Objectives:
1.Instructional Objectives:
(1)Students can skim through the passage and get the main idea.
(2)Students can scan the passage to get detailed information and can
do comprehending exercises.
(3)Students can make a list of words comparison from Reading.
cational Objectives:
(1)Students can know the background information of healthy eating.
3.Personal Objectives: The teacher can handle the class efficiently. Focal Points:
(1)Students can apply their reading skills to efficient reading under
the guide of the teacher.
(2)Students can learn about what the healthiest eating way is. Difficult Points:
Students can improve and apply their reading skills. Teaching Aids: blackboard, PPT, chalk, book
Main Procedures:
Stage1: Lead-in (pre-reading) (13~15m)
There 2 steps for students to do before scanning the passage. And teacher gives questions or options to students, and gets the answers back.
Step1 (question1)
T: Class begins.
S: stand up
T: Good morning, class.
Ss: Good morning, Miss Wu.
T: Sit down please. Today, I’d like to talk about healthy eating with all of you. We eat everyday and what do you think should g o into a good meal? For me, an apple, some pork, and some vegetables are good for my meal. What about you?
(Pick some students to answer)

T: wonderful~! Thank you! You students have so many choices about food. Do you think their choices are healthy? Then let’s skim a passage about healthy eating and think about what is healthy eating, ok?

Step 2 (6m)
Let students skim the passage and pictures of Come and Eat Here, and ask them to give a main idea about the passage in 3minutes
T: Right. After reading this passage, who can tell me what this passage talk about or what this story talk about?

(In this step teacher can do some but not much leading works )
Step 3(3~5m)
T: Good, you all did a good job about reading, and now I’d like you to do the job of p11 Comprehending the first exercise, the T/F.
Stage II: While-reading: (15-20m)
Step 1: Check the exercise that students did, and lead all class to scan whole passage, find where the answers are.
T: Now you have done the exercise already, and let’s check your jobs. Ss:
T: Are you did a good job? If you not, it doesn’t matter, because you have only skimmed the passage, now let’s read this passage slowly and carefully to get the details,
Step 2: Let the students do the exercise 3 of comprehending of p11, and check it together. (5 min)
T: Now after your first scanning, we need some exercises to check whether you all know exactly what this passage about.

T: I put the answer on the ppt, look and check your answer, did you all right?
Step3: Let the students read the passage the third time and fill in the tables in the blackboard.(10-15)
T: And now, read the passage again, and this time, please finish these forms in the blackboard, and it will help you getting some details about this passage.
