You, teenagers, spend nearly half of your working hours at home. Studying in correct ways is important. So, what are the best ways to study at home? Here are some of the best ideas for healthy study habits.
Create an area for studying
Where you study is important. It should be quiet, with good light to read by. You need enough room to spread out your books and notes. A table or de sk works well, which should be comfortable. But it mustn’t be too comfortable. Do not study on your bed, for example. You might fall asleep!
Cut out the noise
Some people study better in silence. Others like to have a little noise, like soft music playing. Go with whatever helps you focus.
Cut out the distractions
Give yourself a break from social media. Put your phone away. And turn off the television. All these things pull you away from what you are trying to learn. Tell the people you live with that you are studying and need time alone to work.
Take breaks
Treat yourself after reading something, working through a math problem, or completing some other task you set
out to do. Get up, step away from your work and move your body. Go outside for a few minutes and get some fresh air.
Eat so-called “brain foods” that are good for you
Foods like nuts, seeds, yogurt, berries and fish help your mind stay strong. Sugar may be attractive—especially chocolate, a favorite of this writer, but too much sugar will give yo u an energy “crash’. And, don’t forget to drink plenty of water.
One more thing, when you study, think good thoughts! Avoid bad thoughts like, “I’ll never be ready for this test.” Instead, tell yourself what you can do: “I can understand and remember this material!”
27. According to the passage, the distractions refer to ________.
A. chocolate
B. breaks
C. social media
D. soft music
28. The writer probably agrees that ________.
A. comfortable environment is not good for studying
B. teens should study in a big room with a table or desk
C. having a rest after you recite a passage is a good study habit
D. teens should open the window to get fresh air when they study
29. What can we learn from the passage?
A.Teens should believe in themselves when they study.
B. Sugar is the most popular among teenagers.
C. Parents need to go out for a walk when their kids study.
D. Television should be turned off because it is useless for teens. D There are many words to describe the red panda. This animal is cute, fuzzy, reddish, and small. Sadly, the word
endangered also describes the red panda. That’s because people are destroying its habitat. If people continue to do this, there will be no more red pandas left in the world.
People cut down the trees that red pandas live in. Red pandas live in the forests of the Himalayas, a mountain range that goes through Nepal, China, and India. About half of the red pandas in the world live there. When people cut down the trees, they destroy the red panda’s habitat. Red pandas spend most o f their lives in trees, so they are basically homeless when their forests get cut down. Without their homes, the pandas are not safe from animals that can hurt them.
There is another reason that deforestation, or cutting down trees hurts red pandas. It tak es away the animals’ food sources. Red pandas eat bamboo, a grass that grows in their habitat. They also eat fruit, roots, acorns, and eggs. When deforestation happens, the entire habitat is ruined and the red pandas don’t know where to find food. People have also endangered red pandas by taking them out of their habitat to use their fur for clothing and to sell them as pets.
With all of these problems, it’s no wonder that there are fewer red pandas in the world. So how can people help them? Some zoo keepers are helping to solve this problem by bringing red pandas to zoos and clinics. The zookeepers take care of the red pandas and hope that baby red pandas will be born. Then the zookeepers send the babies back into the wild.
There is also a group called the Red Panda Network. It is a group of people who guard the forests in Nepal and the red pandas that live in them. They watch the forests every day. They hope that in the future, people will stop destroying the red panda’s habitat and that the animal will no longer be endangered.
30. The word “deforestation” in paragraph 3 probably means _______.
A. the fact of losing food sources
B. the act of cutting down trees
C. the group who hurt red pandas
D. the habitat where red pandas live
31. What can you learn from the passage?
A. About half of the red pandas in the world live in China.
B. The zoo keepers keep the endangered red pandas as their pets.
C. More and more people use the red pandas’ fur for clothing.
D. People’s actions are causing red pandas to be endange red.
32. What is the writer’s main purpose in writing this passage?
A. To introduce what the red pandas are like and where they live.
B. To tell why the red pandas are endangered and how people help them.
C. To introduce what the red pandas like to eat and how they get food.
D. To tell what the Red Panda Network is and why its members live in forests.
33. What would be the best title for the passage?
A. Endangered! The Red Panda
B. The Red Panda Network
C. Cute! The Red Panda
D. The Red Panda Habitat

A table or desk works well, which should be com fortable.
All these things pull
you away from what you are trying to learn. Tell the people you live with that you are studying and need time alone to work.
Take breaks
Treat yourself after reading something, working through a math problem, or completing some other task you set out to do. Get up, step away from your work and move your body. Go outside for a few minutes and get some fresh air.
Eat so-ca lled “brain foods” that are good for you
Foods like nuts, seeds, yogurt, berries and fish help your mind stay strong. Sugar may be attractive—especially chocolate, a favorite of this writer, but too much sugar will give you an energy “crash’. And, don’t fo rget to drink plenty of water.
One more thing, when you study, think good thoughts! Avoid bad thoughts like, “I’ll never be ready for this test.” Instead, tell yourself what you can do: “I can understand and remember this material!”
