1. Articles in my field
Every week in class, one group of students will each introduce one English research paper published in SCI or SSCI journals after 2011 by native English writers. Pick up the article and work out a word file which includes (1) the title, the abstract and the keywords and their Chinese translation, (2) an over 500-word Chinese introduction of the journal, the writer and the article. Every group in class will host one game. The hosting activity, including your introductory presentation and the final handout accounts for 10 points of your final grade. For more details, turn to our text book.

Game 1—The Travel Agency In the 1st week of this game, the leader of the hosting group chairs the conference and every group member makes a brief introduction (with PPT display) to the class of his or her itinerary (touring plan) to a particular continent, region or country. The introduction includes: ★ Where to go and what to see. ★ A day to day plan of the trip. ★ Estimated costs and necessary preparations.
III. Programs out of the English class (2) Concepts on English Learning The first volume of our textbook contains some important concepts on English learning. Students are supposed to thumb through them and remember some basic facts, which will be tested in the quiz as well.
IV. Program for your term papers 1. Generate your own ideas in your research field and write one thesis of your own (in Chinese) before April 30. 2. Ask your supervisor to read your thesis and write down comments on its originality and whether it is qualified to be published. 3. Improve your thesis and submit it for publication. 4. Write your English version based on the Chinese one. 5. Hand in the papers (Chinese version + tutor’s comments, English version) before May 31.
