My Special Friend。

I have a special friend named John. He is special because he has autism. Autism is a developmental disorder that affects communication and social interaction. John is nonverbal, which means he cannot speak, but he can communicate in other ways.
John and I met when we were in elementary school. At first, I didn't know how to communicate with him because he didn't speak. But I quickly learned that he liked to draw and play with toys. We started playing together during recess and became friends.
As we grew older, I learned more about autism and how it affects people. I also learned how to communicate with John better. He uses a communication device that allows him to select pictures and words to express himself. He also uses gestures and facial expressions to communicate.
Despite his challenges, John is a talented artist. He loves to draw and paint, and his artwork is amazing. He has a unique perspective on the world, and his art reflects that. He also loves music and can play the piano and guitar.
John faces many challenges because of his autism. He struggles with social interactions and can become overwhelmed in new or unfamiliar situations. He also has difficulty with sensory processing, which means he can be sensitive to sounds, lights, and textures.
But despite his challenges, John is a happy and kind person. He has a great sense of humor and loves to make people laugh. He is also very loyal and will always be
there for his friends.
Having a special friend like John has taught me so much about acceptance and understanding. It has also taught me
