The Key to Success
The Key to SuccessIt is facile to find some characteristics in renowned people who succeed in certain field, such as striving, innovation, courage, perseverance,curiosity and so on. But it strikes me that diligence may be the key to success.Diligence is the secret of success. It means that success involves persistent work but does not imply that we are to exert ourselves around the clock without rest, food and sleep. The true essence of diligence is the proper use of time for the purpose of success, or to work persistently without any waste of time.Some people have faith in luck. This is a grave mistake. If there is really any luck at all, it would never come to a lazy man. If a farmer plows his field one day and takes a rest the whole season, the best of luck would not bring him anything. There would be no harvest for him at all.Those are clever who have a good awareness of the significance of diligence and settle into hardworking, and it is they who are on the right way to success. Some people think that luck is more decisive in bringing about success and therefore there is no need for working hard. But they fail to realize that diligence is the mother of success and only diligence will bring them luck.It needs many keys to open the door of success, which is not an easy job for us. However, if we live with good characteristics and habits, we will get closer to success.。

The key to success 演讲稿
Good morning, everyone. My name is Chen Yaqin, I’m from Ping Shan primary school. It’s my great honor to stand here to share my ideas of the key to success. But do you know what the success is?Actually, it is what everyone longing for. However, there are various opinions among people as to the success. For the students, getting a high grade is success; for the actors, being famous is success; for the citizens, especially in Shenzhen, owing a house is success. But for me, helping the students to be happy and healthy is success.As we all know, to be successful is not very easy. I want share two interesting stories with you. In the Ancient Greek, there was a famous philosopher, named Socrates. He asked his students to wave their arms as straitstraight as they can. The first day, all of them did a good job. After a month, there was still 90% students raised their arms. A month later, 80%. After a year, there was only one person hold that. He is Plato, another famous philosopher in Ancient Greek.Another story is about Ma Yun, the founder of Alibaba. There is no doubt that he is a successful man. But he never goes to a key school even if he was eager to. He failed to pass the college entrance examination for three times. After he graduated, many companies still refused him as to his performance. While, he never gives up, he said ,“To have a dream is necessary, what if the dream came true?”In 2014, he became the richest man in Chinese China.As to the two stories. From the two stories we mentioned above, it is easily to get a conclusion that there is no key to success. If it had to be, it should be the persistence and hard working. Just as Edison said, genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. So never give up, and then you will be successful one day!Thanks for your listening!。
Perseverance The Key to Success
Perseverance The Key to Success Perseverance is the key to success. This phrase has been repeated time and time again, but what does it really mean? To me, perseverance means never giving up, even when the going gets tough. It means having the determination and drive to push through obstacles and challenges, and to keep working towards your goals, no matter how difficult they may seem. One of the most important aspects of perseverance is having a positive attitude. When faced with setbacks or failures, it can be easy to become discouraged and give up. However, those who persevere are able to maintain a positive outlook, even in the face of adversity. They see setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow, and they use these experiences to become stronger and more resilient. Another key component of perseverance is resilience. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from setbacks and to keep moving forward, even when things seem impossible. It is the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and to find new ways to achieve your goals. Those who are resilient are able to overcome obstacles and challenges, and to keep working towards their dreams, no matter what. Perseverance is also about having a clear vision of what you want to achieve. Without a clear vision, it can be difficult to stay motivated and focused. Those who persevere have a strong sense of purpose and direction, and they know exactly what they want to achieve. This clarity of vision helps to keep them on track, even when they encounter obstacles or distractions along the way. In addition to having a clear vision, perseverance also requires discipline and hard work. Those who persevere are willing to put in the time and effort necessary to achieve their goals, even when it means sacrificing other things in their lives. They are willing to make short-term sacrifices for long-term gains, and they understand that success is not something that comes easily or overnight. Finally, perseverance requires a strong support system. No one can achieve success on their own, and those who persevere understand the importance of surrounding themselves with people who believe in them and support their goals. This support can come from family, friends, mentors, or colleagues, and it can be a crucial factor in helping to maintain motivation and momentum. In conclusion, perseverance is the key to success. It requires a positive attitude, resilience, a clear vision, discipline and hard work, and a strong support system. Those whopersevere are able to overcome obstacles and challenges, and to keep working towards their goals, no matter how difficult they may seem. So if you want to achieve success in your own life, remember to never give up, and to always keep pushing forward, no matter what.。
The Key to Success 成功的关键 TED演讲
The Key to SuccessWhen I was 27 years old, I left a very commanding job, a managing consulting, for a job that was even more demanding, teaching.I went to teach seventh graders math in the New York City Public Schools. And like any teacher, I made quizzes and tests, I gave out homework assignments. When the work came back, I calculated rates.What strike me was that, IQ was not the only difference between my best and my worst students. Some of my strongest performers did not have IQ scores. Some of my smartest kids weren’t doing so well. And that got me thinking. The Kinds of things that you need to learn in seventh grade math sure they’re hard. But these concepts are not impossible, and I was firmly convinced that every one of my students could learn material if they worked long and hard enough.After several more years of teaching, I came to the conclusion that what we need in education is a much better understanding in students and learning from a motivational perspective, from a psychological perspective.In education, the one thing we know how to measure best is IQ. But what if doing well in school and in life depend on much more that your ability to learn quickly and easily. So I left the classroom and went to a graduate school to become a psychologist. I started studying kids and adults in all kinds of super challenging settings. And in every study my question was who’s successful here and why. My research team and I went to West Point military catemy. We try to predict which cadets would stay in the military training, which would drop out. We went to the national spelling bee, we tried to predict which children would advance far this in the competition. We studied rocky teachers working in really tough neighborhoods, asking which teacher are still going to be there in teaching by the end of the school year, and of those, who would be the most effective at improving learning outcomes for their students. We partnered with private companies, asking which of these sales people are going to keep their jobs and who’s going to earn the most money. In all those very different contexts, one characteristic emerged as a significant predictor of success, and it wasn’t socialintelligence, it wasn’t good looks, physical health and it wasn’t IQ. It was grit.Grit is passion and for very long-term goals. Grit is having . Grit is sticking with your future, day in, day out, not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years, and working really hard to make that future a reality. Grit is living a life like it’s a marathon, not a .A few years ago, I started studying grit in Chicago public schools. I asked thousands of high school juniors to take great questionnaires, and then waited around over a year to see who would graduate. Turns out that, grittier kids are significantly more likely to graduate, even when I matched them on every characteristic I could measure. Things like family income, standardized achievement tests scores even how save kids felt when they were at school. So it’s not that West Point or the national Spelling Bee that grit matters, it’s also in school, especially for kids at rates of dropping out. To me the most shocking thing about grit is that how little we know, how little science knows about building it. Every day parents and teachers asked me how do I build grit kids? What do I do to teach kid a solid work? How do I keep them motivated on the long run? The honest answer is, I don’t know. What I do know is that talent doesn’t make you gritty, our data show very clearly that there are many talented individuals who simply do not follow through on their commitments. In fact, in our data, girt is usually unrelated or even inversely related to measures of talent. So far the best answer of building grit in kids is something called growth mindset. This is an idea developed at Stanford University by, and it is the belief that the ability to learn is not fixed, that it can change with your effort. Doctor shows that when kids read and learned about the brain and how it changes and grows in response to challenge, they’re much likely to persevere when they fail. Because they don’t believe failure is a permanent condition. So growth mind sit is a great idea for building grit, but we need more and that’s why I’m going to end my remarks, because that’s where we are and that’s the world that stands before us. We need to take our best ideas, our strongest intuitions and we need to test them, we need to measure whether we have been successful and we have to be willing to fail, to be wrong, to start over again with the lessons learnt. In other words we need to be gritty ingetting our kids grittier.。

The Key to Success
The Key to SuccessEveryone all wants to succeed in their various fields. However, it’s not a simple thing to achieve success. Thomas Edison said, “If you wish to success, you should use persistence as your good friend, experience as your reference, prudence as your brother and hope as your sentry,” which means that the key to success is persistence, experience, prudence and hope.Firstly, persistence in your is the first step on the road to success. Pursue you object, be it what it will, steadily and indefatigably. You will not see the result either good or not if you give up doing something halfway. LiuXiang was able to win the world championship of long distance race only because he had received many years of hard training. So his success owe to persistence. Secondly, it is essential that experience guide us smoothly to do something as a reference. Experience is not what happens to a man; it is what a man does with what happens to him. For our contemporary college students constantly looking for a job or change jobs again and again, from a other point of view, it’s not a bad thing, from this process maybe we can accumulate many experiences to improve us do better and better in the later work. Thirdly, “Think twice before acting”, before making a courageous decision, careful consideration is absolutely necessary, especially business is a matter of large amount of assets, corporate reputation. Last but not the least, If we are full of hope and bright, we will do more interesting and believe we will be towards the goal of success.Success provides the only pleasure in life. Only those who have the persistence, experience, prudence and hope to do simple things perfectly ever acquire the skill to do different things easily. Where there is a will, there is a way.。

水滴石穿. Perseverance. A Tiny drop of water every day penetrates the stone.
你很可能会下定更多英语学习之外的决 心: 每天早晨6:30起床; 每天睁开眼睛,跟自己说:"What a lovely day today!" 每天晨读10分钟励志美文;
每天在草地上静坐欣赏一下校园美景, 然后闭上眼睛Daydream 5分钟,想象 自己未来成功时的形象; 每天吃早饭; 每天上午第一个到教室,帮老师擦一下 黑板,然后洗个手; 每天上课至少积极回答老师问题一次;
你很可能会: 下定决心要练就一口流利的口语; 下定决心要继续中学时候学的新概念, 熟读或背诵新概念第三册和第四册; 下定决心每天听写VOA一段;
The Key to Success
The Key to SuccessOnce there wasan extremely poor young man, who dreamed to be an actor in the 1970s, when there were 500 movie companies in total inHollywood.Motivated by his dream,he decided to visit all the companies one by one with his tailor-made screenplay. Unluckily, he failed at the first time. Not a company would like to hire him.They all laughed at his screenplay and amused him that he was not an actor material. In the face of relentless rejection, he didn't lose heart. He soon began the second round of visit to sell himself out which unfortunately also ended in failure.The third time is still the same. You could imagine how depressed he was, but the young man didn't give up, though he failed so many times.He soon began his fourth visit whicha boss finallypromised to take a look at his screenplay when he visited the 350th film company in his fifth visit.A few days later, he received the notice thatinvited him to discuss the details. In the negotiations, the company decided to invest in the film and hired the young man as the actor in the movie written by himself. Soon the movie came out and became world famous. It was named Rocky. The young man is Stallone, a notedHollywood starnow. He becomes a success after he failed 1850 times. When asked why he can achieve so much in his life time. He simply replied “dream”.As you read these accounts of Stallone, consider the obstacles he met. The lesson of the story, I suppose, is that instead of making dozen excuses why you cannotrealize your dreams, think about this story, just hold to your dream and never give up for dream is the key to success.。
THE KEY TO SUCCEED
THE KEY TO SUCCEEDEvery body wants to succeed. But when it comes to the question that which factor leads to success, ideal, opportunity or hard-working. However, different people will offer different answers.Firstly, we should have ideals .We should make sure that what we want .Leo Tolstory said that “Ideal is the beacon. Without ideal, there is no secure direction; without direction, there is no life.”An ideal is a vital importance to one’s growth and success. Because of having an ideal, we know where to go and which way to take, so that there will be many goals in our life .Only when we have our own ideals, can we find the origin of energy and enthusiasm in life ,and become active and perseverant.Secondly, the opportunities also matters. As a proverb saying, “Man proposes, god disposes”. Because almost all successful people have good luck and have caught their valuable opportunities, they believe that opportunity is a leading condition of the success. If seizes and makes the best use of opportunity available, one can succeed surely. In summary, to them, chances and lucks play the most important role on the road to success.But only having dreams and opportunities is not just enough. No pains, no gains. .Without exerting oneself, one could never expect to achieve success in no matter what one is doing. As is known to all,there is no royal road to the summit of success. One is likely to succeed only when one has worked with whole-hearted devotion and perseverance. Those who are lazy, sloppy and indifferent to their work, those who never concentrate on work will definitely end in failure. On the whole, as far as they are concerned, hard-working is the decisive factor to success.I think all of them is important to success. They are inseparable from each other, and put together, they make a great success.。

The key to success? GritWhen I was 27 years old, I left a very demanding job in management consulting for a job that was even more demanding: teaching. I went to teach seventh graders math in the New York City public schools. And like any teacher, I made quizzes and tests. I gave out homework assignments. And when the work came back, I calculated grades.What struck me was that IQ was not the only difference between my best and my worst studen, stu, students. Some of my strongest performance, performers did not have stratospheric IQ scores. Some of my smartest kids weren't doing so well.And that got me thinking. The kinds of things you need to learn in seventh grade math, sure, they're hard: ratios, decimals, the area of a parallelogram. And, and, but these concepts are not impossible, but I was firmly convinced that every one of my students could learn the material if they worked hard and long enough.After several more years of teaching, I came to the conclusion that what we need in education is a much better understanding of students and learning from a motivational perspective, from a psychological perspective. In education, the one thing we know how to measure best is IQ. But what if doing well in school and in life depends on much more than your ability to learn quickly and easily?So I left the classroom, and I went to graduate school to become a psychologist. I started studying kids and adults in all kinds of super challenging settings, and in every study my question was, who is successful here and why? My research team and I went to West Point Military Academy. We tried to predict which cadets would stay in military training and which would drop out. We also went to the National Spelling Bee and tried to predict which children would advance farthest in competition. We studied rookie teachers working in really tough neighbourhoods, asking which teachers are still going to be here in teaching by the end of the school year, and of those, who will be the most effective at improving learning outcomes for their students? We also partnered with private companies, asking, which of these salespeople is going to keep their jobs? And who's going to earn the most money? In all those very different contexts, one characteristic emerged as a significant predictor of success. And it wasn't social intelligence. It wasn't good looks, it wasn't physical health, and it wa, it wasn’t IQ. It was grit.Grit is passion and perseverance for very long-term goals. Grit is having stamina. Grit is sticking with your future, day in, day out, not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years, and working really hard to make that a future, that future becomes a reality. Grit is living life like it's a marathon, not a sprint.A few years ago,I started studying grit in a Chicago public schools. I asked thousands of high school juniors to take grit questionnaires, and then waited around more than a year to see who would graduate. Turns out that grittier kids were significantly more likely to graduate, even when I matched them on every characteristic I could measure, things like family income, standardised achievement test scores, even how safe kids felt when they were at school. So it's not just at West Point or the National Spelling Bee that grit matters. It's also in school, especially for kids at risk for dropping out. To me, the most shocking thing about grit is how little we know, how little science knows, about building it. Every day, parents and teachers ask me, "How do I build grit in kids? What do I do to teach kids a solid work ethic? How do I keep them motivated for the long run?" The honest answer is, I don't know. What I do know is that talent doesn't make you gritty. Our data show very clearly that there are many talented individuals who simply do not followthrough their com, through, who simply do not follow through on their commitments. In fact, in our data, grit is usually unrelated or even inversely related to measures of talent.So far, the best idea I've heard about building grit in kids is something called "growth mindset." This is an idea developed at, developed at Stanford University by Carol Dweck, and it is the belief that the ability to learn is not fixed, that it can change with your effort. Dr. Dweck has shown that when kids read and learn about the brain and how it changes and grows in response to challenge, they're much more likely to persevere when they fail, because they don't believe that failure is a perman, is a permanent condition.So growth mindset is a great idea for building grit. But we need more. And that's where I'm going to end my remarks, because that's where we are. That's the work that stands before us. We need to take our best ideas, our strongest intuitions, and we need to test them. We need to measure whether we've been successful, and we have to be willing to fail, to be wrong, and to start over again with lessons learned.In other words, we need to be gritty about getting our kids grittier.Thank you.。
