Having a Five-Day Vacation Next Week
Oh my god, I can't believe we're getting a whole five-day vacation next week! When I heard the announcement from the principal, I literally jumped for joy. A nice long break from the daily grind of classes, homework, and extracurriculars is exactly what I need right now. This semester has been so crazy busy that I feel like I'm going a bit stir-crazy. Five glorious days off to recharge my batteries and just relax sounds like a dream come true.
The first thing I'm going to do when vacation starts is sleep in until at least noon every single day. I haven't had a chance to really sleep late in forever, since I have zero period AP Calculus at 7am. My body desperately needs to catch up on sleep after getting by on 5-6 hours a night for too long. I'll stay up binging shows, movies, YouTube, you name it, without having to set an alarm. Pure bliss!
Once I've gotten my fill of sleep, I'm going to meal prep a ton of my favorite homemade meals to indulge in over the break. I'm talking stacks of french toast drowning in syrup, loaded nachos with all the toppings, juicy bacon cheeseburgers, pasta bakes, the works. All the amazing yet wildly unhealthy foods my parents hardly ever let me eat. For these five days, I'm throwing any semblance of a balanced diet out the window and just fully embracing junk food heaven.
Speaking of embracing unhealthy habits, you can bet

Five Whole Days Off? You Can Bet I'm Stoked!
Yo, what's up everybody? It's your boy Max here, coming at you with the 411 on the upcoming 5-day vacay we've got headed our way next week. I'm sure y'all are just as hyped as I am about this extended break from the daily grind of school, homework, projects, and all that jazz.
Don't get me wrong, I love learning and all, but sometimes you just need a breather, you know what I'm saying? A chance to recharge those batteries, sleep in a little (or a lot, let's be real), and do things simply because you want to, not because they're
on the agenda. That's where this glorious 5-day weekend comes in clutch.
So what exactly does one do with all that free time, you ask? Well, let me lay it out for you. First thing's first, I'm sleeping until at least noon every single day. Momma didn't raise no fool - I know how to take advantage of not having to be up at that ungodly hour for school. Catch me living that vampire lifestyle, fam.
Once I've gotten my full 12-15 hours of beauty rest (hey, I'm a growing boy), it'll be time to dig into some much-needed video game therapy. I've been jonesing to grind out some new levels on Eldrin Scrolls 6 for a minute now. With all this free time, I can finally stop hearing "One more minute until bedtime!" on repeat. It's game on from dusk till dawn, baby!
Speaking of games, you already know I've got to get my basketball fix in too. The crew and I will be holding it down at the park, catching bodies and bricking shots left and right. Somewhere between half-court heaves and accessibility fool's mate, I'm sure we'll find time to roast each other's jumpers and dishonest moms too. Ah, the bonds of brotherhood!
Now you're probably wondering where I'll find time to be even more of a degenerate teen than usual with all this gaming
and hooping. Well, I've got two words for you: Netflix. Binges. That's right, I'll be smashing entire seasons of shows without even having to guiltily check the clock every hour. Want to watch 10 straight episodes ofOvání 99 while housing a few family-sized bags of Hot Cheetos? You already know the vibes.
Oh, but don't think I'll just be a completely unproductive blob for 5 whole days. I'm still trying to get that bread too, you feel me? Thanks to modern technology, I can hitemup on the ol' rideshare apps and make some cedar driving for a few hours here and there. Supplement that income, invest early andoften, am I right fellas?
Of course, I've got to balance all this relaxation and money-making with a little bit of excitement too. Maybe I'll rally the troops for an impromptu road trip to the beach or nearby hiking trails. Secrets smore supplies, crank up the tunes, and vibe out under the stars. With no parents or teachers cramping our style, who knows what shenanigans we'll get into?
Honestly though, as pumped as I am for this extended vacay from the classroom, I know I'll probably spend at least a day or two being a straight-up zombie. I'm talking waking up at 3pm, absentmindedly watching Youtube vloggers until my eyes glaze
over, then being awake until 6am for no reason whatsoever. Ah, is there anything more quintessentially teenage than that?
At the end of the day though, that's what breaks like this are all about - having the freedom to fully embrace our sloth-like tendencies without external pressures or expectations. To make bad decisions and dope memories in equal measure. Maybe I'll even find time to actually be productive and pretend I have my life together!
But let's be real here - that's probably just wishful thinking. I'll be too busy going sicko mode and storing up regrets to actually use all this free time responsibly. And you know what? Iouldn't have it any other way.
So bring on the weeklong debauchery, fam! Just don't be surprised if you see me wandering around like a zombie come next Tuesday, chugging a Red Bull and pretending I didn't just waste the past 5 days. Hey, that's just how us young'ns do it. I'll sleep when I'm dead...or at least when school starts back up again. #Productivity

Next Week There Is a 5-Day Holiday
Oh my god, I can't believe next week is a 5-day holiday! I've been counting down the days ever since they announced it last month. Five blissful days off from school with no homework, no tests, no getting up early - just pure freedom and relaxation. I can finally catch up on sleep, spend time with friends, and do all the fun things I never have time for during the school week. This holiday is going to be epic!
The first thing I'm going to do on my holiday is absolutely nothing for the first day or two. I'm serious - no plans at all. I'm just going to laze around the house in my pajamas, play video games, watch movies, and veg out. Maybe I'll do a Minecraft marathon or binge-watch that new show everyone has been talking about. I need some serious downtime after the stress of midterms.
Once I've had my fill of slothfulness, I'm hoping to make plans with my friends. We've been tossing around ideas like going to the outdoor waterpark if the weather is nice, or maybe catching a movie and going bowling. Jacob also mentioned maybe camping if his older brother is willing to drive us somewhere cool. Getting out in nature for a night away from our phones and just hanging out around the campfire sounds awesome.
If we do outdoor activities during the day, at night we'll probably just keep it lowkey - order pizzas, hang out at someone's house playing games, watching dumb videos online, and laughing our heads off at silly inside jokes. Those kinds of nights where you stay up way too late but don't even care because you're making memories with your best buds are the best. I live for those ridiculous, silly, silly times.
Alternatively, if it ends up raining during the holiday, we could have an epic gamers' binge. We'd all pack our consoles and gear and converge at one person's house. Then we'd set up multiple TV's and systems and have tournaments going across different games while eating junk food and slurping down endless drinks and snacks. A total veg-fest getting surprisingly competitive over video games - that's my ideal rainy day.
While I definitely want to focus on relaxation, I should probably also spend a bit of the holiday being productive. Maybe I'll finally get started on that personal programming project I've been thinking about or do some writing for my novel idea. I've also got a huge backlog of books I tell myself I'll read "next holiday" so perhaps I could actually make a dent in that pile. And I'm a little behind on some school work too, so I could use a few hours getting ahead on assignments to make my life
easier later. As long as it's balanced with plenty of leisure time though!
To be honest, I'm most excited about the freedom to set my own schedule and do whatever I want, whenever I want. No morning alarms, no having to hurry off to class or activities, no nagging parents or teachers. Just pure unstructured free time to fill as I please. Maybe I'll sleep until noon one day just because I can. Or maybe I'll get up at the crack of dawn to watch the sunrise and seize the day. Who knows? The possibilities are endless and that open-endedness is a luxury I rarely get to experience.
I also can't wait for all the little holiday treats and traditions. Like staying up late with no bedtime, eating junk food and leftovers for meals, watching cheesy holiday movies and specials, and just generally throwing my usual routine out the window for a few days. Holidays always seem to revolve around favorite little rituals and this one will be no exception. I'm sure there will be plenty of extravagant Swedish pancake breakfasts in my future. Yum!
Overall, this 5-day holiday is going to be like a mini-lifetime packed into one week. I'll get a sampler platter of all my favorite things - lazy days lounging around, fun adventures with friends,
much-needed relaxation and rejuvenation, productivity and personal projects, beloved holiday traditions, and wondrous unscheduled free time. Part of me can't wait for the holiday to start immediately. But another part of me wants to savor every last second of the anticipation and excitement first. After all, that buildup is half the fun!
When the holiday is finally over, I'll be refreshed,
re-energized, and ready to take on the final stretch of the school year with a positive attitude. But for now, I'm just going to keep dreaming about all the awesome things that could happen over those 5 glorious, homework-free days. In the wise words of Ferris Bueller, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." I don't plan on missing a single moment of this holiday. It's going to be one to remember。
