; Each touch sang a different song.

Snake dishes have become popular in recent years. Snake meat is often seen in restaurants. It seems that eating snakes is now in fashion, and if you ( A ) ___________ (not eat) any snakes yet, you’re considered out-of-date. But I wonder whether it is worth following.
Some people think that eating snake meat is good for their health. But these people don’t know that snakes usually eat mice and worms. Therefore, there are many parasites(寄生虫)found inside snakes’ bodies. ( B ) 它们可能对我们的健康有害。

Apart from this, we’re sorry to see that more snakes are being killed by a butcher’s knife. According to the newspaper, Shanghai Star, about 1,000 tons of snakes are eaten by people every year in China. In Shenzhen of Guangdong Province, sometimes as many as 10 tons of snakes are served on dinner tables in a single day. ( C ) If we still turn a blind eye to this, a vicious circle will be created — if more snakes are eaten by people, the number of snakes will drop, and the number of mice will increase, which will result in a decrease in crop output. This will make more people hungry. Who wants to see such a tragedy?

Sharing brings me friendship
Sharing is a beautiful thing in our daily life. Sharing can bring us a lot of things: happiness, sadness and so on. Can you imagine sharing sometimes brings us friendship?
Lingling and I are good friends. We are both in the school orchestra and we both play the violin well. Last year there was a school concert. Our music teacher would choose the best one to play a solo at the end of the concert. Lingling and I both had the chance. But my parents warned me about my schoolwork. If I failed to be chosen to play a solo, I would leave the school orchestra.
I told my problem to Lingling. She said nothing. To my surprise, she refused to play during the final practice. At last, I knew she didn’t want to lose me, her best friend. Our music teacher knew the truth and let us play the violin together at the end of the concert. Of course I didn’t leave the orchestra.
So I think when you have problems, share them with your friends. You will get a surprising result, for example, friendship.。
