In our meditation(冥想)group on Monday mo rn ing, one of the ladies asked if the group leader could take u s through m editation to ease worrie s.
Later that day, I thought that I would reach out to her j ust to let her know that I was there for her. I must admit all sorts of reasons why I shoul dn't reach 01;1t came to mind, but I allowed myself to get rid of my weakness and sent an email anyway.

In the end, I invited her to an online group where we could meet every Sunday just to connect and chat. She promised to join us. I knew that she was glad that 1 had reached out.
Afterwards, 1 realized that I did have a new friend. When 1 learned about her difficult life, 1 offered to help her get through difficulty. When I had problems, she was always there. What a real lucky thing is to step into someone else's life situation and come together with them on their journey. I always think it is the most pleasant thing in the world! I'm so thankful to have had a new friend today!

One million species face extinction, more than ever before in human history, a c cord i n g to a UN report released in May. And humans should be responsible.
The researchers based the assessment(评估)on some 15,000 sources consider in g the c auses and results of envjronmental changes over the past 50 years.
The findings are clear and alarming. The researchers have found that abou t 25 perc ent of the world's plants and animals are at risk of extinction. These include sea and lan d ani mals. Even the domesticated(驯养的)animals are at ris k: Over 9 percent of the d omestic ated 画mal species used for food and agriculture might have been lost.
There are some big problems. This rapid decrease of the natural world endan gers global food safety and quality of life. For example, about 4 billion people rely on natural medic ines, produced by the disappearing species, for their health care.
The researchers identified five drivers responsible for the bad news. They thin k at the top of the list is the change of land and sea use. The change in ecosystems toward s agricult ure, aquaculture and other human developments has led to changes in the natural living spac e of species. It is followed by the direct overuse of creatures (harvesting crops, cuttin g down the trees, hunting and fishing) and climate change, inclu小ng rising sea levels a n d increas ing extreme-weathe r events, wildfires, floods and droughts. The final causes of specie s extinct ion are pollution, especially plastics, and the spread of non-native species that can k ill native plants and animals.
