Television can make you hungry!
Watching TV can be hungry work, especially nowadays when there are more and more programmes about food: cooking competitions, cake baking shows . The choice is huge!
In the UK, “The Great British Bake Off”is a television competition where people bake cakes every week. If your cake isn’t good enough you will leave the show! The people who win the competition are famous all over the country.
“Bake Off” is one of the most popular shows on television at the moment, and at least twenty other countries around the world now show similar programmes.
It’s no surprise that we all love to watch people make cakes. The question is: Do we love to spend time in the kitchen ourselves? It seems that although more and more people watch television shows about cooking, fewer people cook or bake on a daily basis. Most British people buy their meals and cakes ready-made from the supermarket. Perhaps they are too busy watching television to spend time cooking.
