Lucy is a little girl. She loves all animals—from rabbits and tortoises to parrots and squirrels. Last summer, her parents sent her to live with her grandparents in the countryside.
Life in the countryside was peaceful. However, one day after lunch, Lucy shouted loudly from the kitchen. Her grandma hurried into the kitchen. She thought there must be an accident. But Lucy was not injured at all. Instead, the little girl was standing on top of the dining table. She looked scared, pointing to a broom in the corner.
“What is it?” asked Grandma.
“A mouse!” cried Lucy.
“Is it huge?”
“No, ” said the little girl. ”It is just a small mouse. ”
Grandma smiled to herself. Soon, Lucy couldn’t help but join in. As Grandma brought her granddaughter down from the table, she asked, “Why do you fear mice so much? Don’t you like all animals?’
“I just can’t help it. Each time I see mice I want to shout. I don’t like the way they look, ” Lucy answered.

Do you often search for (搜寻) Wi-Fi when you are at restaurants or hotels? The answers will probably be “Yes”. Most of us want Wi-Fi everywhere as if we can’t live without it. But we can only use free Wi-Fi in some public places. We still have to spend some money accessing (使用) the Internet most of the time. Here comes a piece of good news,
A rich, large company in the USA—Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF) will give free Wi-Fi to every person on the Earth. They will send up hundreds of satellites into low Earth orbit (轨道) .
This is because they find that only 60% of the world’s population (人口) can get information on the Internet. And this is also because many countries are unable to offer people the necessary infrastructure to access the Internet.
We hope to use free Wi-Fi everywhere in the near future.
