Compliment to the King of Grass Script
The King of Grass Script, with his brush strokes as sinuous as serpents and his ink dancing like thunder and lightning, is hailed by all as the master of grass script in the generation of Wang Xizhi. His style is robust and majestic, resembling the setting sun over a long river or the eastward flowing great river. Noble and royal families vie to collect
his works, considering them treasured gems. His fame is sung from mouth to mouth, never ceasing, and he is hailed as the "King of Grass Script."
Wang Xizhi's grass script is not ordinary; it is a marvel that blooms with a single brushstroke, unparalleled in the江湖. His brushwork is agile and ever-changing, like the clouds swirling of a dragon or the phoenix dancing among the nine heavens. Onlookers cannot help but marvel at it, calling it a divine pen. Wang Xizhi's grass script is as if the ducks know the spring river is warming first, or as if the grass is growing and the swallows are flying in February.
