At the start of nearly every doctor's visit, chances are that you will be asked to get your weight measured for that day's exam record - and you would be hard-pressed to find a person whose physician has not brought up his or her weight at some point, and doctors' recommendations to drop pounds are still extremely common. But many conversations around weight have become a barrier, not a help, in the campaign to make people healthier.
Higher body masses are associated with increased risk for hypertension, diabetes and coronary disease. Many studies have shown that heavier people are at higher risk for these illnesses. But the big picture is not the whole picture. Researchers have identified a smaller group of overweight people considered to be ''metabolically (新陈代谢地) healthy'' - meaning they do not exhibit high blood pressure or other diseases.
Research over the past two decades has shown that health professionals have negative attitudes toward fat people. Some refuse to see these patients at all, as the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported in 2011. Such practices keep people from regular annual exams and prevent the finding of serious underlying conditions. Not only that but doctors' appointments with fat patients are shorter on average, and they routinely use negative words in their medical histories of such people. And research suggests that the stress of being a heavy person may cause metabolic changes that may lead to more poor health outcomes.
To achieve better health outcomes, doctors should focus on behaviors that have proven positive outcomes for health instead of the weight-centric health care practice. And people of all sizes are entitled to evidence-based factors that empower them and keep them healthy. Lifestyle changes, such as eating fruits, vegetables and whole grains, along with increased physical activity, can improve blood pressure, levels and sensitivity - often independently of changes in body weight.

It’s hard to imagine life without smartphones or mobile devices. But it wasn’t until 3G that smartphones began to influence and change our life. Since then, faster network speeds have been contributing to the creation and widespread use of cloud technology enabling ride-sharing apps,HD entertainment, and video calls. While 3G and 4G powered these services, 5G represents another connectivity jump beginning this year.
5G is known for last speeds low latency—the time between data request and its delivery, and more capacity—the amount that the data can be contained, setting the stage for immediate improvements to existing
experiences as well as the development of new, yet-to-be-imagined technological advancements. .
From day 1, 5G is designed to make everything faster, providing fiber-like speeds to support great demand for unlimited data. You should notice improved download speeds, superior quality video streaming and virtually instant cloud access as 5G is launched in 2019. And it should be easier than ever to download your favorite series at the airport or deliver massive files to colleagues when you’re on the go. What’s more,5G is designed to deliver entirely new real-time experiences we’ve never had before.
One good thing about 5 G and edge computing is extended reality, which could transform your experience from passive watching to living the moment. The other good thing is AR shopping, which can make the shopping experience more fun,an experience that can allow you to see how a sofa will fit in your home,a
try-it-before-you-buy-it type of experience.
2020 has been declared the year in which 5G will become commercially possible Global carriers have started 5G speed trials. Developed cities will be the first to experience 5G,as rural areas currently lack the infrastructure (基础设施) to support the network. In order to continue to advance technologically,we will need a stronger network. The future of innovation (创新) depends on the successful implementation (实现) of 5G—and when we get there,it will truly revolutionize the world.

Have you ever read a food blog? If your answer is no, here is one for you. is an online journal that was started a few years ago. Basically, the blog records the author’s experiences of eating strange foods around the world, and his observations of how different cultures feel about food. So far, the author has tried snakes, scorpions, spiders and nighthawks. Just as the author says, “What is weird(奇异的)to one might be normal to another.”
Many of the things on the author's weird-meat list might sound horrible to us. For example, ostriches are cute birds, but people in Iran make big ostrich sandwiches, supposed to be the world’s largest sandwich. If you are tired of eating meat, you can try “lemongrass giant crickets(蟋蟀)with Thai spices”. They go well with salads. If you enjoy the crispy texture of the crickets, you might want to eat several. How about some “turtle shell jello”? You might have heard of it though you've never had a chance to try any, “Gui Lin Gao” (turtle jelly) is Chinese. It’s a popular dessert in summer and usually served cold. It tastes like Coca Cola, and it is also said that the mixture is good for the skin. And in Bangkok, the author has tried all kinds of insects, including white ant eggs. A soup is cooked with ant eggs, larvae, and baby ants, and you may find that the ants’ little black eyeballs are staring at you while you eat the soup. “Awesome” is the word the author uses to describe the flavor. He couldn’t wait to have another bowl.

Do the British really get together every afternoon at 4 p.m. to sit and drink several cups of tea? Ask any of my German students and they will tell you “YES!”
I’m sorry to disappoint, but it’s simply not true. We drink over 150 million cups of tea a day in Britain, but there is no special time for the nation’s favorite drink. British people will drink tea all day whether morning, noon or night (my mother makes her first cup at 6 a.m.). There are reasons for the confusion surrounding “teatime”, however.
“Tea” is widely used as a name for the evening meal. This is more common in Scotland and the north of England but you can hear it all over the country. Usually it is the main meal of the day, eaten between 5 p.m. and 7
p.m. So, “teatime” refers to the meal and not the drink. In the south, the evening meal is often called dinner, while dinner in the north is the midday meal. Confused? Many heated debates can happen between southerners and northerners about the right name.
What about tea breaks? Surely this must be a special time for tea? Wrong again, I’m afraid. Tea breaks are simply an opportunity to have a rest from work for around 10 minutes. During this time you can drink whatever you like. Also a small snack, like biscuits, is usually eaten. The best time for a tea break is mid-morning around 11 a.m. or mid-afternoon around 3 p.m.
But what about tea rooms? Can I drink tea there? Yes! A tea room is the perfect place to go with friends and family to enjoy tea, cakes, and sandwiches. This is known as afternoon tea and is usually served during special activities such as a birthday or engagement (订婚) party. Tea rooms are also very popular with tourists and are definitely worth a visit.
Teatime, tea breaks, afternoon tea... how could you possibly get muddled up (混淆)?

MCDONALD’S, one of the world’s largest restaurant chains, recently made a big decision. On March 9, the company announced that its chicken suppliers in the US would stop using human antibiotics within two years.
Antibiotics are medicines that attack harmful bacteria1 to help cure illnesses. Many cattle, pig and chicken producers give their livestock2 antibiotics to help them stay healthy. Feeding antibiotics to animals is legal in the US. But the producers feed their livestock not only animal antibiotics, but also those used by humans. Experts say it can lead to public health problems. Overuse of these human antibiotics could cause germs3 to become resistant4 to drugs. When the drugs are used to treat humans, they may no longer be effective.
Many US fast food restaurants already say they serve chicken which are raised without antibiotics, but the decision by McDonald’s is important because of its size. The company has over 30,000 stores around the world, including 14,000 in the US.
In recent years, customers have started to care more about food ingredients5. If they feel certain foods are made with ingredients that are of low quality or don’t meet certain levels of quality, they’ll choose other higher quality foods.
After seeing customer visits to US stores drop two years in a row, McDonald’s says more changes to their food could be on the way.
However, McDonald’s won’t be applying the new antibiotics policy to its Chinese stores soon.
The company said it’s not a double standard but they have to take Chinese food safety standards into consideration.
“The measures will be carried out gradually, based on the actual situation of Chinese agriculture,” McDonald’s China said in a statement.
