Unit overview
The theme context of this unit is “man and society”, and the content of the theme context involved is the inspiration of art. This unit introduces world celebrities in different fields, such as painters Leonardo de Vinci, Pablo Picasso, sculptor Auguste Rodin, Nobel Prize-winning writer Mo Yan, visual artist Florentijn Hofman, composer Tan Dun and dancer Yang li Ping, etc., telling about their famous works and their inspiration sources, and also introducing their feelings; At the same time, this module also discusses the relationship between technology and art. The purpose of this unit is to introduce relevant vocabulary and grammatical structures through the topic of "art", so as to achieve the overall goal of the unit, that is, to guide students to explore life bravely, create and discover the beauty of life, discover their own life value and realize their life ideals with persistent spirit.
Teaching Content Analysis
There are two activities in this section. Activity 1 requires students to learn about Leonardo da Vinci's growth path, the source of artistic inspiration and some of his works by watching a video about Leonardo da Vinci. Activity 2 requires students to look at the photos of Richard Wagner, Mo Yan, Auguste Rodin and Pablo Picasso and understand their famous sayings. This section aims to introduce the topic of the source of inspiration, activate the students' existing language and background knowledge, stimulate their interest in the topic, and warm up the learning activities of the whole unit. The following text “What inspires you?” tells the story of three successful artists from home and abroad.

Teaching Content Analysis
The passage presents a text reflecting the theme of the unit. The text type is news report, which introduces the success of sports star Stephen Curry. Through studying the text, students can understand that success is closely related to excellent personal qualities such as self-confidence, hard work and perseverance. The lead-in activities before reading show some English expressions of basketball terms with pictures, which help students get familiar with discourse topics in advance and pave the way for text learning. Reading activities examine students’ understanding of the key information of the article. Post-reading activities are to inspire students to think deeply and explore the theme meaning creatively by examining the author’s writing intention, detailed information, core information and the expression of related topics.

Teaching Content Analysis
The main content of grammar in this section is to-infinitive, -ing and -ed as predicative. The first paragraph introduces the work of Vermeer, a Dutch painter whom the author has seen in a museum in the Netherlands, and gives a brief introduction to this work. The second paragraph introduces the characteristics of Chinese artist Wu Guanzhong’s paintings and his artistic perception.
