Sowing the seeds, nurturing growth and harvesting the rewards Based on my experience, I think it right that a student’s success is like the pattern of farming. Like farming, to achieve success in university study, you should sow the seeds, nurture growth and in the end you will harvest the rewards.
I am a senior student now, having experienced many ups and downs and successes and failures. I have obtained so many certificates and credits. I have passed all the courses, though with two make-up examinations. These are the harvests which I am very proud of. Recalling my university experience, I feel that it’s because of my diligence and perspirations that I get all these harvests, which actually follows the pattern of sowing the seeds, nurturing growth and harvesting the rewards.
When I was admitted into the university, I harbored the belief that I should succeed in getting the diploma and attaining the major knowledge needed to live a decent and even glorious life. The belief is so firm that I never give up, no matter what difficulties and obstacles I encounter, which is like sowing the seeds. Belief is one thing but success is another. Belief is the seed, but success is the reward or harvest. Belief can’t assure you success. You have to act, that is you should work hard in
order to achieve success, which is like the process of “nurturing growth”. For example, my process of obtaining the certificate of TEM8 fully proves this. First, I held the belief and made up my mind to get it, which is sowing the seeds. Then I worked hard and made good preparations for it, which is like nurturing growth. At last I succeeded in getting it, which is the harvest or reward. If I hadn’t clung to the belief and worked hard, I would never have got the certificate.
In a word, I think a student’s success in university follows the pattern of sowing the seeds, nurturing growth and harvesting the rewards. Sowing the seeds stands for your belief, ambition or goal; nurturing growth stands for working hard and perspirations; harvesting the rewards stands for success, including your good achievements, diploma and certificates.。
