The simple past tense

※ The concepts:
We use the present perfect tense to talk about a past experience which has a connection to the present.
For example, I have lived here for 10 years.（I lived here ten years ago, and I still live here now.） She has just had her lunch. (She had lunch at a certain time in the past, and she is full now.） They have been friends since 2006. (They became friends in 2006, and they are still friends now.)

※ The time expressions
If the sentence has a certain time till now, such as ever, before, never, yet, recently, already, lately ,since + a time point, for + a time period and so on, we usually use the present perfect tense.
However, we use the simple past tense to talk about a completed action in the past.
For example, I lived here ten years ago. （I don’t live here now.） She had her lunch two hours ago. (We don’t know if she is full now.） They were good friends in 2006. (We don’t know if they are still friends now.)
