My Dream Job
Ever since I was a little kid, I've been really interested in animals. I love learning about all the different kinds of creatures that live on our planet. My favorite animals are probably dogs because they are so friendly, loyal, and fun to play with. That's why my dream job is to be a veterinarian when I grow up!
Being a vet seems like such an awesome career. You get to help sick or injured animals get better and keep pets healthy. I would love to be able to use my knowledge about animals to take care of them. It would be so rewarding to save an animal's life or make them feel better when they aren't feeling well.
I really enjoy learning about science and biology, which are important subjects for becoming a veterinarian. In science class, I find the units on animal anatomy and physiology to be super fascinating. Understanding how different animals' bodies work is crucial for being able to properly treat them as a vet. I'm a good
student and I think I would be able to handle the challenging coursework required.
In addition to the academic side of things, I also have a lot of hands-on experience caring for animals that would help me prepare for this career. My family has two dogs - a golden retriever named Buddy and a beagle named Daisy. I help take care of them by feeding them, giving them fresh water, playing fetch, and taking them on walks. Getting first-hand experience interacting with animals and learning their needs is invaluable.
Over the past few summers, I've also volunteered at the local animal shelter walking dogs, cleaning cages, socializing with the cats, and helping to exercise the animals. The shelter staff taught me a lot about properly caring for many different types of domestic pets. I've grown to love spending my time there and using my energy to help out however I can with the animals.
One of the activities I'm most proud of is raising money a couple years ago to donate supplies to the shelter. I organized a neighborhood bake sale and sold treats to anyone who made a donation. It was a lot of work BUT in the end I raised over 200 and was able to buy things like food, toys, leashes, and other necessary items for the shelter pets. Doing this community
service project made me feel amazing about being able to make a positive impact.
Another reason why I want to be a veterinarian is because I'm a really compassionate and caring person. Whenever I see an animal that is scared, hurt, hungry or distressed, it breaks my heart. I can't stand to see them suffering and just wish I could help them and make them feel better. Having the ability to actually do that and ease their pain and discomfort as a vet would be a dream come true.
I've been told by my teachers, parents, friends and others that I'm a very nurturing individual. Little kids always feel comfortable around me and I'm great with babies. I have a lot of patience and am really gentle, which are qualities that would allow me to effectively work with animals who are often afraid when they have to go to the vet. Using a soft voice and being cautious in my movements would help me gain the trust of frightened pets.
My career goal of becoming a veterinarian is also driven by my love for science and insatiable curiosity. I'm constantly asking questions to learn more about the world around me. As a vet, every day would be filled with new and interesting cases that would allow me to keep expanding my knowledge. Learning
about innovative treatments, cutting-edge technology, and medical breakthroughs related to veterinary medicine would be endlessly fascinating to me.
While the path to becoming a veterinarian is an arduous one, I am undeterred. I know it requires many years of difficult schooling like obtaining an undergraduate degree followed by four years of veterinary school. Even once you become a licensed vet, the job itself is extremely demanding and requires working long hours, being on-call for emergencies, and having excellent technical skills. However, I am a very hard worker who is driven to succeed, no matter how challenging the road may be.

My Job Application Essay
Hi there! My name is Jamie and I'm a 7th grader at Oakwood Middle School. I'm here today to apply for my dream job - being a professional video game player!
I've been playing video games since I was like 5 years old. My parents got me a Nintendo DS for my birthday and I was hooked from that moment on. I remember spending hours upon hours trying to beat Super Mario Bros. and watching my older brother play games like Call of Duty and Halo. Those games looked so cool with their realistic graphics and intense action!
As I got older, I kept getting better and better at gaming. I graduated from the DS to the Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 and all the newest consoles. I tried out every genre - action, adventure, RPGs, you name it. My skills increased exponentially each year. By 4th grade, I was defeating games on the hardest difficulty settings. My mind works really well for strategizing, mastering controls, pulling off crazy combos and tricks. It's like gaming uses the perfect mix of mental and physical abilities for me.
My favorites are shooters like Call of Duty and Battlefield because of the fast-paced action and online multiplayer. There's nothing more exhilarating than outgunning your opponents and helping your team secure victory. I've gotten so good that I can
routinely finish at the top of the leaderboards, even when playing against adults. My kill/death ratios and scores are always through the roof!
I've also invested tons of time into competitive multiplayer games like Overwatch, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. Games that require crazy fast-reflexes, strategic teamwork and on-the-fly decision making are right up my alley. I think my skills at these games could transition really well into a professional esports career.
Lately, I've been obsessed with the battle royale phenomenon and games like Fortnite and Apex Legends. I absolutely dominated my first few years playing Fortnite. When I was 10, I won my first solo Victory Royale after about a week of playing. By 11, I was clearing multiple victory umbrella every single day of playing. My building skills were unmatched - I could crank 90s, cone myself, and get crazy high ground over any player. I pulled off so many clutch plays and became a total trick shot master.
My parents were always a little hesitant about my gaming passion, wanting me to spend time on "more important" things. But I explained to them that gaming is turning into a legitimate career path, with professional players and streamers making
millions. There are huge competitions and tournaments happening all over the world, with prize pools reaching into the tens of millions. Esports is only getting bigger and more mainstream!
So when I heard esports organizations were looking to sign young talent, I knew I had to apply. My skills, determination and lifelong passion for gaming make me the perfect candidate. Wherever you need me - pro player, streamer, gaming analyst - I'm ready to embrace gaming as a full-time career. Just get me a tricked out gaming setup, plenty of energy drinks, and I'll grind day and night to get to the top.
I have so many elite gamer qualities that would make me a tremendous asset. Lightning-fast reaction time and reflexes? Check. Extraordinary hand-eye coordination? You know it. Nerves of steel to stay calm under pressure? That's me. Incredible game sense and strategic smarts? That'smy specialty! An unwavering competitive drive to outlast all opponents? Sir yes sir. You simply won't find a more dedicated or skilled gamer.
Becoming a pro has literally been my dream ever since I started gaming. I've spent countless hours studying the best players, watching tutorials, and practicing specific drills and maneuvers. My friend Sean even calls me a "gaming savant"
because of my intuitive abilities and natural talent. While other kids were into sports or other after-school activities, I was firing up my console and playing deep into the night, determined to reach elite status.
I know how to delay gratification and remain laser-focused for hours on end to grind through challenges and accomplishgoals. I've got an insatiable

My Dream Job
Ever since I was a little kid, I've known exactly what I want to be when I grow up - a professional video game tester! I know it might sound kind of silly or like I'm just being a lazy kid who wants to play games all day. But I actually think it would be the perfect job for me. Let me explain why.
First off, I'm absolutely obsessed with video games. I've been playing them for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are of sitting cross-legged on the floor, my face just inches from the TV screen, mashing buttons on my Nintendo 64 controller. I can still hear the classic Mario soundtrack playing in my head!
As I got older, I graduated to more advanced consoles and genres of games. I became a pro at first-person shooters, adventure games, you name it. I even started learning how to code my own basic games and mods. I'm pretty much a gaming encyclopedia at this point. I know all the latest titles, the hottest gaming trends, the biggest competitions and eSports events. Keeping up with gaming news and culture is like a full-time hobby for me.
So you can see, I've got the passion and knowledge that would make me an awesome video game tester. I'd be able to thoroughly test out every aspect of a game from the graphics and mechanics down to the smallest bugs and glitches. With my meticulous eye for detail, not a single issue would slip by me. I take gaming very, very seriously.
But it's not just that I'm obsessed with gaming - I'm also an incredibly hard worker when it comes to things I care about. I have astounding focus and can spend hours and hours glued to a game without getting distracted or bored. My parents are always joking that they have a hard time pulling me away from the TV or computer! That kind of intense concentration and commitment is exactly what you need as a video game tester.
I'm also a really creative person who thinks outside the box. As a tester, I wouldn't just mindlessly follow a script or do the bare minimum. I'd go above and beyond to attempt crazy stunts and experiment with unexpected maneuvers that could break the game in unique ways. I have a knack for finding obscure glitches and exploits that others might miss. Thinking of
out-of-the-ordinary use cases is kind of my specialty.
Another reason I'd be perfect for this job is that I'm an incredible multi-tasker. I can effortlessly keep track of multiple things at once without getting overwhelmed. So while rigorously testing out a new release, I'd also be taking detailed notes, documenting every single bug, mapping out recommendations, and providing crystal clear feedback to the developers. My organizational skills are on point.
I pride myself on being a stellar communicator and team player too. Even though a lot of testing is solo work, you still have to collaborate with developers, other testers, publishers, etc.
I can convey complex technical issues in easy-to-understand language. And I'm also an active listener who takes all feedback and criticism to heart so I can continuously improve my skills.
But most of all, I'm passionate about helping to create the highest quality gaming experiences possible. I want other kids
and people to be able to enjoy games as flawless masterpieces rather than buggy messes. As a video game tester, I'd take so much pride in my work knowing that I played a key role in the development process. Ensuring games live up to their full potential would be enormously gratifying.
So in summary, I have the essential traits you look for in a video game tester: an encyclopedic gaming knowledge, incredible work ethic and focus, creativity in finding glitches, strong multitasking abilities, great teamwork and communication skills, and a true passion for the gaming industry.
I was practically born for this job!
I know I might still be in 7th grade, but I'm wise beyond my years when it comes to gaming. Plus, it would just be for a summer internship or part-time after-school gig, nothing too crazy! I'm a responsible kid who can handle taking on a job at my age. Just let me prove myself - I swear you won't be disappointed!
If you give this ambitious but humble middle schooler a chance, I'll show you what a stellar video game tester I can be. Thanks for your consideration!

My Job Application Essay
Hello potential employers! My name is Tommy and I'm a 7th grader applying for a job. I know what you're thinking - "A
12-year-old applying for a job? That's crazy!" But hear me out.
I may be young, but I'm super responsible and hard-working. I've been doing chores around the house since I was like 5 years old. My mom says I'm the only kid she knows who actually enjoys vacuuming and scrubbing toilets. It's true - there's something satisfying about making things clean and neat.
I'm also really good at following instructions and directions to the letter. My teachers are always praising me for carefully reading and following all the steps in our science experiments and assignments. I never miss a detail!
In addition to being responsible and detail-oriented, I'm really good at math. I can multiply huge numbers in my head and help you calculate discounts or taxes lickety-split. Money math is my favorite kind of math!
I know you're probably wondering what kind of job a
12-year-old can even do. Well, I have lots of skills that could be useful! For example, I'm an expert dog walker and pet sitter. My neighbors always call me to take their dogs out when they're at
work because the dogs listen to me way better than adults. Animals can sense I'm a chill, trustworthy dude.
I could also be a great mother's helper or babysitter. My little cousin absolutely loves me and says I'm the funnest guy ever. I keep him endlessly entertained with my awesome joke telling abilities and games I invent. Parents are always thanking me for giving them a break from their kiddos.
If you need any yard work, chores, or cleaning done, I'm your guy. No job is too big or too small for me to tackle eagerly and efficiently. Does your house need a top-to-bottom scrubbing? Are your grass and weeds taking over your lawn? I can fix that pronto!
I'm also happy to do any sort of organizing, sorting, filing, or assembling you need. My brain works like a computer when it comes to systems and sorting things in order. I actually
color-coded and reorganized my family's hallway linen closet last month for fun. My mom couldn't believe how neat and logical I made it.
Another skill of mine is online research and computer skills. I'm always the one helping my grandparents with computer issues and showing them how to effectively search the internet. I have a talent for finding accurate information quickly online.
You're probably wondering about my schedule and availability. Since I'm still in school, I'd be free after-school from 3:30-7pm on weekdays. On weekends and holidays, I can work anytime! My parents are super supportive of me getting a job to learn responsibility.
In terms of payment, I'm open to discussing hourly rates or prices per job/task. I just need to earn enough for
Roblox/gaming purchases and to start saving for college. My parents said I'll need to pay for at least some of my tuition, fees, and living costs.
I know I may be young, but I'm mature for my age and smarter/more capable than many adults! I'm an extremely fast learner too. Just give me a chance and I'll prove how amazing of a worker I can be. You won't be disappointed!
Thank you for your time and consideration. I eagerly await your response and the opportunity to discuss further in an interview. Have a awesome day!
Sincerely,
Tommy。
