Diarmuid: Hello and welcome to BBC Olympic English, a beginner’s course in English from the BBC. I’m Diarmuid.

Feifei: And I’m Feifei. 今天我们要学习用英语来谈论未来计划和安排。

Diarmuid: To ask about people’s plans we can ask some questions. For example, are you busy later?

Feifei: Are you busy later? 你过一会儿忙不忙？

Diarmuid: Or we can ask: are you free later?

Feifei: Are you free later? 你过一会儿你有空儿吗？

Diarmuid: That’s right. We can use the words ‘busy’.

Feifei:忙。

Diarmuid: And ‘free’.

Feifei:有空。你还可以加上表示具体时间概念的词语。 Like this:

Diarmuid: Tonight.

Feifei:今晚。

Diarmuid: Tomorrow.

Feifei:明天。

Diarmuid: At the weekend.

Feifei:周末。

Diarmuid: Next week.

Feifei:下周。

Diarmuid: Next month.

Feifei:下个月。

Diarmuid: Ok Feifei, let’s hear some examples now:

Example:

A: Are you busy tonight?

B: No, I’m free this evening.

A: Are you free next week?

B: I’m busy on Wednesday but I’m free all the other days.

Diarmuid: Ok, let’s make another question. Listen to this: what are you doing tomorrow?

Feifei: What are you doing tomorrow? 明天你打算做什么? 我们通常用这个句型来询问对方的计划。 What are you doing tomorrow night, Diarmuid?

Diarmuid: I’m having dinner with friends. What about you? What are you doing tomorrow, Feifei.

Feifei: I’m going to the cinema. 请大家注意，此处我们使用的是现在进行时来表示将来的计划。这是个很有用的句型，就是 to be 加上动词的ing形式。

Diarmuid: What are you doing next week Feifei?

Feifei: I’m doing lots of things next week. I’m visiting friends in London; I’m seeing a play at the theatre; and I’m going to the gym.

Diarmuid: Wow, you’re going to be very busy next week, aren’t you?

Feifei: I certainly am. I won’t be free at all.

drink with you.

doing anything tomorrow?

Li:Shall we go out tomorrow then? Li:那我们一起出去，好吗？

Ron:Why not? Sounds good to me. Ron:当然好。

Dialogue 2 2对话:

Jane:What are you doing this weekend? Jane:你这个周末做什么？

Dong:Nothing much. I’m going to the

cinema on Friday night but that’s all

I have planned. Dong:没什么计划，周五晚上去看电影，此外就不知道了。

Jane:So you’re free on Saturday night? Jane:这么说，你周六晚上有空，对吗？Dong: That’s right. Dong:对。

Jane:Would you like to have dinner with

me?

Jane:你愿意和我一起吃晚饭吗？

Dong:Oh, that would be lovely. Shall we

say seven o’clock?

Dong:太好了，7点钟怎么样？Jane:Perfect. I’ll pick you up then. Jane:很好，那我去开车接你吧。
