一、九年级中考英语阅读理解(人生百味)(含答案详细解析)
1.阅读理解
As a young woman, my mother worked in the kitchen of a large farm owned by Fanny Cratty. She was hardworking and had a special skill in making delicious strawberry jam.
Aunt Fanny was single and had no children. She didn't like to share love with others. I thought she was very lonely, although she didn't mind it. She had a workshop where my mother helped her make the best strawberry jam, and everyone in our town bought it. But aunt Fanny asked my mother not to tell the recipe(秘方) of making the strawberry jam to others.
When the strawberries were ripe,my family would pick them together. We talked and laughed, experiencing the fun of picking strawberries. But aunt Fanny never joined us. She just asked us to pick strawberries quickly and make more strawberry jam to make more money for her. Each person in our town said that she just paid attention to money rather than anything else. What a poor woman! It's no use having too much money because she had no family and friends to share her happiness during her lifetime.
Maybe it was the recipe that brought success to aunt Fanny. But to me, it was just a common recipe. Money can make you feel rich for a while, but it is the beautiful days spent with family and friends that truly make you rich.

Friendship can help you stick to your aims and make you more successful, according to an article in Times.
Carlin Flora, the writer, who has studied friendship for years, finds that if you really want to change something in your life, you can develop friendship with people who have the same aims as you do.
Friends can help make your own will stronger. Following good examples can help you get rid of bad behaviors and form new, healthier ones. For example, after a busy and tiring day, you probably want to go home and watch TV. However, your friend knocks on your door and asks you to go jogging with him. After jogging, you talk over coffee together. This is much better than just sitting in the room watching TV.
Flora also points out that it's best to stop bad habits by turning attention to different, good ones. Instead of staying at home alone and spending hours in front of your computer, building up friendship with those who have the values and habits you admire will lift you up more easily.

He then let them sit and boil, without saying a word to his daughter.
After twenty minutes he turned off the burners. He took the potatoes out of the pot and placed them in a bowl. He pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. He then ladled the coffee out and placed it in a cup. Turning to her, he asked. “Daughter, what do you see?”
“Potatoes, eggs, and coffee,” she hastily replied.
“Look closer,” he said. She did and noticed that potatoes were soft. After pulling off the shell of the egg, she found the hard-boiled egg. Finally, the rich aroma from the coffee brought a smile to her face.

Every kid wishes to be an adult. Do you remember playing house as a child — pretending(假装)to be a grown-up like your parents? Did you imagine you were a doctor, a soldier or a teacher? At that time, anything seemed more exciting than being young.
But now as grown-ups, some adults find they cannot leave childhood behind. They become “kidults”. Being a kidult has become a lifestyle choice among young people across Asia.
Some kidults collect toys they once played with. Hello Kitty, Garfield, and Snoopy have many adult fans around the world. It is not unusual to see a 20-something woman with a big, Garfield-shaped cushion on her sofa or a Hello Kitty mobile phone accessory(配件、附件).
Other kidults still enjoy children's stories and fairy tales. For example, the British publisher Bloomsbury even released an edition(发布一个版本) of the Harry Potter novels with an adult cover. That way, no one else on the subway will know that an adult is actually reading a children's book.
“Kidults can b e like vitamins to society. Adults who love their childhood most and hold on to pure, child-like emotion may be needed in such a rough and dry society,” said Lee So-jung, a professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
He added that kidult culture may fill the generation gap between adults and kids. It could give children and their parents books, movies, and cartoon shows to enjoy together.
Tim Greenhalgh, an adviser in London explained that some kidults just refuse to grow up. They hold on to childhood because working life in a busy and stressful city frightens them. Kidults would like to forget their age and openly show their fear of society and adulthood.
“So, they can escape from increasingly busy and stressful lives that are hard to deal with,” Greenhalgh said.
(1)Why does a kid wish to be an adult?
A. Because he wants to be independent(独立).
B. Because he doesn't want to be controlled by adults.

A. Some kidults refuse to grow up.
B. Some kidults in Britain like reading on the subway.
C. Some kidults think childhood is the best time of their life.
D. Some kidults want to escape from the busy and stressful life
(3)One of the advantages of the kidult culture is that ______.
A. it can make adults face the real social life
B. it can make our society young and full of life
C. it can increase the sales of children's books
D. it can lead to harmonious(和谐的)relationship between adults and kids

Parents can be very important teachers in our lives. However, they are not always the best teachers. Parents may be too close to their children emotionally(情感上). Sometimes they can only see their children through the eyes of a protector. For example, a teacher might see a trip to a big city as a valuable experience. If they love science, they may try to force(强迫) their child to love science, too. But what if their child's true love is art writing, or car repair?

My taxi driver stopped his car at once. The tire(轮胎)made a very loud noise, and at the very last moment our car stopped just one inch from the back of the other car.
I was frightened. But then I couldn't believe what happened next. The driver of the other car, the guy who almost caused a big accident, turned his head and started yelling at us. I couldn't believe it! But my taxi driver just smiled at the guy. So I asked, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost sent us to hospital."
This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call "The Law of the Rubbish Truck. He explained that many people are like rubbish trucks. They run around full of rubbish, full of anger and full of bad feelings. As their rubbish piles(堆积)up, they look for a place to throw it away and sometimes they'll throw it at you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their rubbish and spread it to other people at work, at home or on the streets.
Successful people never let rubbish trucks change their moods. Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love those who love you and pray(祈祷)for those who don't.(1)Which of the following is NOT true according to the first paragraph?
