When you see the trailer(预告片for Coming Home, Zhang Yimou ' s latest project, you may not be attracted by it at first, due to the film ' s senior cast and historic setting
But rest assured, Comi ng Home will draw you in with its emoti on ally charged story of love, joy and sorrow.
The movie follows a devoted couple, Lu Yan shi (Che n Daoming and Feng Wanyu (Gong Li, who are separated whe n Lu is arrested as a political pris on er. Released duri ng the last days of the —cultural revoluti on -716, (1966ally returns home on ly to find that his beloved wife has amn esia
and is un able to recog nize him. As a stra nger in his broke n family, Lu decides to resurrect their past together and reawaken his wife ' . s memory
Just like the story suggests, Coming Home is a tearjerker. But differe nt from those movies that make the audienee cry by being evocative(唤起共鸣的,such as Feng Xiaogang ' Aftershock or Pixar 'Toy Story 3, director Zhang ' idea of moving the audience is quite special, and makes the most of his delicate skills.
In Coming Home, Zhang deals with a dramatic story in such a quiet way that the audience ' s emotions are drawn out little by little by the main characters, as they struggle in pain while their heroic inner stre ngth shin es.
So, when you cry —and very likely you will —you will understand why: Because you wish a future happ in ess for the characters, and maybe because you can imag ine the story havi ng happe ned to your gran dpare nts.
Another impressive aspect is how Zhang uses —amnesia a n arrative technique that ' more com mon in roma ntic comedies. For that, he has Gong Li to tha nk the most. Gong, one of Zhang ' s Iongtime collaborators, knows exactly what the director wants. With a limited number of lines throughout the film, Gong is fully committed to her character and touches the audience with great facial expressi ons and subtle cha nges of emotio n.
Maybe now you un dersta nd why every one can relate to the film. Although it reflects on a big era(时代through the story of a small family, the era is only a backdrop. What moves the young audience here is love, and you will leave the cinema with a new understanding of it.
Tell us what you think about Zhang Yimou ' s new film Coming Home.

A. Gong Li is good at body Ian guage
B. Feng directs films the same way as Zha ng
C. the ages of the actors in the film counts most

66. Every one can relate to the film because ____ .
A. the director casts the actors that are popular with us all
B. it in terprets the theme of love that is shared by all
C. the ——cultural revolution II has left deep scars on us all

An Israeli surge on ' dexterity(精湛的技术treat ing the largest and most serious wounds has brought him to Sichua n prov ince aga in and aga in, he tells Liu Zhihua.
Moris Topaz, head of the plastic surgery unit of the well-known Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera, Israel, fin ally had a good sleep on the flight from New York to China recen tly. The 63-year- old usually sl eeps only three hours a day but that ' s eno ugh, he says, to give him ple nty of en ergy for
his work.
On this, his most recent trip to China, he was part of a delegati on led by Ronni Gamzu, directorgen eral of Israel 'Ministry of Health, which aimed to strengthen the cooperation of health communities in the two countries.
While —cooperati on II may sound vague to outsiders, Sichua n reside nt Gong Fan gxue has a very
clear idea what that word means to ordinary people.
If not for TopCloser, a gro un dbreak ing method for clos ing large wounds that Topaz applied in her operatio n, Gong probably would have died from a huge fatal tumor.
—It was a unique case over a very big tumor. Usually with these kinds of tumors, we have to do complicated surgeries with skin grafts or fla ps, II Topaz says.
—This time, we actually stretched the skin in a way we hadn ' t done before. II
Gong, 40, found a sudde nly fast-grow ing bump on her right shoulder in 2009. The reside nt of Deya ng was diag no sed with a fatal spin dle cell tumor.
Although it didn t spread to other parts of the body, the cancerous bump grew very fast.
Over the next two years, Gong un derwe nt several removal surgeries, but the con diti on always recurred shortly after the treatme nts, and the tumor grew bigger and bigger.
Late last year, Gong came to the People ' s Hospital of Deyang City, after
many other hospitals, in cludi ng big ones in Beiji ng, refused to treat her . By that
time, the tumor had become half as big as Gong ' s head, making her head lean
toward the left . It had become difficult for her to move her n eck . Worse, the tumor
stretched the skin so far that at any time, the blood vessels could be broke n, pote ntially leadi ng to massive bleedi ng
Removi ng the tumor was urge nt but un avoidable major bleedi ng and n erve damage
could cause death . An operati on wound so large would take a long time to heal with traditi onal woun d-closure methods, such as skin flaps, but Gong n eeded quick heali ng so she could have radiotherapy as soon as possible and preve nt a relapse .
Luckily, the hospital had established a relati on ship with Topaz, who has
superb experie nee and skills to treat such complicated con diti ons, Fan adds .
On Dec 13, 2013, Topaz operated on Gong with physicia ns from the hospital. I n
a four-hour operation, they removed the tumor tissues carefully, and used the TopClosure system to conn ect the two edges of exist ing skin with a special plastic thread, elim in ati ng the n eed for skin-impla nt recon struct ion.
The sec ond day after the operati on, Gong felt her pain eas ing. Withi n two weeks, the wound healed, and she was able to have radiotherapy. Now regular checkups in dicate she is recoveri ng from the can cer.
It was the first time in the world that such a large wound was healed without skin flaps and implants, according to Li Yongzhong, director of the hospital ' s
burns and pl astic surgery departme nt.
But that ' s just a sample of what Topaz has done to strengthen medical cooperati on betwee n China and Israel.
67. What probably enables Moris Topaz to sleep so little and still keep en ergetic?
A. His excelle nt skill in treatme nt.
B. His an xiety about the hospital.
C. His edge in age.
D. His devoti on to his work.
68. All the follow ing con tribute to the successful surgery on Gong Fan gxue
except _____ .
A. the medical method of TopCloser
B. the diag no sis of the disease in 2009
C. the superb experie nee and skills of Topaz
D. the cooperati on betwee n the Israeli and Chin ese doctors
69. I n the 4 th paragraph from the bottom, the un derl ined word elim in at ing
probably means _____ .
A. remov ing
B. produci ng
C. realiz ing
D. ig noring
70. What is the paragraph to be continued probably about?
A. Topaz ' s voluntary work in China.
B. Topaz ' s further study on medicine.

Pare nts all around the world want the best for their childre n, especially whe n it comes to education. Today we will talk about a program that educates children with an intern atio nal focus.
World econo mies are beco ming more and more in terc onn ected. And people are moving around the world in search of personal and professional opportunities. With this global way of liv ing beco ming more com mon, an intern ati onal approach to educati on seems like a good one. The goal of the Intern ati onal Baccalaureate Orga ni zati on is to create —Stude nts of the World. II
The Intern ati onal Baccalaureate Orga ni zati on was foun ded in 1968 in Gen eva, Switzerland. The IB organization works with schools in 147 countries to offer programs for stude nts 3 to 19 years old. These programs, it says, —help to develop the in tellectual
pers on al, emotio nal and social skills to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizi ng world. II
The orga ni zati on says that IB programs are in n early 3,800 schools worldwide. The majority of these schools offer IB diploma programs. High school students have to complete six courses, pass exams and write a 20-page paper to earn an IB diploma. And schools accepted into the IB program are expected to

Students are given opportunities to attend events that open their eyes to a larger world. There are IB workshops and conferen ces held all over the world.
One such eve nt was a five-day conference at the Uni versity of British Columbia in
Can ada. The conference was about ——The New Sustai nability: Maki ng Thi ngs Better, Not
Just Less Bad. Thlfee hun dred stude nts from 13 coun ties atte nded.
One of the speakers was Drew Deutsch, director of IB Americas. He says the conference was meant for students not only to learn about the environment, but also to become more intern atio nal in their thi nki ng
and develop lasti ng relati on ships.
DREW DEUTSCH:" We want to send the students back to their schools to highlight issues surrounding protecting the environment, but also make sure that these students become more students of the world, and that they form bonds with peers their own age from around the world. And, obviously, with social networking and the tools that are available to students today, we expect that they will have formed these bonds really for life. ”
Seventeen-year-old Itzel Chavez was one of 21 IB students who received scholarships to attend the conference.
ITZEL CHAVEZ: “ I really wanted to go. So I applied for a scholarship and I hadto write an essay. And in my school they chose one person, and I got chosen for the scholarship. So I got to go. ”She says the main speakers would describe a sustainability program or tell how a special project improved the environment in their community. Then the students had to choose a project to present to the conference.
ITZEL CHAVEZ: “ We would get into groups of about nineteen or twenty students and we would have to come up with a project for the end of the week that showed what we learned. ”
