There is an old/popular saying that...(有句古老/流行的谚语说……)。
比如说我在写一篇关于友谊的作文时,我就写“There is an old saying that a friend in need is a friend indeed.”(有句老话叫患难见真情。
)感觉一下就把主题拉出来了,而且特别自然。
还有一种是用当前的现象引入。
比如说现在很多年轻人喜欢宅在家,那写关于户外活动的作文就可以说“In modern society, an increasing number of young people tend to stay at home all day long instead of going out for activities.”(在现代社会,越来越多的年轻人倾向于整天呆在家里而不是出去活动。
其中有一次他用了First of all (首先)/ In addition(此外)/ Last but not least(最后但同样重要的是)这样层层递进的句型。

Should we help others
Better the Social Environment to Allow People to be Good to OthersDuring the past several years, the question of “to help or not to help”has dominated the headlines more than several times since some helpers who help others in need are accused of causing the harm. A recent survey conducted by China Youth Daily indicates that79.1 percent of the respondents say that our current society providesa “bad environment” for good people doing good things. While the more optimistic would argue that each individual should try best to d good things and be nice to other people rather than waiting for the “social environment” to improve. As far as I’m concerned, a sound social environment is a necessity for people to do good things. To put it another way, the present societal situation need to be changed to allow more people to offer help to others. The society ought to support the helpers’ actions, protect them, award them and set them as examples.First of all, as an everybody-familiar saying goes, environment shapes personality. That’s why I think people should be educated to support the helpers’actions. There are so many cases that people refuse to offer a hand to strangers and let them struggle in pain even die when an old man falls down on the ground or a young lady getssunstroke with no consciousness, which has spun a media frenzy frequently. All of these heartbreaking incidents result from some people being blackmailed even put into jail for what they have done ——helping strangers out of trouble, which also tells us people are happy to to offer help to others at the very beginning. Nevertheless, the social environment has changed to be cold-blooded and cruel and people are terrified to offer kindness to other people, which is a shocking truth. Therefore, the society are supposed to advocate citizens to help others, appreciate them, award them and protect them. One of the critical one who should beer the responsibility and endeavor to improve the low system to free people from being afraid of helping strangers and to support the helpers.Secondly, each and every one , as part of the society, should acutely aware that helping others in need is not only a representation of kindness and benevolence, but also a basic and necessary obligation. It is believed that when most of us do the same thing together, with great exertion, we can make a visible difference. Hence, when a majority of us is willing to help people in trouble and that becomes a new normal,a suitable environment allowing and encouraging to be nice to others would be generated. To conclude, it’s necessary to better the societal environment for people to be good to others and that can only be done by the combination of the appreciation and encouragement from society, government’s legislation and each individual’s efforts.。

And my favor goes to the abandoning of previous rigid disciplines.First of all, class rights actually cater to natural physiological needs and basic legal rights of l earners. Students’ drinking water and going to bathroom during class used to be denied due to class disciplines previously adopted. And this practice is against human rights, according to western educators. It can be regarded as an improvement that we have taken care of these basic human needs. Schools and teachers used to stress students’ obligations to observe school regulations, but tendto ignore their class rights. Students, though young in age, are inalienable part of human, it was unreasonable for them to have obligations but no rights. Is it helpful to build an honest and clean government by a fund for incorruptible civil servants? Such an issue has aroused controversy among the public. Proponents believe the innovative move will help to fight against corruption and build a clean government. Opponents say that being clean is an official’s obligation and duty and there is therefore no need to rewardthem with additional funds. Personally, I’d like to e某pressmy disapproval on this question.First of all, to establish an accumulation fund for clean officials is in fact a challenge to social justice. Public servants should work diligently in an honest and clean way and abide by laws and regulations when performing their duties. That is the basic requirement for them. Any official who fails inthis sense does not deserve the position of a public servant. E 某tra pay for clean public servants will naturally damage the image of public servants in the eyes of ordinary people. In addition, it will play a negative role in their professional work ethics. When public servants are rewarded for what they should do, what about clean doctors, teachers, lawyers, policemen? Obviously such a policy is not well-grounded.Relatively speaking, public servants are well paid for their service, so it is not rational to raise such a fund of reward. What we can do is to strengthen supervision mechanisms, so as to effectively track down and punish corrupted officials and let them pay higher costs for their behavior. In addition, to fundamentally minimizing the corruption phenomenon in the government, we should take effective measures to put a limit on their power in an attempt to provide fewer opportunities to abuse power. Is a sound social environment necessary for people to be good to othersHelping others has always been a virtue in traditional Chinese culture, but nowadays many people dare not offer help to those in need, for fear of getting into trouble. 范文Man and Computer
Ever since the birth of it, the computer has largely changed human being’s life and there has been a hot debate about its effects on humans. Undeniably, computers have taken the place of humans in many areas and it seems that computers begin to think like man, but this does not necessarily lead to the danger that man will think like computers. The reasons, in my opinion, are as follows. Firstly, when computers release human from repetitive tasks, humans themselves can spend more time on creative works, such as scientific research, which require imagination and cannot be completed by computers. Meanwhile, thanks to computers, humans get more spare time with their friends and family, which enhances their happiness.
2013年英语专八考试作文真题范文
2013年英语专八考试作文真题范文Is a sound social environment necessary for people to be good to others Helping1 others has always been a virtue2 in traditional Chinese culture, but nowadays many people dare not offer help to those in need, for fear of getting into trouble. The issue has aroused public debate over the climate of morality and credibility, and many people sigh over the moral degeneration. In my opinion, while social environment is necessary for people to be good to others, each individual should try his or her best to do good deeds and be sympathetic with others, instead of waiting for the environment to improve. There is no denying that some tragic3 events turn out to be traps by people with evil intentions, so people are becoming more risk-conscious and are more wary4 of traps and deceits. some people even wonder, ‘Is our society hostile to good people?’ The question may sound ridiculous but manypeople apparently5 think so. They believe that our current society provides a bad environment for good people doing good things, and good people pay a high price for being compassionate6. In fact, such kind of things only accounts for a pretty small percentage, but massive media coverage7 makes the situation seem serious. Actually, most people around me are kind, warm-hearted and helpful, and I am quite delighted in their company. So I believe media should pay more attention to publicizing good people and exemplary deeds to enhance our confidence, rather than exposing disgusting behaviors. At the same time, as John Donne puts it, “No man is an island, entire of itself. Every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.” Since everyone of us is a component8of the society, it is each individual’s conducts that form social morality. Just imagine it is you who need help, what would you feel if everyone watches indifferently or suspiciously? So, put yourself in other’s position and be sympathetic. If we do nothing but wait for the environment to improve, nothing will happen. Only by removing the fence around our kind consciousness can we reverse the regress of social ethics9, and make our world full of warmth and happiness. Therefore, if help is needed, never hesitate to lend a helping hand. It will make you happy and feel better about life.In sum, I contend the idea that while social environment is necessary for people to be good to others, it is each individual’s responsibility to offer help to those in need, and together we build up a more harmonious10 society.。
keep going,keep loving
Keeping Going, Keeping LovingNowadays, it has long been a contentious issue that whether a sound social environment necessary for people to be good to others. Because more negative media exposure is instilled into people’s mind, which enforces them to consider our society as a “bad environment”, thus people avoid passing their love and just wait for the social environment to improve. However, as for me, I do not think so. I firmly hold the view that no matter what our society is like, we ought to keep going, keep loving—try our best to do good things and be nice to others.First of all, it is unshirkable responsibility for people to assist others at the scene of an emergency. Sometimes, although it seems to be negligible. But for those who are in need of help, it is imperative even related to their lives. A good case in point, which caused great sensation throughout society, is the tragedy of little Yueyue. She left the glorious world forever. Just imagine what would be like if those indifferent by standers did not turn blind eyes to her. Of course she would be able to enjoy herself in this world. After this, so many people condemn themselves. We can not deny declining morality. Meanwhile, we can not deny that there are really many people who are eager to be helped in our society. In addition, no doubt that a wholesome society needs effort of every member of it, we have to get aware that the beneficiary is not only one person but also the whole society including ourselves. Taxi driver sent micro-blog to call for all the people to find the wallet’s owner. A student help a heart attacked old lady go to hospital…all of these are the role models of our society. They have appealed to more and more people to do good things to others. At the same time, the morality is being reconstructed.Nobody would like to live in “bad environment”. If everyone waits for it to be improved, it can only be worse and worse. What’more, we have no time to wait, because emergency does not wait, life does not wait. As a matter of fact, what we do can more or less make contribution to the wholesome society. Isn’t it worthwhile to do so?。

2013英语专八作文范文 Is a Sound Social...
Is a Sound Social Environment Necessary for People to Be Good to Others?Recently, it is said in a survey conducted by China Youth that most people hold the opinion that our society doesn’t provide good environment for people to be good to others. On the contrary, some people insist that doing good is just apersonal-choosing issue and has nothing to do with the social environment. In my opinion, a sound social environment is undoubtedly necessary and important. My reasons are as follows,At first, a good social environment can encourage people to do good things without much hesitation. Sometimes, when facing someone who needs help, some people seem to be nonchalant, but in fact, they are just thinking about whether they should take actions or not. A good social environment can let the idea of being ready to help become a common view in the community. Only when people realize that being good to others can’t be too normal and hesitating is just wasting the best time for doing something helpful, can the people in trouble get help without delay.Second, a sound social environment guarantees the rights of people who do good deeds.. As reported in some news, a man went to check one old woman who was hit by a car, but the old woman just claimed that the man was the guilty driver, because the real driver had already escaped. Sadly, good people are trapped. Given this situation, a good social environment is needed to protect the helpers’ rights, or, the weaker feelings of security of people will just weaken their sense of social responsibility.Last but not least, people need a better social environment so that more proper and effective help can be given out. Some good ways for helping such as donation, charity and volunteer work can only be organized by some big and influential social group. People can really do something useful without vainly effort in those ways. And the influence of these social activities will lead people to notice and help those poor people and help build a nice and friendly community. All in all, with the guidance and back support from a good social environment, people are more likely to give help, and then with more problems being solved, a better social environment will come into being. Therefore, in order to have more people be willing to help others, a sound social environment is definitely a good start.。

Thus, every one is well advised to practice this lifestyle and there are several ways for us to do this. Firstly, every one is expected to cultivate their awareness of saving energy. Then, we are also hoped to help our families and friends to live a low-carbon life. Only by doing so can we hope to create a world where all humans enjoy a clean and tidy environment. This means it is high time we did something to bring the situation under control. Many factors are contributing to the deteriorating situation: industrial wastes pumped into the air, the lakes and rivers; aincreasing number of automobiles crowding into the streets; the widespread use of plastic bags etc.To my view, stiffer laws and regulations must be implemented to check pollution. Industries that release wastes without permission should be heavily fined. Cars should be equipped to minimize the exhaust they release into the air. And the use of plastic bags and disposable meal boxes should be banned. What’s more, the media should play an important role in implanting a sense of environmental consciousness into people’s mind.If everybody works toward a common goal of making the environment better, we can create a cleaner and lovelier world for us and for the coming generation.3 世博主题:Better City, Better Life(太长,用时需改短) Nowadays, with the fast development of economy of the world, many cities become bigger and bigger and many modern cities are appearing. Thus, we face the complex problem: Urbanization. Urbanization has been a subject of heated discussion for a long time. Some people are in favor, while others are opposed. In my opinion, urbanization benefits human beings rather than do harm to them. Two reasons may account for my conclusion.Firstly, urbanization enriches our life.We can imagine what will happen without convenient traffic system, without big department stores, without KTVs and many other entertainments? To some extent, it is impossible for human beings to live in this world. Urbanization make it possible for us to enjoy our life more than before, Also, urbanization quicken the pace of science, especially in the communication field, in the early time, if we want to connect with our family members or friends, the only way we can choose is writing letters. But urbanization changed this situation, we can talk with the friends in the foreign countries with our any difficulties through the Internet, we gain whatever information we need on the internet. These conveniences are brought by the urbanization.Secondly, urbanization also raise our country economy. As we all know, the policy of Reform and Opening give our country a golden opportunity to develop our economy, we have a direct feeling about the dramatic increasing of our living standard, many productions that we cannot afford in the past time can be owned in today. This phenomenon proves that urbanization benefits our life basically. With the fast step of urbanization, many job opportunities are supplied in the occupation market which makes many rural migrant workers get a solid work in the urban area. Theyalso contribute to the economic development in the urban area. These prosperities are definitely brought by the urbanization.I live in Shanghai, and it is a typical big city in China. I found that we also have many negative sides of urbanization. For instance, we can talk to the friends thousands miles away, but we don’t know our neighbors in the high-rises; many migrant workers do not enjoy the same profits and rights as the permanent unban residents and this will make their living without and insurance system. But we don’t need to be so pessimistic of the situation at hand. It is evident that the advantages of urbanization outweigh the disadvantages. What we should do is to remain the positive side , meanwhile to conquer the negative side. Our government will also introduce many effective policies to narrow this contradictory. So we have enough reasons to believe the situation will become better and better so that we can reach our aim ”better city, better life ” ! 3. 国学热Sinology2010年6月19日大学英语四六级作文展望2010年6月份四六级考试在即,选择近来较为流行的话题展望四六级作文,以期帮助各位考生更好的准备写作话题和思路。

and we can shift teaching subjects. through putting them to study, young children are occupied with learnging but not with playing. Those who argue for chilldren’s earyly commencement for formal education believe that being put to studies, children can develop good habit of studying, for the process of learning helps develop children’s mental abilities like the ability to memorize, the ability to understand and the ability to do simple calculation. children’s habit of studying and love for learning are of great importance to youngsters because these two things set up the sound foundation for their future studies.Having children start formal education at a very early age benefits young childern much more than simply letting them play most of their time. a good habits needs a long time to develop to become a second nature. more importantly, it is better to develop a good habit before a bad one may grow. similarly, the love for learning should take toots for before the love for playing is established.英语专八考试作文鉴赏篇4Most of us can learn how to do something simple on our own with just a set of instructions. However, to learn about something more complex, it’s always best to have a teacher.Teachers bring with them varied and useful backgrounds. They’ve been trained to teach individuals in different ways depending on their style. For instance, omen students learn better by discussing a topic. Others learn more by writing about it. Teachers can help students learn in the way that’s best of each student. A textbook or a manual can only give you one way of learning something. Plus they’re only as helpful a s your ability to understand them. A good teacher can adapt her teaching to your needs.Teachers help you focus on what you’re learning. If you’re learning something by yourself, it’s easy to become distracted, and go on to other activities. Teachers keep your attention on the subject. They also approach a subject logically, taking it one step at a time. On your own, it’s tempting to skip parts of the learning process you think you don’t need. That can binder your ability to really understand the subject.Learning a subject on your own is a very narrow way of learning. You can only use the information you get from the textbook. With a teacher, you get the information in the writtenmaterials as well as the teacher’s own knowledge of the topic. Teachers can also provide extra materials to broaden the scope of what you’re learning. There’s nothing wrong with studying on your own, and a learner can always benefit from some quiet study. For the best possible learning, though, a good teacher is the biggest help you can have.英语专八考试作文鉴赏篇5Is a sound social environment necessary for people to be good to othersHelping others has always been a virtue in traditional Chinese culture, but nowadays many people dare not offer help to those in need, for fear of getting into trouble. The issue has aroused public debate over the climate of morality and credibility, and many people sigh over the moral degeneration. In my opinion, while social environment is necessary for people to be good to others, each individual should try his or her best to do good deeds and be sympathetic with others, instead of waiting for the environment to improve. There is no denying that some tragic events turn out to be traps by people with evil intentions, so people are becoming more risk-conscious and are more wary of traps and deceits. some people even wonder, ‘Is our society hostile to good people?’ The question may sound ridiculous but many people apparently think so. They believe that our current society provides a bad environment for good people doing good things, and good people pay a high price for being compassionate. In fact, such kind of things only accounts for a pretty small percentage, but massive media coverage makes the situation seem serious. Every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.” Since everyone of us is a component of the society, it is each individual’s conducts that form social morality. Just imagine it is you who need help, what would you feel if everyone watches indifferently or suspiciously? So, put yourself in other’s position and be sympathetic. If we do nothing but wait for the environment to improve, nothing will happen. Only by removing the fence around our kind consciousness can we reverse the regress of social ethics, and make our world full of warmth and happiness. Therefore, if help is needed, never hesitate to lend a helping hand. It will make you happy and feel better about life.In sum, I contend the idea that while social environment is necessary for people to be good to others, it is each individual’s responsibility to offer help to those in need, and together we build up a more harmonious society.英语专八考试作文鉴赏篇6Some time ago, China’s Ministry of Educa tion banned university students from renting private accommodation during their studies. This has given rise to a heated discussion. Some people, especially school management and most parents, embrace such a ban, while others criticize it fiercely. Personally, I am against the ban.First, most college students are adults and should enjoy the right to choose where to live. In banning off-campus housing, the education authorities seem to believe that college students, mostaged 18-22, should be treated as children, rather than adults. Some administrators claim that students lack self-control and cannot make proper decisions for themselves. This is surely not fair treatment for such a bright young generation. If these students didn’t attend colleges, but worked in companies or joined the army, they would be treated as adults.Secondly, private accommodation is indeed preferable to living on campus for many students. It is true that living on campus promotes a sense of belonging by being closely connected with other students. This could truly be a valuable part of the four-year college education. Students living on campus also have easier access to vast school resources, such as libraries, computer rooms and various evening seminars. But crowded dormitories, high noise levels, early electricity curfews and other strict codes also make dorms less attractive. At least dorms are not the right home for everyone. Off-campus housing, meanwhile, offers a greater degree of freedom. That is especially true for self-motivated students, students studying late for important tests or working late on academic projects. Many students living off-campus also share rooms. They have to negotiate contracts, pay utilities and probably cook for themselves. All help prepare students to better manage their study and life. In fact this also conforms to most schools’ creed that students should be in touch with the real world as much as possible. One of the motives for the housing ban is that education authorities hope this will help prevent students from cohabitation and having sex during school years. But since students can now legally marry in schools, why should they be banned from having sex? Reality tells us that this is wishfulthinking. Banning sex among students has been and will be a mission impossible. This is probably why some schools have installed condom vending machines on campus or provide free condoms in school clinics, which tells students to have safe sex, rather than no sex.To sum up, we should treat students as adults instead of children. Though there might be problems in allowing students to leave off campus, we should not give up eating for fear of choking, as the Chinese idiom says. In today’s diversified world, schools should show respect to students in making their own choices. After all, schools are not military barracks and students are not soldiers.英语专八考试作文鉴赏篇7Peoples ideas about donating blood vary from person to person. Some people think that it is glorious to donate blood. They hold this opinion because those who are in urgent need of blood can be saved. However, others hold that it is foolish for people to donate blood. In their opinion, blood is very precious and losing 200ml or more may do harm to their health. As to me, I am in favor of the first idea. The following are the reasons for my choice.First, while it is true that the loss of too much blood is dangerous to ones health,it does not mean that donating a little blood is also harmful. On the contrary, doctors say that donating a little blood can promote metabolism.Second, there are many people who need our help. If my little donation of blood can pull back somebody on the way to death, will there be anything that can make me happier? In a word, donating blood is glorious.英语专八考试作文鉴赏篇8Nowadays, food has bee easier to prepare. Has this changeimproved the way people live? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. The twentieth century has brought with it many advances. With those advances, human lives have changed dramatically. In some ways life is worse, but mostly it is better. Changes in food preparation methods, for example, have improved our lives greatly. The convenience of preparing food today is amazing. Even stoves have gotten too slow for us. Microwave cooking is much easier. We can press a few buttons and a meal is pletely cooked in just a short time. People used to spend hours preparing an oven-cooked meal, and now they can use that time for other, better things. Plus, there are all kinds of portable, prepackaged foods we can buy. Heat them in the office microwave, and lunch at work is quick and easy.Food preparation today allows for more variety. With refrigerators and freezers, we can preserve a lot of different foods in our homes. Since technology makes cooking so much faster, people are willing to make several dishes for even a small meal. Parents are more likely to let children be picky, now that they can easily heat them up some prepackaged macaroni and cheese on the side. Needless to say, adults living in the same house may have very d ifferent eating habits as well. If they don’t want to cook a lot of different dishes, it’s mon now to eat out at restaurants several times a week.Healthful eating is also easier than ever now. When people cook, they use new fat substitutes and cooking sprays to cut fat and calories. This reduces the risk of heart disease and high cholesterol. Additionally, we can buy fruits and vegetable fresh, frozen or canned. They are easy to prepare, so many of us eatmore of those nutritious items daily. A hundred years ago, you couldn’t imagine the process of taking some frozen fruit and ice from the freezer, adding some low-fat yogurt from a plastic cup and some juice from a can in the refrigerator, and whipping up a low-fat smoothie in the blender! Our lifestyle is fast, but people still like good food. What new food preparation technology has given us is more choices. Today, we can prepare food that is more convenient, healthier, and of greater variety than ever before in history.英语专八考试作文鉴赏篇9Nuclear Technology: Benecial or Disastrous? One question that has caused a great deal of controversy over the years is nuclear technology. Although it offers a number of advantages in world peace and green power, it is also a dangerous technology. Nuclear weapons pose the greatest threat to life. Even the use of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes also carries some serious risks. In this essay, however, I intend to show how the benets of such technology counterbalance its disadvantages. The opponents of nuclear power generally base their arguments on the danger it presents to the world. There are two main dangers: the risk of nuclear warfare and the nuclear disasters. The danger of nuclear war is obvious and if one thinks about Chernobyl, it is easy to understand why people are worried about nuclear power, as it can cause major suffering. There are, however, good reasons for believing that nuclear technology is generally advantageous. The first of these is that there has not been a major world conflict since the invention of nuclear weapons. Although nuclear weapons have enlarged the mechanism of war by threatening to kill more people moresecretly and more horribly than those of the past, it is generally agreed that such weapons should be the last thing to be thought of as a means to win a war because there would be no winner in any nuclear conflict. If anything goes wrong, the scale of destruction on human lives and civilization is beyond imagination. The nightmare of Hiroshima is a vivid memory, so nuclear weapons hidden in stock somewhere serve to maintain world peace by theory of counter-attack .The other most significant benefit relates to the environment. Perhaps the greatest danger facing our world today is a combination of global warming and the greenhouse effect. This danger is caused partly by burning fossil fuel, which leads to our polluted atmosphere. Nuclear power, however, is a much greener alternative which does not have such negative effects.Already power plants have been in operation in a number of countries. These are successful examples to be followed. All in all, although it is true that nuclear weapons pose the greatest threat to life, the use of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes is really bene cial. In all appearances, the fear of war is overcome by the need for economic development.英语专八考试作文鉴赏篇10Some people like to eat out at food stands and restaurants, while others like to prepare food at home. Often it depends on the kind of lifestyle people have. Those with very busy jobs outside the house do n’t always have time to cook. They like the convenience of eating out. Overall, though, it is cheaper and healthier to eat at home. While eating in restaurants is fast, the money you spend can add up. When I have dinner at restaurant with a friend, the bill is usually over twenty dollars. I can buy a lot of groceries with that much money. Even lunch at a fast-foodstand usually costs five or six dollars for one person. That’s enough to feed the whole family at home.Eating at home is better for you, too. Meals at restaurants are often high in fat and calories, and they serve big plates of food--much more food than you need to eat at one meal. If you cook food at home, you have more control over the ingredients. You can use margarine instead of butter on your potatoes, or not put so much cheese on top of your pizza. At home, you can control your portion size. You can serve yourself as little as you want. In a restaurant, you may eat a full plate of food "because you paid for it". It’s true that eating out is convenient. You don’t have to shop, or cook, or clean up. But real home cooking doesn’t have to take a lot of time. There are lots of simple meals that don’t take long to make. In fact, they’re faster than eating out, especially if you think of the time you spend driving to a restaurant, parking, waiting for a table, waiting for service, and driving home. Both eating at restaurants and cooking at home can be satisfying. Both can taste good and be enjoyed with family and friends. I prefer cooking at home because of the money and health issues, but people will make the choice that fits their lifestyle best.英语专八考试作文鉴赏篇11In some countries, teenagers have jobs while they are still students. Do you think this is a good idea? Support your opinion by using specific reasons and details. In many countries it is common for teenagers to take part-time jobs while they are still in high school, while in other societies this is virtually unheard of. In the latter situation, students are expected to spend all of their time on their studiesand consider schoolwork their "job". In my opinion, students benefit more from a more balanced lifestyle, which may include working at a part-time job. Therefore, I believe that it is a good idea for students to work while studying. While it is true that a student’s most important goal must be to learn and to do well at his studies, it does not need to be the only goal. In fact, a life which consists of only study is not balanced and may cause the student to miss out on other valuable learning experiences. In addition to bringing more balance to a student’s life, part-time work can broaden his range of experience. He will have the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and will be faced with a wider variety of problems to solve. Furthermore, work helps a student to develop greater independence, and earning his own pocket money can teach him how to handle his finances. Finally, a part-time job can help a student to develop a greater sense of responsibility, both for his own work and for that of the team he works with. For all of these reasons, I firmly believe that most students would benefit from taking a part-time job while they are in high school. Of course, they must be careful not to let it take up too much of their time because study is still their primary responsibility. In sum, living a balanced life is the best way to be successful.英语专八考试作文鉴赏篇12Faced with the question whether it is worthwhile to spend a year or two voluntee ??ring in western China, many college students would probably shake their heads, seeing it as a waste of valuable learning time. However,I will give an affirmative answer without hesitation, because this experience can apparently benefit us in many ways.First, it is a great opportunity for us to apply the knowledge we have acquired at college. Different from temporary part-time jobs, a longer volunteer work experience is truly fulfilling and rewarding. As English majors, we can learn to use and teach the language effectively in real classes; as education majors, we can experiment with those textbook theories in helping manage a school or instruct the younger; those who study engineering can take this chance to turn their ideas and skills into running machines, new bridges and broad roads. From this experience,we will better understand our schoolwork and even build up considerable expertise in our chosen fields.Second, we can gain a great sense of satisfaction by making contributions in an underdeveloped region. Right now,the western China is suffering from both the short ??age of resources and that of talents in its course of development. If we can step into the needed roles by simply sacrificing a year or two,we will be able to make some differ??ence to the situation as a whole. Imagine how proud you will be when telling your fami??ly and friends how you have taught the illiterate to read, and how you have helped to change the look of a backward town. Compared with the great sense of pride you feel,a year‘s time is just a small price to pay.Third,we can establish a deep friendship with local people. On the one hand, if you truly love and help the people you work with, they naturally love and help you back. Take a senior I know for example, who served two months as a teacher in a dry northwestern town. During the period of water shortage, both his students and their parents voluntarily kept water for him, sometimes despite their own need. Recalling his days there, he said they were not easy but he could not help missing them.Probably many volunteers would feel the same as him. While we are giving care, support and help,we often get back more including a lasting friendship. Therefore,I will readily sign up to volunteer in the western China despite various challenges I may meet. Think of the differences we can make there and the changes this experience can make to us, why not walk out of the ivory tower and step onto the promising land of our country?英语专八考试作文鉴赏篇13Although the grand ceremony of Oscar was over this year, the attention and discussion linger in the Chinese movie community and out. Some insiders hold that following global trends is the only way to develop China’s film industry. Others insist, however, that the Oscars are simply one the many awards that Americans like to crown themselves. Domestic films should maintain their distinct flavors. As a movie fan myself, I think we should strive for it to gain international recognition.Firstly, the Oscars Award is an international recognition in terms of both artistic performance and box office revenue. With live broadcast in 50 languages, it plays a huge role in shaping the global film industry. It is no wonder that so many people around the world pay much attention to it. The reality is that Hollywood movies account for more than 90 percent of global market shares-this has inevitable worldwide impact. Obviously, the Oscars Award has become something that we can not afford to ignore it.Moreover, we live in a global, multicultural world where different cultures interact. Chi na’s movie industry needs to realize it and sharpen its competitive edge. If Chinese films are to make a global impact, then movie production, distribution andmarketing organization need improving. Chinese films should adjust to satisfy the variety of social demands. The introduction of foreign successful formulas and technology is a must for Chinese film industry. It is parochial to think that China can only use its national characteristics to define domestic movies. Conservatism will hinder the progress of film industry. If China does not develop its film industry through embracing innovative multiculturalism, Chinese movies will have little opportunity to gain a share in the international market.Last but not least, the Hollywood films also conform to sp ecific cultural demands. Take this year’s Academy Awards as an example, nominated movies include both high-cost productions like The Lord of the Rings and subtle, more moderate budgeted projects like Lost in Translation, these films suggest that Hollywood movies maintain a basic balance in keeping the style of its own and absorbing diverse cultures. Hence, the Chinese filmmakers should spare no efforts to present original domestic films to foreign viewers. We will be left behind if we stick to the so-called orthodox. For instance, Couching Tiger Hidden Dragon was acted by Chinese actors and through cultural icons, but actually its style and structure of the movie all conform to a Hollywood formula. This partly explains why it appeals to a wider range of audiences from different cultural background. In a word, the Oscars are very important to Chinese filmmakers. Nominations are a kind of approval by international peers of their achievements. As China’s market improves, its movie industry will get stronger and will eventually cash in on the Oscars.英语专八考试作文鉴赏篇14Ambition is the decision one makes and the resolution withwhich he carries out that decision. It provides us with the required driving force to accomplish any undertakings in our life. Just as Joseph E pstein, a famous American writer put it,“And as we decide and choose, so are our lives formed.” Indeed, once we make up our minds to choose to do something, then our life becomes meaningful and specifically orientated. This notion of life, as far as I observe, is closest to truth and does apply to almost all aspects of life. First things first, ambition renders us a sense of mission. No matter what decision you make you have to be responsible for your choice. Your choice procures you a sense of orientation, or more specially a sense of mission. And only a strong mission may enable one to accomplish greatness. Caesar of the ancient Roman Empire was urged by his ambition “I came, I saw, I conquered.” And became an unrivaled empire builder in the history of Rome. John Milton, stimulated always by his ambition that aimed at writing some “mighty lines” which England would unwillingly forget, had in due time secured his position as the second Shakespeare in the history of English literature. In the second place, am bition can bring one’s potentials to the full. Ambition may well serve as a catalyst activating one’s dormant potentials. Without ambition one’s potentials will remain slumbering like a dormant volcano.A case in point is Ms Zhang Haidi, a Chinese Helen Keller. It was her ambition to be a useful person has turned the almost paralyzed Zhang Haidi into a well-accomplished figure whose achievements would dwarf those of some normal people aim at the sun, though, at worst, they may probably land on the moon. Influential as it is upon us, however, ambition must be channeled in the right direction. If wrongly directed, one’s ambition may。

Social problems, which become stern rapidly in modern china, have always been existed since the beginning of the society, especially the degenerated morality. Of course the society we are living in is not sound enough to ensure that everybody is voluntary to do good deeds, but a sound social environment is not the indispensable element that decides one’s behavior, for men’s subjective initiatives and their own thoughts to change the social environment.
First of all, the level of morality of one person is not decided by the level of the social morality, on the contrary, the social morality is decided by human beings’, high moral standards people making a highly moralized society, low moral standards a low moral society. Therefore we can say that being good to others and having high moral standards is necessary to make a sound society.
We are human beings, the unique creature that have thoughts. When facing some decisions hard to make, we will have our own thoughts and judgements, influenced but not decided by the environment. Therefore, though there are many evil or immoral events in a bad social environment, people still can make their own choice, after all, most people can distinguish the good from the evil. For some kind of reasons, they may choose the wrong side, while there are still people will do the right thing, that’s the “positive power”. Those people have their own judgements about wrong and right. How badly the morality of the society degenerate, there are always some people will keep themselves and do the right thing. To some extent, it justifies the statement that a sound social environment is not necessary for people to be good.
We are not living in an isolated society and can never be exempt from troubles, and we need help. However, it seems that in china, many people would like to be by-standers, for fear of being involved into troubles for some immoral people who will take advantage of their kindness to seek benefits. Nevertheless, if some people could overcome their skepticism to the society and do what they think right, the social morality will ascend gradually because of the inspiration of good models.
