【快乐考生】2015届高考英语一轮总复习 Unit 1 Art课时作业新人教版选修6Ⅰ.阅读理解A(2013·辽宁卷)Here is an astonishing and significant fact:Mental work alone can't make us tired. It sounds absurd. But a few years ago, scientists tried to find out how long the human brain could labor without reaching a stage of fatigue(疲劳).To the amazement of these scientists, they discovered that blood passing through the brain, when it is active, shows no fatigue at all!If we took a drop of blood from a day laborer,we would find it full of fatigue toxins(毒素)and fatigue products. But if we took blood from the brain of an Albert Einstein,it would show no fatigue toxins at the end of the day.So far as the brain is concerned,it can work as well and swiftly at the e nd of eight or even twelve hours of effort as at the beginning. The brain is totally tireless. So what makes us tired? Some scientists declare that most of our fatigue comes from our mental and emotional(情感的)attitudes. One of England's most outstanding scientists,J.A.Hadfield,says,“The greater part of the f atigue from which we suffer is of mental origin. In fact, fatigue of purely physical origin is rare.”Dr.Brill,a famous American scientist, goes even further. He declares,“One hundred percent of the fatigue of a sitting worker in good health is due to emotio nal problems.”What kinds of emotions make sitting workers tired?Joy?Satisfaction? No!A feeling of being bored, anger, anxiety, tenseness, worry,a feeling of not being appreciated—those are the emotions that tire sitting workers.Hard work by itself seldom causes fatigue. We get tired because our emotions produce nervousness in the body.[文章大意]本文是一篇说明文。

入舵市安恙阳光实验学校Unit 1 ArtⅠ.阅读理解A[2020·高三六校第一次联考]My family and I never talked about school as the ticket to a future. I was in the classroom, but I wasn't there to learn to write, read or even speak. When it was my turn to read, I wanted to hide. I was 13 years old, but I already hated being who I was.I had an English teacher, Mr. Creech, who knew I couldn't read. In one of my first lessons the teacher said that anyone who had a reading age below six had to stand up. I felt so embarrassed. But at the same time, it made me realize that I needed to change the situation. I was determined it wouldn't happen again. Later that day, Mr. Creech encouraged me and promised he would try his best to help me learn to read. From then on, I never gave up practicing reading. Then when I was 41 years old, one day, I planned to fly back to Texas to visit my friends and family. On my way from the airport, I saw Mr. Creech buying himself a drink. I rushed over and reached into my pocket to pay for him. “Do I know you?” he asked. “Yes, sir, you do know me,” I answered excitedly. “My name is Anthony Hamilton. You taught me English.” The look on his face told me that he remembered the boy he'd once encouraged.“I'm so glad I had a chance to see you,” I said. “And Mr. Creech, I have great news to share.” I told him I had learned to read. But that wasn't all. I had become a published author and an active speaker. “The next time you get another Anthony Hamilton in your classroom, please encourage him to read as well,” I added. The experts say what once worried me has a name: dyslexia(诵读困难). But I can tell you it was a lack of desire for education.1.Why did the author want to hide?A.Because he felt sorry for himself.B.Because he hated being laughed at.C.Because he couldn't read at all.D.Because he didn't have a ticket.2.Which of the following could best describe Mr. Creech?A.Considerate and dutiful.B.Demanding and enthusiastic.C.Emotional and dedicated.D.Friendly and ambitious.3.Why couldn't the author read before meeting Mr. Creech?A.Because his reading age was not long enough.B.Because his parents didn't teach him how to read.C.Because he was afraid of reading before the class.D.Because he didn't have inner driving force to learn to read.4.What can we infer from the passage?A.Mr. Creech taught two students called Anthony Hamilton.B.The author had become a published author and an active speaker.C.Dyslexia was the underlying reason that made the author unable to read.D.The author was grateful to Mr. Creech.B[2020·贵州适应性测试]Almost all calligraphy (书法) lovers agree that writing characters with a brush and ink on straw paper offers a way to communicate with not only history and culture, but also oneself. But now Chinese character handwriting is under threat from computers and mobile phones.A college graduate looking for a job was reportedly turned down by a company because he wrote 24 characters incorrectly in a 400character handwritten resume. A survey by HorizonKey, covering people from 12 major cities in China, found that nearly one third of those interviewed often experience “character amnesia (遗忘)”, with 94 percent saying this is a problem for them. The main reason is that most Chinese rely too much on the pinyinbased Chinese language input method, which is replacing the tradition of writing characters stroke (笔画) by stroke. The software will conveniently choose the right characters according to the context or word frequency, as there are dozens of characters with the same pronunciation in Chinese.Education is another problem. In college, most homework and papers are printed out, instead of handwritten. And few teachers use chalk and blackboards, with Microsoft's PowerPoint the mostoften used software to teach knowledge to students. The number of electronic devices in the classroom is thought to be another reason why students are easily satisfied with just a poor knowledge of the Chinese language and characters. It is quicker to look up a character in an electronic dictionary, but traditional printeddictionaries offer more detailed information on the usage and meaning of the characters. Students pay more attention to remembering a character's pronunciation, but not the other knowledge related to it, which edictionaries rarely provide.Another worry is the “pollution” of Chinese characters by Internet language. Young people regard using Internet language as cool and fashionable. After they learn to use these expressions, they automatically include them in their writing.5.With the example of a college graduate, the author shows ________.A.that practicing can improve writingB.why certain people are poor writersC.that there are differences in students' writingD.why Chinese character handwriting is in great danger6.By saying “... those interviewed often experience ‘character amnesia (遗忘)’”, the writer means those interviewed ________.A.are not good at handwritingB.can't write characters accuratelyC.show no interest in handwritingD.find jobs much more difficultly7.What phenomenon is described in Paragraph 5?A.Dependence on electronic devices.B.Advantages of electronic dictionaries.C.Mastery of knowledge of the characters.D.Disadvantages of published dictionaries.8.What's the writer's attitude towards the Internet language?A.Favorable. B.Uncaring.C.Disapproving. D.Friendly.Ⅱ.完形填空[2020·百所重点中学模拟]I used to watch Gogglebox when Caroline narrated (解说) it, partly because we were great friends, but also because I loved the programme. Emissions rose 5.9 percent in 2010, according to an analysis released on Sunday by the Global Carbon Project.Scientists said the increase was almost certainly the largest absolute jump in any year since the Industrial Revolution. The increase solidified a trend of eve rrising emissions that will make it difficult, if not impossible, to stop severe climate change in coming decades. The burning of coal represented more than half of the growth in emissions, the analysis found. In the United States, emissions dropped by a remarkable 7 percent in the year of 2009, but rose by over 4 percent in 2010, the new analysis shows.“Each year, emissions go up, and there's another year of negotiations, another year of indecision,” said Glen P. Peters, a rese archer at the Center for International Climate and Environmental Research. “There's no evidence that this path we've been following in the last 10 years is going to change.”Scientists say the rapid growth of emissions is warming the Earth and putting human welfare at longterm risk. But their increasingly urgent pleas that society find a way to limit emissions have met sharp political resistance in many countries because doing so would involve higher energy costs. The new figures show a continuation of a trend in which developing countries have surpassed(超过) the wealthy countries in their overall greenhouse emissions. In 2010, the burning of fossil fuels and the production of cement(水泥) sent more than nine billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere, the new analysis found, with 57 percent of that coming from developing countries. On the surface, the figures of recent years suggest that wealthy countries have made headway in stabilizing their emissions. But Dr. Peters pointed out that, in a sense, the rich countries have simply exported some of them. The fast rise in developing countries has been caused to a large extent by the growth of energyintensive manufacturing industries that make goods that rich countries import. “All that has changed is the location in which the emissions arebeing produced,” Dr. Peters said. Many countries, as part of their response to the economic crisis, invested billions in programs designed to make their energy systems greener. While it is possible, the new numbers suggest they have had little effect so far.31.Many governments in the world resist limiting emissions because ________.A.it is not the best way to solve such problemsB.they don't realize the risks of carbon emissionsC.it would probably harm human welfare in the long runD.they are unwilling to accept higher energy costs32.According to Glen P. Peters, we can learn that ________.A.the rapid growth of emissions contributes to potential risks for humans B.rich countries actually take more responsibility for the growth of emissions C.human beings will follow the same path of negotiations in the next 10 years D.some countries negotiate together yearly whether to reduce the amounts of emissions33.Which of the following is TRUE according to the text?A.Emissions in the United States dropped by about 7 percent in 2010.B.Developing countries will produce less emissions with economic development.C.There is a long way to go for many countries to limit the fast growth of emissions.D.Over 50 percent of the growth in emissions resulted from the burning of fossil fuels.34.The text mainly talks about ________.A.an analysis released by the Global Carbon ProjectB.the record jump in carbon dioxide emissionsC.the possible climate change in future decadesD.the main harm of greenhouse gasesⅣ.完成句子35.Many new couples conveyed their strong desire __________________________________ losing their parents in the earthquake. But as you know,my mother is such a good cook.Ⅱ.阅读理解(2015·济宁模拟)Tasha Tudor (August 28,1919—June 18,2008) was an American illustrator(插画家) and writer of children’s books. She received many awards and honors for her contributions to children’s literature. When people talk about her creativity in artwork, she said,“I do it to support my dogs and my four children.” Her great publishing record, the number of magazinestories that have been written about her over the years, and her admirers have no effects on her at all.Mu ch of Tasha’s artwork and her reading are done in the wintertime.“I love winter. It’s delightful,” she says. “I don’t have to go anywhere because I work at home.If I’m snowed in,I can stay this way for months.” She hopes for early, deep snow to protect her garden from the hardship of the New England winter, and when it comes she puts on snowshoes when she needs to get down the mile long dirt path that leads to the road.Given her enjoyment of winter and her fantasy (梦幻) way of life,it’s not surprising that Tasha’s Christmas is a storybook holiday. She hangs flowers over the front door. Her tree comes from the woods, and it goes up on Christmas Eve,lit by homemade candles and decorated with her great-grandmother’s collection that dates from 1850.In a place of honor on the tree are large cookies cut into the shapes of her animals. The grandchildren and friends get presents from Tasha’s old dolls;so do the animals and they have their own Christmas tree. “Of course,it’s a known fact that all the animals talk on Christmas Eve,” she has written. Small, handmade gifts fill a big wooden box.At the end of each year,Tasha can look back and know that her life is perfect, that she has again ignored the twentieth century, and that the magic continues. And for the rest of us,h ere’s a bit of advice,Tasha style:“Nowadays ,people are so restless. If they took some tea and spent more time rocking on the porch (门廊) in the evening listening to light music, they might enjoy life more.”语篇解读本文是一篇记叙文,主要介绍了美国著名插画家以及儿童故事书的作家Tasha Tudor的生活。

I am his wife, and this is his baby.”“I am Abraham Lincoln,” he said.“The President!”I took a quick deep breath with my mouth open, surprised. I had never seen him, but I knew the great love and respect with which the soldier always spoke of him.The stranger shook his head and replied, “No, Abraham Lincoln, George’s old friend.”The baby pushed away from me and reached out his hands to Mr. Lincoln, who took him in his arms. As he did so, an expression of great attention and almost God-given gentleness and love lighted up the sad face. It was a look that I have never seen on any other face. The baby opened his mouth wide and insisted upon giving his father’s friend a kiss.As Mr. Lincoln gave the baby back to me, he said, “Tell your father, the enemy, that I forgive him because of your bright eyes.”1. At that time many artists painted in a very traditional way that involved spending hours in a studio, painstakingly (辛苦地) creating paintings that were extremely detailed. These paintings were sometimes of people or landscapes or historical events. In 1863, EdouardManet exhibited his painting “Dejeuner surl’erbe” at the Salon des Refuses. The painting caused a commotion(骚动), thus starting the Impressionist movement. Although EdouardManet is the declared leader and founder of the group, he was not present at the first group exhibition or any of the other eight collective Impressionist shows. The movement gained more attention in the April of 1874 when Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, and Jean-FrédéricBazille formed Society of Artists, Painters, Sculptors, Engravers and began exhibiting outside of the official salon. The same year, the term Impressionism was invented by criticizing(批评的) journalist Louis Leroy to describe their paintings, who worked for the magazine Le Charivari. The Impressionists often paint out of doors and want to show how light and shadow fall on objects at particular times of the day. Their works are sometimes des cribed as “captured moments” and are characterized by short quick brushstrokes(笔) of colour which, when viewed up close looks quite messy and unreal. If we step back from the Impressionist paintings, the colours are blended together by our eyes and we are able to see the painters’ subjects which often show colourful landscapes, sunlight on water as well as people busy with outdoor activities.5.
