As a professional dancer, I have had the privilege of performing on some of the world's most prestigious stages. My name is Jin Xing, and I am from China. I have always been passionate about dance, and it has been my life's work to express myself through movement.
I began my dance training at a young age, and I quickly realized that this was my calling. I trained in a variety of dance styles, including ballet, modern, and traditional Chinese dance. My hard work and dedication paid off, and I was accepted into the prestigious Beijing Dance Academy.
After completing my training, I joined the National Ballet of China, where I quickly became a principal dancer.
I was known for my grace, athleticism, and emotional depth on stage. However, I knew that I wanted to explore other forms of dance and express myself in new ways.
In 1995, I moved to New York City to study contemporary dance at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. This was a transformative experience for me, and it opened up new avenues of expression and creativity. I began to choreograph my own works, and I founded the Jin Xing Dance Theater in Shanghai in 1999.
One of my most memorable performances was at the
Lincoln Center in New York City. I performed a solo piece that I had choreographed myself, and it was a deeply personal expression of my journey as a transgender woman. The audience was moved to tears, and it was a moment that I will never forget.
I am proud to be a dancer, and I believe that dance has the power to transcend language and cultural barriers. It
is a universal language that speaks to the human experience. Through dance, I have been able to express myself in ways that words cannot. It has been a journey of self-discovery and self-expression, and I am grateful for every moment of it.
