Step 1:Presentation
Ask, Do you often do some reading in your free time? What classic books have you already read? What do you think of them?
Ask about the four Chinese classic books and then the books from western countries-- Alice in Wonderland, Little Women, Treasure Island, Oliver Twist, Robinson Crusoe &Tom Sawyer
Step 2: Oral p ractice
Ask, Have you read …yet ?
Help Ss to answer “Yes, I have. I have already read it./ No, I haven’t. I haven’t read it yet.”
Ask again, What’s it like? / What do you think of it?
Step 3:Listening
1.Call Ss’ attention to the chart in 1b. Play the recording twice for Ss to listen and complete it.
2.Have Ss look at the chart and practice conversations in pairs.
3.Get Ss read the names of the books in2a and the statements in 2b. Play the recording twice. Ss listen and finish the listening exercises. Play it again and check the answers.
4.Present the paragraph with blanks and get Ss to fill in the blanks using the information in 2a&2b.
