If you are really interested in music festivals, then you have probably heard of the Bestival Music Festival. It takes place every September on the Isle of Wight, the UK. As it is at the end of summer, people think it’s their last chance to go to a festival and have fun before going back to boring work.
The dream begins as soon as you start traveling to the island. In order to get to the campsite (营地) of the Bestival, you have to take the ferry (渡轮). The ferry is full of happy
festival lovers who are ready to take part in the fantastic music party. After you arrive at the campsite, you can put your tent up. There people talk with each other openly. They are not that cold like those you meet in your everyday life.
The festival lasts for four days. During that time you forget all your worries and problems, just like living in a dream. And it is really hard for you to come back to “reality” after that.
It seems that it is this kind of music event that makes people gather together. It gives people a real sense of unity.

Liang Xiyan still misses her long black hair, which was cut two weeks ago.
Liang became a senior high school student in September. In her new school, the rules say that boys’ hairstyles must be cropped (剪短) and girls’ hair cannot fall below their shoulders.
Liang’s school is not alone: many have si milar rules on hairstyles. Teachers think a cool hairstyle is a waste of time and money. It may also distract students from their studies. “Your personality is not shown in how you wear your hair but
in your ability,” say teachers.
It’s difficult for students to follow these rules. Teenage students like to look nice but they are asked to wear school uniforms. Liang says the only way in which they can be different lies in how they wear their hair. And they want to copy their favorite stars’ hairstyles. They wouldn’t be happy in a school with strict rules.
“I prefer a school with rules on hairstyles,” said Li Man, a Senior 1 student. She said her school’s rules on hairstyles are OK but there could be some little changes. “For example, boys should be allow ed to have their hair a little longer,” Li said. “But students must not dye or curl their hair (染发或烫发). This way there will not be so many complaints.”

B. must not have a cool hairstyle
C. should wear the same shoes to school
D. can show they are different by wearing their favorite clothes

Some people have to use public transport, some dislike it and still some love it. If everyone has a car and drives anywhere they want to go, there will be serious traffic problems on the road. Luckily, trains are a good form of public transport.
British people use trains a lot. This is especially so for people who are travelling from London to Paris. Every day about 20 trains leave London. They travel at a very high speed and people feel glad that the trains take only 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach Paris. It's much faster to travel by
train than by bus or by car. This is because people have to drive cars or buses very carefully and lowly for many reasons, such as speed limits and traffic jams. However, when you are travelling by train, the speed is almost the same and there is no traffic jam for a train.
Besides, Londoners think taking a train is one of the safest ways of travelling on the ground. Trains take quite a number of quality tests while they are made. More importantly, they have to take many safety checks before they are used on the rail track.
What's more, trains in Britain are comfortable and provide fine services for their users. When you are on a London train, you will find that the train has comfortable tables and seats where people can sit. They also provide food services and power plugs(电源插头) for personal computers or mobile phone.
( )12. The main idea of the passage is that ________.
